I more or less just like didn’t really tell anyone outside my immediate family and best friend, lol. So later on when other people I hadn’t seen for a while or just people I knew noticed I all of a sudden had a tattoo on my wrist and ask my response was “oh got it last May”. And they’d respond “oh nice”. End of convo lol *shrugs*

They usually want to get a tat THEN think of something that means something to them. But the original thought is that they want a tattoo. They just give all the other reasons as excuses. In other cultures you have to get tattoos, like in Japanese culture if you're affiliated with a gang or criminal organization you're forced to get them and it's not something you showoff. In America it's for the clout or the look
