Building mechs is a bit more complicated than you'd really think mostly just because all the default loadouts for mechs are pretty good so making your own customs ones better than the enemies is a bit difficult

I like how the controls are for moving but they fire without controls using a neuronet. I think Battletech, in general, has that backward, I can see controls linked to a neuronet but you link the fire to my brain and accidents happen. I mean it is one thing to use a rifle and passes that through all of the frontal cortex where the "I should not do that" part of me kicks in from a stray thought, quite another to wire it directly to my brain mostly to the motor cortex that does not need to pass through our higher reasoning bits. I mean that plus modern military equipment has way more advanced controls and is all multi-function displays now. Someone should update it, the rosy sunglasses has immersion-breaking shit smeared on the lens. I mean they look like 70s era combat helicopter controls, Even looks like what I assume is a throttle in the right looks more like a collective. The Atlas cockpit is really a stinker, that asymmetrical wonk that it has would get on me IRL. It does in-game too and I have to hit v on that ugly ass bastards cockpit. They did do a good job with variety for this game though. The Jenner even has a kevlar shield just like the co-pilot ablation shield on the AH64. The very one thing I am waiting for a game to get right is the view with half of the view being 1:1 and the rest of the view being 2:1 ratio to give 360 deg. You know like a Battle Mech from the lore.
What they REALLY got wrong imho, MWO and MW5 Mercs alike is the feeling of sitting in a 20 meter tall mech.a guy on the MWO forums hit the nail on the head years back.
The problem is that the head of the pilot is like 10 meters wide, you notice that when you stand infront of a building really close and have like 5 windows next to each other in your view.if they woudnt have fucked up that scale you woudnt feel like hovering 2 meters over the ground.i wish there was mod that narrows the fov to give me a "beeing a giant" feel.especially for VR experience

Honestly I really want to play armored core 6. since my laptop can't handle that game,my friend suggest me this. First time playing, very impressed. But I spend lot of money and days to repair mech. Any advice for new player like me?
i am a little surprised because in my game i only see the cockpit window, but no instruments, no legs and arms of the pilot. can i adjust that somewhere?
Yes cockpit view in the settings
Increase your FOV. The video here has the fov set to max. I wouldn't set it all the way to max however, since it can cause a fisheye effect.
I really wish mech games would use concepts from steel battalion on the original Xbox. Implement the map with a retractable map built into mech. Health and ammo integration in the cockpit. Still though, this looks pretty fun.
I'm sure someone has made a mod for it if I know the battletech community the thing they hold above every other regard is immersion

The Flea makes me sad there is 0 reason to use a light in the game, 1/3 of the way through the game your drop tonnage is 400 tons and the npcs have a solid 2000 tons. It's suicide to take a light.
