    Thank you so much for this PRICELESS tutorial!! I was able to fix my non-lowering 4004 arm thanks to this tutorial, so easy to follow. Just for the record, in my case the solenoid was moving okay-ish, the damper was the element entirely stuck so I detached that alone (with its implied joint mechanism), opened it, cleaned it, lubricated it, and now it works very well. I didn't want to have to desolder the solenoid even though I understand it would be ideal to do it, it's on my to-do list for another summer.
    Thank you once again, you're incredibly knowledgeable and the fact that you decide to just share this is truly amazing, much respect to you sir.

    I inherited a bola 4002 the tone arm and balance are not parallel, can you show how to access the back of tone arm? Can this be adjusted?

    Thank you very much for your videos. I have learned here that my mechanism does in fact need to be cleaned and re-greased. I will do that while waiting for my new drive belt to arrive and I will have to add cleaning and re-greasing of the damper as I can see it is completely stuck.
    I will have more questions for you and have subscribed to the Beoworld blogsite for those. I just received this 4002 and am noting that the only indication of function at all is while holding and pressing the "Start" button, the appropriate lights come on and the DC motor starts, but if I release the button everything turns off. The tone arm does not move or begin to move or attempt to move, however if I manually rotate the worm screw to advance the arm past the micro switch, the tone arm sensor light comes on and the DC drive motor stays on, however inward tracking button will not advance the arm inward. If I press the Stop button, the arm will track back to "home" position and turn back off.
    I will clean and grease and get the arm lowering mechanism working and install the new belt while seeking advisement on what the next repair process will be.
    Thank you again for these wonderful, concise, detailed but not overwhelming videos. Your work is much appreciated!

    I have a beogram 4002 that I inherited. The tone arm and balance are not parallel, can this be fixed and how do you access, remove lid and tone arm cover?

    • @beolovervideos
      @beolovervideos  6 років тому +1

      You can pull the cover up vertically. It is only held in place with a leaf spring. Adjusting the tracking weight is shown here: ua-cam.com/video/j3KNUQIsTG4/v-deo.html. Good luck with your 4002!

    What snap ring pliers are you using? I cannot find a pair that are small enough to remove that guy! Thank you!

    Now my tonearm drops slowly but raises very quickly and bounces, any ideas how to fix this?

    Wow!! Thank goodness for your video. I have a Beogram 4004 Turntable. Haven't used it for a couple of years. Now I turn it on, the platter spins but the tangential tone arm does not move toward the vinyl record on the platter. Plus I press the start, stop and keys and nothing happens. Any idea what could be wrong? Why does the platter even spin without my pressing the start key? Any one have any recommendations on where I can send it to get repaired. It's in very good condition. I live in New Jersey in the USA. Thanks for your help.

    Hi, great videos. One off topic question about 4002/4004 model: why key panel is so much different then rest of the housing in colour in most examples i've seen on pictures on line etc? Is this kind of paint ware, shouldn't be this pure aluminium? Can be this somehow restored?
    Thank you..

    Thank you Beolover for your great videos. I am trying to restore a Beogram 4000 for my son in law that he inherited from his grandfather who succumbed to the C-19 virus. The solenoid that allows the the tone arm to lower starts to oscillate on~off rapidly as soon as the tone arm is lowered. Can you suggest what might be the cause and how it can be rectified, please?
