I am glad you took the time to demonstrate the poor quality of some engine builds. Unfortunately this is not a one off and represents what some less educated individuals put together, using bolts with the wrong thread is classic engine building errors carried out by people who think they know what they are doing, but in reality have no business being anywhere near assembling an engine. Excellent video and one that owners should take a lesson from.

Indeed. Whilst it's always difficult to get a balance of displaying wrongs and rights, we do see an awful lot of wrongs ! And if we can provide a little education along the way all the better 👍👍

Sad state of affairs with that MPi engine. There must have been some noise going on when the wok was being machined by those clutch bolts! If you don't want to stick to Minis in your videos I can't see anything wrong with the odd Mk1 Golf creeping in!

Yep it must have made a racket for a while !! Minis are very much our lifeblood, however we love anything automotive. And some people have asked about the golf so thought it best to just include what it was all about. 👍👍
