Yep contoured! I actually wanted the Richlite but red micarta was the only one available at the time. I only bought it because I thought with the coupon code, free shipping, and no tax $62 was a no brainer. I lucked out because it’s way nicer than I ever imagined. I thought it would be a useful blade, never really thought how much so. Keep up the good work, love your content.
@@GBall_Vision Absolutely. A guillotine for sure if your into that. Thumb or reverse flick then let it drop, its addictive as far as figity but it also cuts well, carries well, has good ergos and looks awesome imo.
@@GBall_Vision Well, the red "bacon" micarta might not look the best to some, I didn't care for it personally so I dyed it. But, the micarta ones are contoured, while its more straight slabs on the richlite model. Its a linen micarta so the grain is quite fine and smooth compared to canvas or burlap. I do like the look of the richlite, but can't comment on grip texture or ergos for that model. From what I'm hearing richlite is pretty durable as well as naturally antimicrobial, and it appears to be the one most people are after.
I just order with copper handle. It looks great, maybe its littlle havy,190gr(6,70 oz) Its 72$ on sale...What do you think,is it too much weight for that knife?
This thing has multi-row bearings?! Between the richlite handle, the 154CM blade, and the pivot system, this must be the highest value budget knife on the market. Some people might say that a 60-70$ doesn't fall into the budget category, but considering all of the premium features, I'm gonna make the exception. And that grind?! you said thirteen thousandths?! MUST BUY,
It’s definitely a budget knife. But they knocked this out of the park. The skiffs bearings that fit it are even 18 ball multi row bearings which should make this ever more amazing. I fell in love with Kizer with the Varatas.
👍🏼. Cleavers, wharncliffs, and sheepsfoot blades appeal to me most. Don’t know why. Other blade types work too, like Finch Cherry Bomb or Kizer Swayback just fine. But my heart belongs to those first 3!
Thank you for the review and testing of this knife. Your testing is a good source of info for people before they lay that money down. This is a great knife. I recently purchased one and still in awe of it. I don't have the Blue model but would assume the action would be the same. Went with the Red Micarta model. The action on this knife is the best of any knife I own or have dealt with to date. Perfect detent, butter smooth opening and an ridiculous hydraulic guillotine closing. The only thing that let me down was the factory edge. It was sharp enough and cut well but there was some drag. A nice knife like this deserved better- and it got it. Used my KME Sharpener and went 300 grit, 600 grit, 1500 grit and finished with 4 micron stropping. Nothing radical, just evened up the bevels and took away the factory rough grind job. Now this thing cuts like a laser, slices through thin magazine paper like air. It's downright scary sharp and is without question the sharpest knife I own. Totally awesome knife with great materials. It sort of reminds me of years ago when you bought a Colt 1911 and did little things to it and made it your own "Custom". This knife is a great foundation for those of us who like to fidget with knives and the crazed sharpener people that experiment with steel to see what it can do. Kizer really nailed it with this Towser K design. It's a winner. Buy yourself one of these, you won't be disappointed!
Really want one of these, been trying to catch the blue richlite model in stock somewhere, but they go fast whenever they're available. This is a little better than I'd normally carry but with all the glowing reviews I don't care.
I have it in the red Deadpool micarta version and it is contoured this is a must!!! For any budget or not budget collection I also have the sheepdog non flipper and the petrified fish beluga the I tunned a little bit by disassembly and putting a little bit of oil and dammned they are the best fidget knives I have recommend them definitely
I know I’m late to the game but I actually bought the Red linen micarta Towser K and the Black linen Micarta Sheepdog at the same time for $130. It was a buy together deal on Amazon at the time. I own all kinds of expensive knives from Benchmade, Spyderco, WE and a few more and I am here to tell you that the Towser K might be the sweetest knife I own, period!! The action is just stupid good and don’t be turned off cause it has 154CM blade steel cause it’s very good steel. The beauty of 154CM is that it might not hold its edge for quite as long as something like CPM-20CV but when it starts to dull you can strop it back into shape in about 10 minutes and be right back to work. I did a test at home with 154CM vs CPM20CV cutting cardboard!! I cut on the cardboard for 20-30 slices and then checked to see if it would still slice paper. The 154CM cut about 200 slices of cardboard before it gave up the ghost where 20CV cut about 315. The difference was I was able to strop the 154CM in about ten minutes and go and cut another 200 where the CPM20CV took about 30 minutes with diamond paste to get back, in that time I had already cut another 200 slices with the 154CM. The 154CM is one of my favorite blade steels because of properties like the ones listed above!
I have the contoured red micarta version…..Love it!!!! Currently my favorite budget knife in my collection. SO good!!! Great review S23. You are the best in the business🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥😎
This knife was a big surprise for me! I bought it because it reminds me of a turtle and the cleaver blade. Didn't realize this only had a thumbstud to open the blade (thought it had a rear flipper). But it was actually easy to deploy. The thing that surprised me most was how it literally drop shuts. It's definitely the smoothest in my collection so far.
orderes two: one towser k blue, and same as yours sheepdog. Cant wait for them. Sick knives. Want one more kizer, i thing called cormorant with g10 scales.
Got the red Micarta version and it's fantastic and comfortable in hand with the contoured scales, it would be nice with a flipping hole like the newer sheepdog!
Reminds me of the sheep dog. I know if different but very similar. Also similar price points. Kizer is making some really good knives at affordable price point with 154cm
I love the towser k unfortunately if the richlite scales were contoured they couldn't have done that same pattern ya know but I'm also thinkin about cutting a blade hole in mine I love my trm atom I did it on awhile ago....
kizer is really killing it, great designs, great steel, absolute killer value!🔥 bought a civivi lately and was kinda disappointet, probably spoiled by the action of my kizers😂 and what makes me really happy is that the towser-k has an ambi clip, i hope all their future budget models will come with ambi clips🙏
I just ordered this, and thought the same thing. Would LOVE a hollow grind version with a thumbhole. That would be an absolute monster food prep folder.
I am purchasing either the Towser K or the Sheepdog with hole . If you where buying one or the other which would you prefer and why ? I look forward to your opinion.
The red micarta is contoured, have you had any issues with accidental lock disengagement. I have the same knife and the lock up is only about 10% and when I grip it tight I comes unlocked.
It comes in at least 3 different scale options that I know and if you get it from Mojave outdoors or white mountain knives you can use my discount code for a little discount 👍🍻🍻
This full review is saving me so much work researching this knife. You're a hero, Stassa.
Also the rundown at the end directly comparing the size comparison knives with the Touser regarding budget and features was immensely helpful!!

Homerun for Kizer! Yes, the red micarta is contoured. I dyed it purple and bronzed the hardware. One of my top 3 of 2021! Thanks for the review!✌
Michael this Kizer good eh?

This is a fantastic budget knife. Just amazing ergos. Attractive and different looking scales. Yet another very well made Kizer.
Mine is apparently arriving today - looking forward to it even more after your detailed evaluation! Thanks for this.

Love this model, I hope they make a hole deploy Method in Titanium sometime.
Cleavers handy for deep cuts, rope, etc. Back to Gerber Suspension multi tool here at high mountain desert plateau hideout NM.

Stassa, have you tested the 3v on the button lock Towsers yet? Really curious to see how it does for you.
That richlite handle, how well would it absorb (black) rit dye? Very specific question but I'd love to get those handles pitch black. Thanks!
I'll say it, this is better than the Sheepdog.
