While watching this vlog I felt like I was at the start of this pandemic. You know being pulled back to the start where everything suddenly stopped. It's just sad how this pandemic causes so much to everybody around the world.
Looking back on this video is crazy. They coulda been stuck there for months. My mom had to go for her mother's funeral and ended up getting outta the country 2 days before lockdown and it definitely was one of the luckiest times of her life. such a crazy experience

The fact people travel more than ever made this a worldwide pandemic in such a short amount of time. I lost a friend to COVID. I canceled a trip to my boyfriend who’s studying in Belgium already in March 3rd because we didn’t want to risk it. And since Germany has closed borders I haven’t seen him since. So many people are irresponsible and only act correct when it’s absolutely mandated by law.

This video reminds me, and makes me sad. I had spent nearly the past 2 years in Northern Philippines (Isabella and Cagayan provencies). The vlog makes me feel something or makes me put myself into that situation. If it was me I might be scared, worried, stressed, sad and other unexplainable emotions. But you guys are very composed and relaxed. Hoping to get the same courage for my future travel plans.
I used to watch bits and pieces of your videos but have begun to watch them in earnest recently. I appreciate that you show your experience, warts and all, rather than some fictitious version of your trips. That's what really makes us feel connected as viewers, I think. Because I'm watching so many in a row, I've noticed that you often mention when people don't speak English. While it's commonly spoken, it grates a bit to hear it phrased that way. If I'm in another country, I'm the foreigner. If I can't communicate, it's not because they don't speak English. It's because I don't speak Hebrew, or Russian, or Mandarin. If we were in the States, fair enough. But when abroad, we should own our communications skills, or lack thereof.
You are really really lucky to get each other as life partners... I love the way Nate each time wakes Kara by offering a coffee.. love ur videos so so much... Love from India ❤️❤️

It’s crazy you filmed this on March 14. I had a flight from JFK back home to Germany only two days earlier, and the security measures were not even close to what the Philippines did. The airport staff wasn’t wearing masks, most of the passengers didn’t wear masks either. There were no hand sanitizer stations, no rules to keep distance in lines. And Trump knew the USA had a problem at this time already, as he banned Europeans from coming to the USA right when we were at the airport to go home. I’m really glad we made it home in time & stayed healthy, seeing the numbers of cases explode only a couple days later.

You both have inspired us to take our fulltime family travels global once covid 19 is under control! Currently quarantining ourselves at home in your neighbor state of GA.

Kara: "Singapore has managed the virus well" By April 25th, Singapore has the most infection per capita in Asia and top 5 in the world. However the death toll is very low, fatality rate is at 0.1% . Lowest in the world i believe.
That's the funny thing..... they thought it is safer their but looks what happen, it is more risky to be there and expensive as well... sometimes you just need to be patient before you rushing to escape
People are misinterpreting the data, more than 95%of the cases are in domitries where foreign workers stay in Singapore, community cases though(which truly indicates the situation in Singapore) is only at around 10 to 20 per day
I important factor that the death toll is way lower in 80% of the countries in the world. With no good registration or system. Scientist has said that the death toll in the world is really 40% higher......
Because covid19 is an overrated virus. People recovers even without drugs or medicine. Those who dies are only the ones who have impaired immune system or those who have comorbidities
Singapore now has the highest case of corona virus in SE Asia. Btw, some foreign travel vloggers are now stranded in some islands in the Philippines and guess what?! They are quite loving it! Eight Miles from Home, Jumping Places, Travelling Clatt...just to name a few
I am glad you are safe where you are and it sounds like you did your decisions with both reason (and the facts you had then and the realities of Singapore doing a good job in containment) and heart (to protect your families from the possibility you'd been exposed during your travels), which is a combination no one can go wrong with. Stay healthy. Stay safe. Waving at your from New York City ...

Hope your quarantine is going fine! I hope this will end so that you guys can get traveling again. Your videos make my quarantine a lot better. Thank you!
If you want and can get out of that quarantine you’ve been in for ages now, you’re most welcome to Sweden. 🇸🇪 Right now lots of cheap empty hotels, open outdoor servings with people, and still lots of things to do. No lockdown, things have adapted to having a life with social distancing. Rent a camper and chase the northern lights, watch rocket launches at esrange, snow scooter in the forest or have a beer in the sun in Stockholm. Even ikea is open, but with distance. Was unusual nice shopping today. Keep distance, we are.
You've said hindsight is 2020 before and I love that. It brings me comfort in my decision making and trust in my ability to keep myself and my loved ones safe. You may not know the outcome of your choices but at the very least, you can learn from them. Love you guys! ♥️

YOU GUYS WILL DO GREAT WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE NEXT! Just wanted to let you know that :) just sent you a long DM on IG because you asked for input on what people would like to see as your next big adventure. It's difficult to make those choices in a time of so much uncertainty, we have been considering some of those same options for our own (much smaller) travel channel so I wanted to share some of the pros and cons we saw for each scenario (they are in the DM from us @naickkim). But like I said, you'll do great regardless of which option you choose. Because you are Kara and Nate 😉 stay strong and keep the faith!
It'd be cool if you guy's did some sort of vlog with people you've met in other countries, asking them how they personally and their countries are dealing with the virus and such. Could be interesting. Also, maybe a K&N reunion of sorts.
I think you made the right choice. March 15 - you leave Coron and the Philippines, March 16 - hundreds of colleges across the US move to virtual learning, march 23 - my home state, Michigan, goes into lockdown, now extended until May 15. Thanks for giving me something to watch while I'm stuck inside. I look forward to seeing more of your (non) adventures in Singapore. What are you two doing to keep yourselves from going crazy?
I realize you were far from civilization, but this virus has been around for quite a while. Glad you like where you are, because I cannot imagine what travel into the US would be like. Why planes are even flying now is amazing.
Looks like we both had our crazy travel days on the same date! I was in Hue (Central Vietnam) with a friend on 14th March after spending 2 days in Hanoi (where pretty much everything, including my original hotel, had been closed due to a flurry of virus cases). We knew we had to get out before things got worse, so flew south to Ho Chi Minh, then to Bangkok and then back to London - almost 34 hours in total! Hindsight really does confirm whether you made the right decision - I think given the current situation globally we all did do the right thing in leaving whatever country we were travelling to go home/somewhere lower risk. Stay safe and let's hope it's not too much longer before we can all start exploring the world again :)
you decided to stay in SG due to low covid19 infections but now it tops 12k and highest in southeast asia. You could have stay in coron with no covid19 infections and easy access to beach. Any regret?

I also wanted to partner make video somewhere around the world.......

Matthew Warmuth no it isn’t have you any idea what’s going on around the world
W00tW00t yes it is. We are getting controlled right now. The social media is over exaggerating this so much. And all it’s doing is scaring people, making it seem worse than it is.
@@matthewwarmuth7295 US death toll is currently at 53,000. Tell the grieving families that it was an over reaction... Please educate yourself on how pathogens spread so you don't endanger yourself, your family, or your friends.
Maddy Smith guess what. All those deaths on the older people. They aren’t doing biopsies on. Meaning I’m sure a lot of those older people are passing away from other things ie. old age, cancer. And they are just saying they have the virus. Because if you think about it. It’s less work, less money they have to spend.
@@matthewwarmuth7295 the number of expected deaths keeps falling BECAUSE of how everyone's reacting. If we hadn't don't anything the numbers would be skyrocketing.
Coronavirus is like, “You guys wanted to settle down after 4 years of travel, psych!” 😅
I hope you two stay safe ❤️
Hey Kara and Nate! Just wanted to say that I found you during the shut down and I have been falling in love with you guys! I love your fun and positive vibe and have appreciated the moments when you shared your hard travel times and vulnerabilities. I am having a great time traveling through your adventures in these crazy times. I am binge watching your videos now. Skipping around but I am sure that I will eventually see the entire 4 year story! Thanks for keeping us company and taking us out of our living rooms!
This is crazy! You were smart to act quick. I'm so happy you're both well and safe!
Now the wait begins, when will this pandemic be over so we can all begin travelling again. Stay safe
Now things r better
Not in the u.s. still bad here.
im in 2021 things arent getting better-
I’ve been traveling the whole time
uk is in their 3rd lockdown :)
I love how you always bring Kara coffee. That is a love language!!! My boyfriend does the same for me and I could not ask for more. Well I could. But I think Kara knows what I mean.
I started watching from the Beginning in January 2022 after eating bits and pieces for about a year and after watching this it reminds me of everything I've been stuck fighting through....
I'm sooooo very grateful to be able to watch all of your adventures now...
Many travel bloggers stuck in palawan and siargao,Despite of government repatriation to rescue them they choose to stay in islands than to back in their own country..their life there like heaven they continue film a vlog despite of lockdown, some part of Philippines province is Covid19 free like palawan and siargao.
From visiting Coron Islands to escaping Coronavirus lockdown how close these seems to be connected ... !!

I was in the middle of a kAra and Nate video when suddenly I get a notification of a new video, one more video for me to watch! Loved the video, stay safe!
Yahli Fenigstein yassss happy 4 u
Thanks!
Ok..
I’m glad you showed this! I loved you wiping down your seat Nate! Honestly, everyone should do that on every flight! The tray tables esp are some of the most bacteria infected every flight. They don’t get c,earned in between flights. I believe many airlines are doing this right now, but when it gets back to “normal”, whatever that will be....I doubt they will continue this service!
Stay safe everyone!
I always wipe down everything when we fly, I also have hand sanitizer when we travel. Just thought it was funny how he was wiping it down now, lol! Love your videos!
I’m watching this video in august of 2023 and so surreal to flashback to what we all went through in 2020. You guys especially had a challenge fall in your laps.
that bit where you guys are in the first queu... Kara's face goes from worried to very worried and then... suddenly she lites up and you know the world is going to be whole again. Stay safe, wherever you are.
It's mad. Travel within the Philippines is chaotic enough as it is but it must have been crazy during this time. Glad you guys made it back anyway.

It’s March 2022 as I watch this, such a fascinating little glimpse of what it was like at that time. Oh wow if they only knew what was coming!! I wish Nate had been right about maybe in a month they’d think this was an overreaction 😔
I've been home for over a month, and while I'm keeping myself, my family and others safe, I've been feeling nothing but unease about everything that is going on. I've been subscribed for a while and I'm thinking about watching your videos from the beginning. Watching your traveling videos is helping me calm down and keep my mind off of our current situation. I hope you both continue to be safe!
hello hello! local filipina here! after ecq, i highly recommend coron as your next tourist destination. clear blue oceans, sunken ships, jaw dropping beaches, beautiful sunny weather, its paradise on earth!
You both have inspired us to take our fulltime family travels global once covid 19 is under control! Currently quarantining ourselves at home in your neighbor state of GA.
Our National Adventure Subbed. Glad to support you! We’re doing similar with baseball travel. We were going to ATL this year until quarantine. 😩
Oh no! Yes it will be great to all get back out there and explore. Thank you so much for your support. Hope you are doing well during these times.♡
I have visited Georgia in the spring last year and its a beautiful place. Much better weather than the northwest. Stay safe with your beautiful family.
@@akbytv cool! We just purchased a homebase here after travelling in our RV continuously around the lower 48 for a year. Nice to have a warm southern climate to return to when we all need travel breaks. Georgia has some lovely towns to visit too! We were able to see Augusta before the shelter at home order.
GA is open...stop cowering!
I’m so glad you guys are safe!

Kara: "Singapore has managed the virus well"
By April 25th, Singapore has the most infection per capita in Asia and top 5 in the world.
@@travellerwanderlust9051 idiot wheres your proof for 40 percent or higher dumbass
ReWatching this now like rewatching a bad strange dream
I would have been freaking out, due to the “last minute, are we going to make it”! You guys really rock! Long time followers, learning from you both! ❤️
A lot of vloggers are also stuck in the Philippines, and almost of them say it was their choice. But glad you guys made it. 😉
My favorite part of the video, Kara getting her morning Coffee, Smiling, Makes the crazy going on less crazy, Thank you to you both

3:40 Maybe the most important flight of all where you just “MADE IT!!” 🧡👍
Nah! Some foreign travel vloggers are now stranded in some islands in the Philippines and guess what?! They are quite loving it!
*so sorry that your trip had to be cut short. It seems you guys were pretty calm throughout this entire thing!*
Hope your quarantine is going fine!
I hope this will end so that you guys can get traveling again.
Your videos make my quarantine a lot better.
Thank you!
If you want and can get out of that quarantine you’ve been in for ages now, you’re most welcome to Sweden. 🇸🇪
Right now lots of cheap empty hotels, open outdoor servings with people, and still lots of things to do.
You left that beautiful private island too soon. That was quite the dash to get out of the lockdown. A sold out flight with empty seats? Wow that airport was a mess, I feel bad for those that missed the flight
I feel bad too and I would've stayed I would love to stay there if I was able too
I was wondering the exact same thing, basically get a whole island to yourself for the fraction what they will pay in Singapore.
I’m so glad you guys are safe.
So are we 🙏🏻

omg I remember this so clearly when it was the hectic time for my bday celebration being canceled so suddenly and only hungout and ate filipino food for only 3 hours together in masks. then I was home alone celebrating my 27th bday and then 2 months being lonely but enjoyed my time off. Glad yall got to experience Philippines before experiencing this traumatic era
I'm watching this one year later...who knew the extent of it all?! Crazy beyond words!
my day always gets made when a kara and nate vlog is uploaded
Kara, your editing skills are NEXT LEVEL!
There's no place like home ❤️ the Philippines looks so beautiful though! Great people as well. Stay safe everyone 🙏
P.s I'm a new British UA-camr 😊👍
I realize you were far from civilization, but this virus has been around for quite a while. Glad you like where you are, because I cannot imagine what travel into the US would be like. Why planes are even flying now is amazing.
Your adventures to the Philippines always somehow end up interesting. Stay safe Kara and Nate!
I love how Nate had his mask on backwards for the first half of the video, but someone must have told him and he has it on right the second half
watching this now seems so crazy
you decided to stay in SG due to low covid19 infections but now it tops 12k and highest in southeast asia. You could have stay in coron with no covid19 infections and easy access to beach. Any regret?
Naaah actually stay or not and you get infected is still not fatal as long as you have normal functioning immune system without comorbidities.
13:30 "Singapore is now the most infected country in ASEAN but I agree they handle it well since they only have 12 death out of more than 12,000 infected"
That is why I rather trapped in Coron with zero virus infection until now and there is a lot of good hotels in main town!
I love that you're not one of those people who didn't believe covid is a thing. Kudos for being responsible as well with choosing where to stay put and researching for thinga to do. 👌
As a cashier and a mother it's interesting see what y'all experienced vs what we went thru, my son was in 8th grade and now he's 11th grade, amazing and sad, hope socially things change, but I'm thankful we all made it thru whatever those 2yrs where

Hi Kara and Nate - thanks for sharing your experience with us. This situation is so unusual and you've done the right thing - like you say hindsight is a wonderful thing !!
