2: The Rangers used 2 pitchers
3: The 2nd Pitcher, Wes Littleton earned a save as he wasn't the winning pitcher and pitched the last 3 innings
4: This was the 1st game of a single admission doubleheader. The Rangers came from behind to win game 2, 9-7. That game took longer than this one.
5: Numbers 8 & 9 in the Rangers order had 14 RBIs
6: Every Rangers hitter got a hit
7: The Rangers lineup as a whole had a batting average over .500
8: The Rangers used 1 pinch hitter, he hit the 2nd Grand Slam.
9: The Orioles didn't get an out at first the entire game.

It's also amazing that the starter had a bad outing but not one where he put the game out of reach. Daniel Cabrera gave up 6 runs in 5 innings plus...a 3-run homer in the top of the 6th knocked him out of the game.
It's amazing as well, as the Rangers were 55-70 when they won this game.

I've got familiar with Baseball like just a month or two ago. It isn't being played almost at all in my country... I guess mostly because I live in Europe. I would like to play some baseball but sadly there isn't a field in my town :)
I don't know anything about the teams playing in the MLB but I sure do enjoy watching a good game, no matter who's playing :)
As I said I learned the basic rules of the game not more than a couple of months ago. Baseball is much more complicated than most of the people think. Love it! It's beautiful and entertaining game :)

What's crazy is this game went into extra innings when Baltimore tied it up in the bottom of the 9th. The game went 47 innings, lasted 67 hours and the final score was 785 to 987 Rangers

@Leigh Anne Kretschmar actually no, Wes Littleton was credited with a save in this game because he pitch the 7th, 8th, and, 9th innings for the Rangers; if you pitch the last 3 innings coming in with a lead and didn’t start the game, you get a save no matter the deficit.

The crazy thing is that once they hit about 15, they were holding holding up runners that could've scored out of respect. You can see Kinsler at one point hold up his hand to stop the guy behind him. They were basically just going station to station and still scored 30.

The Texas Rangers didn't score any runs until the 4th inning. Nearly half way through the game. Thats what impresses me!
Since the rangers scoring lasted from the 4th till the 9th, if they scored like that the entire game they would've put up 45

If the 30 runs weren't strange enough, some pitcher by the name of Wes Littleton actually got a Save in this game. That's right, the Save rule reads if a pitcher goes the last 3 innings regardless of how big the lead is he gets a Save. Littleton, who had a very short career, pitched the last 3 innings of scoreless relief and got the save. And to add fuel to the fire, this was only game 1 of a doubleheader. In game 2, Texas defeated Baltimore 9-7. Thus, the Orioles allowed 39 runs in the doubleheader... all 39 runs were earned. Ouch!

You cannot get a save with a twenty-seven run lead. To have a save chance you need to be leading by more than zero but less than 4, unless you come in with a four-run lead and the bases loaded. You also have to be coming from the bullpen.

I was 4 years old but I distinctly remember reading looking at the MLB scores in the newspaper the next day and seeing this one.
