- My second video on this bike and it blows up... This is going to be expensive.. But at least it should be reliable after a full rebuild.

Clement Leworthy haha lots of people getting triggered
i'm new to riding so how bad is engine braking, i saw someone say it's really bad for a 2 stroke how about something like a crf450r?
joseph mcneal.. For that bike, not bad at all! You can engine brake that baby all day long!! LMAO
Just don't engine brake it past normal top RPMs of coarse!
I brake by engine And engine is ok (jawa 50)
for 4 stroke it doesnt matter. engine brake as much as you want
"My motor doesn't sound good,so let's just keep running & Twisting the guts out of it "😂
Damn straight
4 stroke blows up: haha get a 2 stroke loser
2 stroke blows up: its the riders fault
Haha
My opinion 4 stoke lasts longer my second opinion a 2 stroke is bad fucking ass
@@El_rod309 It's not really an opinion the top end on a 4 stroke does last longer but costs more.
James Dell'Aquila I know
He’s riding a 2 stroke
When u start hearing stuff that doesn't sound good keep the rpms low and get your bike home I wouldn't keep riding or try to keep riding
I was very far from home. This is the first time the bike blew up so I didn't really know what to expect from the noise :/
Moto Muppet i suggest that you dont ever use engine brake with 2-stroke. Its bad for them, coz they dont get any oil to engine on that time. Start using more normal brakes
When this video was posted I was new to 2 strokes. Watch some of my newer videos, engine breaking is minimule now.
one word of advice on 2 strokes, if they aren't running right don't run them, something is wrong and hoping for it to cure itself results in piston rings in your exhaust pipe most times.
mummohacker when is he engine braking I’m a noob so I wouldn’t be able to tell
I was expecting a bang and a pop, fuel starts to leak and oil, spark comes out of nowhere, mushroom cloud, sirens, woods burning down, massive forest fire, more explosions, fire trucks and planes drop water, unable to stop fire, Whole world gets set alight.
LOUDEN everything past sparks comes out of nowhere would be impossible
tires blow handle comes off tires fall off wheels fall off
Greta Thunberg weeping about the carbon overload as German police officers toss her into a live volcano. Poor volcano.
Any abnormal internal sound's you should shut it down ASAP the motor is only chewing itself apart. You probably caused more damage internally. Maintenance.
At the time this was my first 2 stroke bike and I am still learning, I really didn't care if it blew up as I didn't know the condition of the engine anyway due to not having it long. So either way it wouldn't have been long before I gave the bike a full rebuild. We were heading back to the van to go home so I was just going to try make it back. = )
You're doing a lot of engine braking. That's very bad for a two stroke, because it's not getting lubrication when you're not on the gas.
Mees I hope it has oil injection
It still doesnt get lubricated when enginebraking, because oil injection mixes the oil to the gas in the carburator. So its the same as having mixed gas, you just dont have the oil and the gas both in the tank.
some systems have the "injector" in the intake manifold
Mees
Stop talking about engine breaking PLEASE
iv been riding my yz250 for years and do ALOT of engine braking.. still runs great. just ride it till she blows up then rebuild it..... and if the bike is running its getting lubricated. (not as good as on the gas) on the gas or off its still getting lubricated
"It's minor, just get a new plug.."
Yep
I love how you just keep riding... Like damn. Rip engine.
I was just about to do a complete rebuild so I decided to ride as far as I could =)
I don't get why you kept it running if it's inside you engine id turn mine of almost as soon as I hear it
I've got a 1989 dt50 Mx so dw about old bike

I like the look of old bikes, I like new ones too but I wouldn't get rid of a bike just because of its age =)
Moto Muppet yeah mate my fist 2 stroke know love old bikes me I'm 16 first road bike see wanted something with gears
Enjoy it man :D
I remember when my 2 stroke RS125 exploded on me. No one knows the meaning of fear until you're doing 85mph overtaking in the outside lane of a dual carriageway when the big end blows and the main bearings seize and lock your back wheel up. Think fast and clutch in before you hit the tarmac, lol. Always rode my rs with my hand hovering the clutch, because "just in case". Saved me that day.
Damn!!
Moto Muppet - Damn indeed. Back wheel was locked solid, started sliding for a few seconds before I disengaged the engine with the clutch. Speed went from 85mph to under 50mph in those few seconds before the clutch kicked in. As the saying goes, my arsehole was going 1 pence 10 pence.
I bet! That's seriously scary haha.
wickwah definitely a shake up glad your ok pal any biker is a brother of mine keep riding son
That smoker was on its way to blowing up at the beginning of the ride??
hear how it was bogging at the start?
Lol yeah every one talking bout the engine braking meanwhile it was fucked the whole time
And it looks like the bike has no power and doesn’t want to rev these mfs think engine braking is the doom of all bikes yet it looks like the bike has 200 hrs on a top end
Saw a comment about getting a new bike. Forget that. Just do a top end rebuild. The bike will run like new and it's not expensive or super time consuming on a 2-stroke. It'll take a few hours if you're experienced. And even if you're not I'm sure there's a UA-cam video that will tell you all about how to do it with ease
I gave the bike a full engine rebuild =)
Nothing better than the sound of 2 stroke
thats Kapp 4 stroke sounds a lot better
except a multi-cylinder , two stroke.
bet it was running really sweet before it blew, for some reason 2ts seem have a moment where they run ridiculously well just before they blow.
why's that
@@drazokk2887 they are running lean. A bike always runs the BEST, then it blows. Facts
That sound is your piston ring saying goodbye.
So nice to see young lads out the on there bikes in the dust don't worry what bikes your on trust me when your still out there in the mud at 55 all those skills your getting now will be handy keep up the good riding.i started on a 50 cc puch maxi so your already ahead of me 🇬🇧👍
This is why I tend to avoid two strokes you never know when the engine is going to crap out on you
Yeah you kinda do... just don't engine brake and listen to your engine closely and you'll know when she's on the way out.
Lowkey all you gotta do is take off the exghaust pipe to check part of the cylinder, also i feel like the 4 strokes are a little more unpredictable when it comes to blowing it, ive had a 450 that sounded clean af and all of a sudden seized outta no where
Exact same thing just happened to my banshee. A bearing gave out and the piston was slapping around the cylinder head while the skirt was wearing itself to hell. Thang god for nikasil though otherwise I would have needed new cylinders.
They're all fun and games!
30 years 2-stroke mechanic and engine braking is natural for the engine whoever says the engine braking is bad for a 2-stroke obviously only owned one or two and has no idea
Appreciate the information =)
Moto Muppet / if you want to become an expert with two strokes best thing to do is to
1: learn how to read the spark plug:
2:Second thing you need to learn when there's a noise coming from the bottom engine obviously has to come apart/
learn how to read the piston if you go on the Internet you will find plenty of information about learning to
"reading a 2-stroke piston" best information I can never give anyone:
Reading a piston will tell you whether it's the way you ride or the way the bike has being set up or basic mechanical fault.
Ed Dean I was scrolling through the comments looking for this. Thanks 👍
Moto Muppet www.smellofdeath.com/lloydy/piston_diag_guide.htm
good read, but i disagree, engine brake does some harm, specially in 2 stroke racing engines. for mopeds and low rpm stock 2 strokes it's okkay, but does harm if prolonged
Yea dirt bike are hard working machines nothing lasts forever people.
Gonna need a rebuild #quadricers
It had a full engine rebuild =)
Needs that billstein suspension

*pops glove* CHECK!
HOW TO AJUST ME VALVE CLEARANCES
I had this problem too, with two strokes it's bound to happen sooner or later no matter how well you treat the bike. They're high performance machines with very tight tolerances so can't always be too surprised. Hope you can get her fixed soon, I'd check out motosport and order a wrench rabbit complete rebuild kit. It'll run you upwards of 500 bucks but I've rebuilt three bikes for friends using that kit and they all run perfect now. Worth every penny!
This video was posted a while ago now :D The bike had a full engine rebuild =)
Words to live by
...engine braking is the engine pulling a vacuum against the closed throttle plate...there's no load on anything...
The bike did not seem like it was running right at all before it blew up it already had problems it almost sounded like an air leak to me
That was the point in the video, I edited the video to start right as the problems became clear to see in the video =) I don't have this bike anymore but the guy that now has it still can't stop it from blowing up, there is something seriously wrong with this bike haha
@@MotoMuppet has your friend that has the bike now done a leak down test? If not have him do that to me it seems like it has a really bad air leak which will cause it to blow up even if you rebuild it if the leak dont get fixed it will keep blowing. Just my opinion hope it helps
Nice bike ! Retro as fuck. 1990 beast
Thanks man! Close! It's a 1995! =)
Moto Muppet IT NEEDS A REBUILD BUD xD
I think so too!! xD
That motor was running rough from the beginning!
It cut the video to where the problems started
He's not called Moto Muppet for no reason 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
That *Noise!*
Piston slap? A bearing? Something sounds like it’s going to come out the side of the engine!
one of those videos "kid blows up 2 stroke, (911 called)"
it's hard to give a video like this a thumbs-up I feel your pain there is nothing thumbs up about this but it was a good experience for people who are an experienced Riders to see and be able to take in in a little bit of that knowledge
sounds like a piston ring gone. Having watched to the end it was other stuff too. Sorry to hear that.
Granny shiftin not double clutching like your supposed too
Jk
Respct- dis man knos wht up.
Nothing else like a dude breathing super loud
"Rev it up, that will fix it."
Could be the gudgeon pin in the piston rattling round it’s usual
Never understood why people just keep on riding, and revving the piss out of an engine they obviously know isn't doing so good lol.
Because I was miles from our van and was just trying to get as close as possible.
I'm not an engineer or something, but in the beginning of the video that bike already sounded like it had one wheel in the grave already :(
This was the end of the day. We had already been riding for about 3-4 hours. But you are correct, that is why I started the video at that point as that is where the problems became noticeable =)
Engine already sounded not to powerfull from the beginning!, but it's not a RM is it?
I thought that its a Suzuki alright but more like a RMZ or something just like dtr for Yamaha or kmx for the kwakis
Sounded like it was knocking pretty hard at the start so yeah just keep riding it lol
Indeed, it got a complete engine rebuild after. I put in the time and money.
When there is no throttle, the engine idles right? It's getting petrol and oil, right? Therefore, when you are doing no throttle down hill or whatever, (I am guessing that's what you call engine braking) , the engine is still getting oil...and petrol. I've never had a problem, with both premix and injection. If you have a problem, maybe the fuel/oil ratio has not enough oil in it, or the injection system isn't injecting enough oil as it should. The injection system on my road bike is adjustable. If you are revving the motor flat out for prolonged periods, you might want to make the petrol/oil ratio a bit richer , with a little bit more oil per litre of petrol.
Sean M no it’s just not getting enough. It’s held at 8-10000 rpms getting gas for it to idle...that’s clearly starved lol
I've never had a problem.
Sean M yet
That bike looks so fun to ride!
It is when it isn't giving me problems haha
That’s some piston slap
This can also be called "lack of proper maintenance".
I'd say it was seriously unlucky to have rings, and both bearings go lol.
I know man, fuck it sucked xD
My engine sounds like bolts in a washing machine let's carry on
bearings starving for oil, because of engine braking too much
zombiedeutsch the oil in the fuel doesn't lubricate the bearings, the gear oil in the case does.
crankshaft bearings too ?
zombiedeutsch yep, how did you think the mixed fuel got to the crank? It only lubes the rings and other top end stuff
+Jordan Sleppy i ride 2 stroke mopeds and thats how they are lubricated.
i thought transmission in 2 stroke dirt bikes and other bikes is separated from engine and has its own lubrication unlike 4 stroke.
Dingus Dow thats right, thanks man. I was correct after all though i never put my hand on a 2 stroke with gears transmission.
The Honda will blown up soon hanging high after a rev is a lean sign
Don't understand why you kept ragging it after the noise presented mate. Oh well. Hope it all worked out for ya
You're one of the very many who don't, I was giving it a full rebuild anyway so meh. Thanks mate
That bike sounded hurt from the beginning! I thought it was an air cooled bike (air cooled bikes always sound less rev-happy than water cooled bikes... like the piston is swollen or something). When I saw your radiator cap I thought (uhh ohhhh). It most likely had extremely low compression, it didnt sound like a happy engine even in the beginning.
Damn i though TS125X are indestructible lol. Owned one by myself very reliable machine. Would be great if you would do rebuild and make video! :)
This is an old video mate, the bike has been fully rebuilt since then :D
Just looked through your videos, sorry :D I saw 2 rebuilds, well done! keep up the good work :)
Thank you =)
Wouldn’t of been so bad if you stopped after you heard first rattle, maybe just rings, lesson learnt I suppose
Should this how 2 strokes should sound?
good thing your on a 2 stroke. HAlf the price to rebuild than a 4 stroke
Yeah haha!
And twice as easy
therealAK ALASKA but a 4 strokes can run forever without rebuild! :p
Engine braking isnt bad on 4 strokes on 2 strokes it is
Wouldn't need to rebuild a 4-stroke
You could have prevented a lot of damage by not running the bike after you started hearing noise. But now your cylinder and head are junk, and if anything gets into the Crankcase your looking at lots of money for repairs...
I gave the bike a full rebuild, the cylinder was fine and so was the head =)
lol
At least u can say that she went out with a bang
Yeah haha
If I heard a noise like that on mine it be turned off right away and I’d be getting a lift home or getting towed by one of my mates this is painful to watch.
Keeps revving it like that will fix it 🤦🏼♂️
Just realised muppet was in the name !
I kept riding it until it died, then put in the time and money to rebuild it from the ground up. I may hammer it, but it gets the attention needed.
Moto Muppet
Is it fixed?
The same thing happened on my bike
Hears something off proceds to throttle the engine
Running LEAN as fuck. Turn the air screw in to the right on the carb to allow more fuel, or increase size of pilot and main jet.
Sounds like you just ran out of gas.
You can’t be serious...
It started to break when you said it was the spark plug....
It's all rebuilt now and running well if you check out some of my newer videos :D
let the bike cool down then ride it back slowly. Might have saved it.
my aprilia rs50 with 80cc kit was making the same noise as yours before it fucked up piston and the cylinder
I'm lucky, I had no cylinder damage =)
Four strokes are cool too
Shuda bought a Yamaha 😂😂😂🤣🔥🔥.
IM JOKING CHILL
Hahaha, I've brought a Honda
Lol my 175 3 wheeler has bad big and little end bearings and I have been beating on it for 2 years now and it still hasn’t exploded. It rattles like a mofo at idle.
xD
The bikes a ts125x I reckon, they are oil injection and should never be run on premix or bottom end dies
Mine is a Suzuki Ts125R 1995 =) No oil injection.
Keep your oil topped up on your 2 stroke. Keep an oil can with you
It is premix =)
Is that a 125 with a 250 pipe? He looks down at the cylinder it says 124, look at the pipe and it looks like a 250 pipe with that extra curve? I am confusion!
No it's just the standard pipe for the Ts125r =)
@@MotoMuppet Ooooooh, i’ve watched this video a handfull of times and wondered and wondered? Thank’s😃
How often do you wash your bike? It's really bad for it to not get cleaned after every ride😮
As the mud builds up around the engine only causing more weight and rust
My bike gets cleaned after every time I go offroading =)
A 2 stroke engine made out of aluminum, rusting..... Interesting.
Ethan Elliott Why? If its not in air filter or fuel tank it doesnt matter. Cross bikes looks better if its dirty by mud.
Life_sober chill out bro it's always better to have a clean bike then dirty bike right? So shut your mouth😉☺️
This is why you should drive a 4 strike
Hahaa
No
4 Strike lmao
how do you blow a bike up? I'm new to riding so i don't understand
That things sounds absolutely horrible..
That sounds phenomenal lol
Love the fact all 3 are road legal.. I got myself a 91 cr125 :D
Very nice!!
I AM YOUR 600TH SUB!!!YAY!!!!
Thank you mate!
Funny how u "knew" what the problem was and still drove it💀
Fuck yeah, I was hella far from our truck so we just kept going to get me back as close as possible
That sucks. Did you get it back on the trail?
We were already heading back to the van, this was the end of the day of riding. I got towed about a mile back to the van =)
Engine starts knocking. Processeds to rev the shit out of it and continue riding. You are lucky. Next time shut it off right then and there to be safe. Tow it back out
It means your running it way too rich and it will fry it up it’s not getting enough lubrication
The yellow bikes look like the Suzuki RM bikes,I rode someones RM125 about 23 years ago back when I was too poor to afford a motorbike, it went well.
His dad bought it & rebuilt it because the engine was a bit tired,I rode it before the rebuild.
I was around a lot of thar d**k heads whose dad spoilt them rotten, how about seizing a brand new Yamaha YZ125 because they didn't read the instructions & didn't fill the oil tank up on a $6000 plus AUD bike, people in the motocross community thought he was an idiot because he nearly landed on someone after launching his bike over a dirt mound.
Oh ! His dad had to pay to have the engine rebuilt out of his own pocket because the warranty doesn't cover that fault which is the owners stupidity.
I know someone else rode a YZ100 which went like hell as well,it's surprising how well such a small 2 stroke goes.
I know how you feel! I have a friend who is lucky and has everything given to him on a plate haha
I only ride my 2 stroke for short periods at a time
That’s what happens when u engine break like that lol u could just hear that horrible engine breaking
That is incorrect, I've gotten rid of this bike and the guy that owns it now keeps blowing it up too, there is something seriously wrong with it. How I was engine braking in this video is completely fine. There are too many uneducated people who here "ENGINE BRAKING BLOWS UP YOUR BIKE" and thus believes any engine braking will destroy your motor... The only time engine braking will cause damage is if you are engine braking for prolonged periods, like down a huge hill or if you are dropping gears to slow you down.. I engine brake my Yz125 and I've never blown it up, I will get 60 hours out of my piston and I ride it hard.
What was broken? My bike sounds the same yesterday and i don't know what is broken
It is all listen at the end of the video =)
looks like crank bearings
put in a bigger pilot jet and brake away😜🤓
Here come the engine braking comment stream
A little long of a spark plug there bud
Bru why you keep engine braking tho
My bike sounds like this only just bought it has a hole in the bottom of engine aswell also had very little petrol and previous owner ran it without 2 stroke any ideas ?
Buy a new engine
it was already running pretty lean you could hear it cut out and that ratteling is called rodnock lol
It is all rebuilt now and running good =)
Ian Duijsens rod knock on a two stroke? Really? What rod(s)?
boy girl and a dad the same rod as in any other piston engine...
almostabeast240 right. After I posted that it struck me and should have deleted it. I have no idea why I didn't think about the connecting rod and was for some reason thinking push rods and was like, *this isn't a four stroke!!!*. Dumb.
2:18 rod knocknig
The guy on the RM 125 is literally me! I ride a rm 125 and wear a black helmet and red goggles!
That is a strange coincidence!
Graham Vandermark Doppelganger
Graham Vandermark only if we cared
Lol
I could hear the rattle of death at the start of the Vid, I wouldn't of took it out.
We had already been riding for hours, I started the video at that point as that is where the noise started.
Sounds like a clogged get wich is not good
Same exact thing happened to me but my piston was in peace's
That sucks man =(
from the beginning it seams lean af! that sucks sorry tho
Ahh shit happens. :D
3 old school bikes there :)
Indeed! =)
Where do you guys ride, any up in Cambridge?
Salisbury plains usually mate =)
Everyone saying its because of engine braking blah blah i always engine brake my 2 strokes for short periods of time and never had an issue nobody stopped to think that this bike is old and probably was due for it to happen the guy may have neglected it also.
I no longer own the bike, the new owner was also having issues with it blowing up all the time.. He thinks the oil pump is on its way out and only works when it wants to..
Moto Muppet oil pump ?? It’s a 2 stroke isn’t it ??
