Guildford Model Engineering Society Gala 2023

Guildford Model Engineering Society's 2023 Model Steam Train Gala Weekend filmed over the 1st and 2nd of July. In this video I cover the Ride on Railways being the 7 1/4 Gauge, 5 Inch Gauge and 3 1/2 Inch Gauge. There was plenty of Visiting Locomotives at this years Steam Gala some of the most impressive locomotives being a South African Railways 15F in 5 Inch Gauge and this was accompanied by two 3 1/2 Inch Gauge 15F's as well. There was also a LNER A3 Pacific and many other Main line and Narrow Gauge Locomotives.
I then cover the G Scale Garden Railway with a variety of steam powered and battery electric locomotives going round the track. Some of the models I filmed are 3 Types of Accucraft Shay Locomotives on a long freight train, Roundhouse Fowler and many more. Then I take a look at the Gauge 1 Layout with with a mixture of freight and passenger trains going round.
Finally we take a look at some of the models at the show being a few displays of Live Steam Toys being Mamod, Wilesco, Bowman and many more. Some Miniature Traction Engines were also driving around the rally field and there was Model Boats in the boating pools and a model display in the club house with all different aspects of model engineering from Steam Stationary Engines to Trains and Wagons.

To think compared to the 7 1/4s that 15f in 5" is massive

I know it's a beast great to see it in person. It's basically the size of a 7 1/4" gauge BR 9f. I'd love to see a 7 1/4" gauge 15f one day I know there is one about in the UK.
