Thanks for this! So many people make “day in the life videos” & just show them drinking coffee or walking their dogs lol. This was cool to watch. Also, you’re gorgeous!
great content, im thinking about changing from IT support to technical writing and trying to understand/create a path to get me there. This helped. Cheers.
Subscribed. Recently I started working as a technical writer. Could you please post few more things about the career path and the chances to continue in this domain or shift to other domains. Would love to hear from you😁
Thanks for the video. I’m interested in tech writing, I’ve just started my IT career. I’m in helpdesk now, I see that I do like documenting. Im interested to see a video w/ more info on a path to tech writing as mentioned if possible, thanks! ☺️
Greeting this is Saiteja, I am working as a Dev now and came across TW and want to change my domain to TW and Could you please let me know how is the future of this TW. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing this! I have a couple of quick questions for you, if you're available to answer. 1. In your video you didn't mention doing any work after hours. Do you ever have to do work at home after hours? If so, how often? 2. Do you ever have to do work on the weekends? If so, how often? Thank you for your time, and for sharing this video.
Like I said, no day in my life is the same. I do work after hours on some days of the week, especially when I am close to a deliverable or I have sync up calls with teams working out of different time zones. Weekends are a No No, unless it's a personal choice of completing some tasks that I couldn't through the week. But it's never been asked by any org I have worked with until now.
Greetings this is Prof Jason , I am handling a session on Technical Writing tomorrow. I am going to use your video as an intro and a peak into the life of Technical Writer for Visual and Mass Communication students at M.S University
Can I ask career guidance questions here? I have non-technical background but I wish to transition into technical writing. I am worried not having a technical degree might be road blocker for me later. Am I overthinking?
@@PriyankaWycliffe I think they mean that "what does the work entail?" I don't think they expected a "full course on tech writing"..lol but like what makes a day in the life of a tech writer different from a day in the life of any other job? You mentioned a "writing sprint?" Could we at least get a sample of that? How do you know what to write? Are there any requirements you think are needed to be a tech writer? Things like that.
@@ThePaganSun the question exactly says how the craft is done. And I was just poking fun saying it’s not a course. But maybe I can do another video on what the job entails. Thanks for your comment!
@@PriyankaWycliffe Yes, that's true. Thanks for the response! I was wondering what it entails too because one of my Public Affairs bosses sent me a link to work as a technical writer for Luma which is an energy company but I know nothing about it so I wanted to know a bit more about the type of work I'll be doing.
Hello ! How can I reach you (via email/Linkedin) to get some inputs, insights, tips and tricks, suggestions, and so on for starting my career afresh as a TW? I would like to start as a volunteer first but I have a very little experience on TW. Having said that, I have 5 years experience on Content Writing and Copy Editing. Please can you help? Thanks!
So you work at ServiceNow ? I am quite curious about "Technical Writing" job profile. Can you please share more details, scope, current and future, and what kind of skills is useful and how to switch from Application Support role to a Technical Writer profile - I understand technology and complexities and able to explain briefly BUT find it hard to develop something from scratch . Good exposure in ITIL ITSM and SCRUM also. Please help . Thanks

Heyy! thanks for sharing this!
So I got the workflow but I missed what is it that you exactly write about? Is the scope closer to a content writer or a techie?
I am also a makeup buff and a technical writer by profession.

Hi i want to become aerospace technical writer is there any scope in future
👌
Thank you 😊
There doesn't seem to be anything on exactly how technical writing - the craft - is done. This video is simply about a person's daily work routine.
Yes, that’s exactly what the title says. A day in my life. It’s not a course on tech writing.
