I had two versions of this video and accidentally had the wrong one go up this morning. 🤦‍♀️ I’d like to blame this on newborn haze but Seth is three months old now so I’m not sure that still counts! 🤣. Thank you to everyone who watched, liked, commented the first round! I can see that but no one else can. I appreciate you!!

Girl, you are more than ok! I feel like the newborn haze doesn’t leave until 6 months after they’re sleeping through the night... like all through the night! So you’re totally good! ❤️ to you all!

Solo is such a great father and husband. He is always conscious of his family in his life choices. His reasoning for the back up camera was not to make things easier for him but safer for his children. This world needs more great parents like you two! Congrats on the new vehicle!!

God has a purpose. All things work together for good for those who love Him. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Having said all of that pray believing and receiving and I'm praying with you.

Hi Sarah! We have a Ford Transit too for our very large family. Ours is a 11 or maybe it was a 12 seater. Lol. We bought our 2017 Transit used in 2018and like yours had very little miles. We love ours. The back doors do open up all the way and fold back to the little magnetic bumper guard on the outside of the van. You just pull the first lever (not the yellow pull string one) to release the door and it swings all the way open. Very convenient. I love the front window when you drive because it feels like you see everything and super big. No obstruction at all. Congratulations on your Van! ❤️👍

I love big back up cameras. I have a phobia of backing over a child due to the fact that when I was 12 I was in the car with my aunt and she backed over her 18 month old. A back up camera would have prevented that. She survived (but had a nasty broken leg) and we praised God for protecting her. It was, however, very traumatic for me and I’ve struggled with driving around children since I turned 16. So I’m so happy you have a back up camera and to anyone that doesn’t have one-get it. It may save a life! I love your videos and I’m a faithful watcher even if I don’t always comments. Many blessings from Coastal NC.

We have the same van and the back doors do open all the way! We have 8 kids and LOVE this van!! One thing I have found helpful is getting some canvas storage cubes and sliding the under the seats. One of ours has extra diapers/wipes/underwear and one I fill up with baggies of cereal that I make up every week in case someone forgot to grab breakfast before heading to school. One of them has toys in it.

Soon to be 9 kids here! We used to drive an 8 passenger Expedition and now we have had the medium roof 15 passenger transit for 2 years! We love our transit. We live in MN and put snow tires on for the winter season and it does great in the snow! We usually have the middle seats in the back row out. We also do loooong road trips every year and this van has been amazing! We use a luggage rack on our hitch. Get carseats/boosters with cupholders, that what we have! And I saw that someone else commented about the back doors opening all the way😊

  • @blessedkin7tobegin679
    @blessedkin7tobegin679 5 років тому

Congratulations 🎉on the new van!! So exciting. We have a transit as well. Low roof one for our family of 9. It is our second transit as we had a major car accident in Jan '17 in the first one. They don't handle the snow well 😢. We were visiting family in Iowa and heading back home to Ohio. We hit bad weather in Indiana and while driving over a road bridge the back tires hit black ice as they came across the seam between the road and the bridge. We were on the I80E turnpike. The back of the van skirted around so we were then facing west and we hit a road sign and then rolled side over side twice coming to rest on the driver side in the median. God is so good Sarah🙌🏾. We did not hit another vehicle and police were on the scene and saw the WHOLE thing. They were there at the same bridge responding to a few cars that had just slid off the road. Anyway we all WALKED away from the incident with minor bumps. We had 6 children at the time and the youngest was 3 months old. God saved and protected everyone. We have so much to be thankful 🙏🏾for. We have since added one more baby to the family. We also now put sandbags in the back as well. We had only had the van 10 months when the accident happened. I could share more but need to close. God is so good!!! I love watching your family. My children do as well. I've commented in the past and wish I could comment as often as I watch. Thank you for your service of encouragement unto the Lord through you tube to so many of us!! Be blessed! 🤗

I had to smile as you were showing the van.😊
It reminded me of a small plane and how the seats reclined. Solo looked like the pilot and you like an airline hostess explaining how everything worked😊All that was missing was you pulling out an oxygen mask and a seat belt to demonstrate 😂😂
I loved watching this. You and Solo were so cute and you both are always so interesting and articulate when you explain things. Thank you 😊
This van will be wonderful for your family and great for your trip!!👍
    Enjoy it.....
Blessings to you and your beautiful family❤️🌺🌴❤️From Sunny Florida ❤️🌞🌴❤️

So lucky you have options. I had to buy a commercial 14 seater basic van here in Australia. Only option with a big family. We had a triple stroller and groceries or school bags and same problem. No storage. We ended up pulling out the back 3 seats. We put a cargo cage so items didn't projectile. It was great having the extra room when the older children did sport, I put a small foam mattress in for the babies and the door opened up as a shade. Love yours.

We have a 12 passenger Ford Econoline (which is just as fancy as it sounds!). I miss my mini van and all it's perks. Our van's name is Big Birtha (spelling choice was my husband's! 😂) but I call her perkless Birtha. There's not even a light that says a door is open. I would love to have more seats with latch! We have exactly 2. But we have 4 carseats that could use it.
Thanks for the tour and the comparison! It's good to know if we ever get to upgrade. (My oldest is praying that I'll be pregnant with twins by her birthday. It's all she wants this year! 😂 If the Lord agrees with her plan we may be upgrading soon!)

I've been following you for a while, and I must say, this is probably my favorite video. We are expecting our eighth in September, and need to upgrade our current "nine" passenger GMC Savana to a 12 or 15 passenger, so this is very timely! I've been looking at the NV and Transit vans, and this video is actually very helpful. I will also probably have to travel several hundred miles to buy one. The only thing I'm going to miss on my GMC is the fact that it is all-wheel drive! Keep us posted if you have a chance to drive the new van in the snow.

We just test drove a 12 passenger low rise Transit this last weekend and loved it! We are now on the market for one by the end of this year as we just had baby number five last year maxing out our mini van. I am glad to be able to show this to my hubby as a visual of all I have told him in differences. ❤️

We love our 12 passenger transit. Tons of trunk space and drives more like a van, which I love. I do recommend getting the sliding side door if you can. We have the double fold out ones which work but can make for a tight fit when trying to load kids and infant carriers while parked next to someone else.

We have the full upgraded version of the 2014. Leather seats, seat warmers, built in inverter for two 110 outlets, factory navigation and back up cams, etc and mine doesn’t have visor mirrors either.
We bought used, as well, and someone superglued a mirror to the passenger visor. 😂🤣😂. It look like it came off of one of those big eye shadow pallets and I will look for another one for the driver side. Haha.
To transport your stroller, take it to a small, locally owned bicycle shop and talk to them about an over the door bike mount. If you have the stroller with you, a lot of times those places will help you find something that will fit your needs.

We don't have a huge family, (just 3 kids) but we upgraded to a 7 passenger SUV from just a 5 passenger last year. We did that because our kids are getting bigger, we enjoy road trips, and we want to be able to bring our kids friends with sometimes. Our old SUV had awesome trunk space, our new one does not. When I grocery shop, I end up folding down the seats which thankfully is very easy. Anyway, I said all that to say I relate to choosing to buy something even if everything isn't perfect because it works best for the family.

Many people don’t feel winter tires are necessary, but all seasons lose their elasticity at about 40°F. In Quebec it’s actually law to have winter tires on your car between December 1 and March 15. Good that you have winter tires.

We have a Nissan Nv and love it....we have around a family of 8 and so with some of the last row out, it gives us a bigger trunk space then. We adopted our youngest 4 and are considering adopting more, so why we got it. Plus I had neck surgery and the safety on the NV is a top priority for us. Add in the Nissan Nv as a great tow vehicle for our future travel trailer and it was BEST choice ever. 🤗

Great video ❤. I don't know if you will see this comment, but can you do a video on postpartum challenges? For instance, if you have ever dealt with PPD/A, or juggling the demands of a newborn while also pastoring and homeschooling, how you handle times when you feel drained and run down, how you fit in exercise or personal devotional time, etc. I know Solo and the older kids are so helpful, but any tips or encouragement to young moms who are still in the baby/toddler/preschool stage would be wonderful! ❤

Back in the 80s and early 90s my uncle was raising 10 beautiful children. Yes large vans were available but not with the technology they have today. So when his oldest could drive my aunt was still have babies so they just got two large vans. One for boys and dad and the other for mom and girls. And the oldest daughter would drive! They went everywhere. Mass to Oregon California and so on. They made it work. You do whatcha gota do. Your family is amazing, beautiful, kind, patient and so many many more positive things. Yes the doors open all the way out switches on door. Crack a window makes shutting the sliding door much easier ( the smaller say over 5 will be able to do it). With an 8.4 roof some things like all car washes are too small, but most restaurants, banks, etc are accessible. I found containers that fit under the seats and let the grandchildren bring only what fit in their container. Great for soring diapers, wipes, and extra clothes for the little ones. Enjoy your van, we do.

Make sure your car seats have your top tether attaches to the seats so you might have to move some around to do that like the back seat. It a accident it helps stabilize the top of the seat and prevent whiplash. It’s very important to use it. Just wanted to let you know.

ROAD TRIP!!! :) looking forward to road trip videos. We take a long road trip once a year and I'm always looking for big family road trip tips. I'm pretty sure your channel was the one where you talked about having the kids wear flip-flops on road trips and having a shoe bag by the door where you would collect their shoes as they were getting in and out of the van? Was that you? Because that was a freaking Game Changer. I'm not even kidding, LOL. No more being stuck in Rest Stop Parking Lot digging through an overloaded messy van for somebody's missing shoe.😂

Hi sara, my mum has a van in the uk as she is in a wheelchair. Helpfully hint you can get D rings on the inside so you can attach bags to them. We use reusable shopping bags and a bungie lead it's so helpful x

Thanks for sharing! We are expecting #7 and need to upgrade. It helps to have someone other than a sales person give you a tour. Best yet you understand the struggles of getting a large family around and doing so most comfortably.

We drive a 16 seater Mercedes Sprinter for our big family. Bigger vans = more space, more room but also = harder to park and harder to clean ;-) Enjoy your new bus!!

We also have the 15 passenger Ford Transit. After seeing yours I wish we had gotten mid-roof, but I can't complain. My husband loves the twin turbo engine. :) We are about to have #6 (Lord willing) and were thinking of getting the 12 passenger extended. But decided the 15 passenger gives us more seats if we need them. We took out a middle row (sooooo heavy!) and the two in the way back. That gives us room for groceries and things like the stroller. ;)

Oh my gosh! They’re both so fancy! We are driving a 2006 Chevy 12 Passenger, so anything is an upgrade from that! Lol! BUT, I dont want to let go of it because it has double doors on both sides! So my baby car seats are on the driver side and I can just open the door and put them in without killing my back! I cant believe how tall the transit is! That’s amazing! We are considering our next van to be a 15 passenger, and then take the backseat out so we can have more storage. The storage in the trunk in the 12 passengers are ridiculous! Thank you soooo much for the reviews! I really needed to see this! You guys are awesome! So sorry you can’t park in the garage!

Amazing video! We are a family of 11 right now and have been making do with two vehicles & renting a van for trips, but now we're looking at buying something that actually fits. Your video covered my exact question!

Can’t wait for your cross country videos 🙂 I also like how you say “roof” 🙃 we’re a small family of three and almost empty nesters but I’d like to have a bigger vehicle just because I like the space, so maybe one day I’ll get my Tahoe, that’s as big as I’ll go!

I am thinking of building a tiny home and have looked into transforming a van. This was very helpful, what with the types of engines and the roof lines, etc. Thank you for posting this. :)

Thank you for making this video! We are currently looking for a large van. I thought I liked the NV but I've been leaning towards the Transit for a bit now and it was nice to see what you liked and disliked about both. We are praying God provides a great van because boy, they are not cheap! Trying to buy a van within 2 weeks of delivering baby #6 is stressful 😩

We have a grate we attach to the back of our NV. I pack our things in rubber bins and we can put three across on the grate and then strap them down. I keep hotel bags in the van. 🙂

Coming from a family of 11 before there were vans and Suburbans, we had the 3 seater station wagon. Two seats faced forward and one in the very very back faced backward. No air conditioning in those days, just windows rolled down if our dad would let us. Usually that wasn’t allowed because it messed up my mom and big sisters hair dos, but the worst part was that he smoked with all the windows rolled up🤢🤢🤢🤢. We had to put our luggage on top of the car!!! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

I've never seen the aisle in the middle. Very nice. I would go the route the older kids go, it's a win/win with an aisle and window seat in one. :)

I like your van. I really like it. All that foot space and space to put things. I've never seen one with the storage space above the windshield. Sarah,I'm sure your children will find something to put in that compartment below,in front, you might just find something sticking out of there.😆
    Thanks for sharing.👍
