Ex girlfriend broke up with me 4 years ago. She said things were not the same. I didn't expect that, I didn't want it to end. However, I respected her decision and went our separate ways. Then, 6 months later she contacts me and comes clean. There was another guy who was giving her attention. I was just starting my first job after graduating, so I was busier. She, basically, admited monkey branching (breaking up first so I couldn't say she was a cheater). But, turns out this other guy was just messing around and she ended up single. I told her I'd think about it and she gave this hug full of hope... Then, days later, I told her I wasn't going back with her. She was very upset. Looking back it was the correct decision.

I had this situation with an ex girlfriend. I moved on to other women and never called her after she "needed time for herself". She did the whole "How can you just move on like that? Did you ever even love me?" No reply blocked her and invested my time in the women I enjoyed being around.

He always ignored me whenever I tried to talk to him. I realised I was only in a relationship with him because he sort of blackmailed me into it. It was one of those "if you leave me, i will kill myself" kind of situation. So, I gave it a shot. Huge mistake. I broke up with him and wished him well on his life. He has been begging me to take him back and even threatened suicide. I didn't budge because I know it will get uglier.

It’s amazing how many men will tell you how their ex Left thinking the grass is greener on the other side and came back. Even women know that Women regret, yet so many of them still think the grass is greener. That is why you never ever take them back.
Can you take back a woman who leaves you? Yes. But second chances are not given they are earned. My wife and I sepped once. She earned a look at a second chance. Her look was a list of things that I needed to see and quantify her improvement (this included her getting therapy).
That was it. I gave her my list and told her she can do it or not do it. 🤷🏾♂️ It was totally up to her. Since the situation was her doing, I told her that I'm going to live my life. She had the list. I spent 1 yr living with an ex gf. Great time. Then two years living purely single. I lived in the same complex so we could co parent.
It's been 4 yrs since we reconciled. She knows her role, she's engaged, supportive and submissive. Because she had to earn her role back, she cares for it like a treasure.
She's now like a pitbull when it comes to her husband. The young hot hispanic mail lady looking at me... Wife makes sure I have no need to wander.

True story: my friend's wife is always bitching for small stuff. They have two grown children that are still with their mom. The wife asked for divorce. My friend moved out for several months. He told her that is she goes through with the divorce, he will never come back. Anyway, his wife hires q lawyer. Applies for divorce and got everything. By everything, my friend gave up his 50% of the house and her social security. He came in front of the divorce judge without a lawyer. Anything she wanted he said yes to. He told the judge he was giving up everything because he knows his kids will be with their mom. Fast forward three years. She now is begging him to come back. He talks to her but is absolutely against ever living with her.
I know this is an anecdote more than anything. However, I think this is more common than we think.

@@ljose007 it was an accident. I was returning from lunchtime rounds at the hospital, was stopped for a train, the state trooper had a moment of inattention, hit me from behind hard. Tore my seat off the floorboard and flipped me back nearly unconscious and sent my car over the track just as the train cleared it, my car hit the crossing guard rail which was still down. One or two seconds earlier, I would not be typing this. All in all, pretty lucky. Have half strength back in my left arm, the one served by the nerve root compressed by the cervical damage, and the C6,7 vertebrae are fused surgically. I can work, my dexterity is good, can do surgery. Could have been worse.
Shucks, the now ex-fiancé could have NOT broke our engagement. She is a very hypergamous narcissist. I am not just saying that. We took couples therapy. The psych guy working with us diagnosed her. She was not amused. It could have been MUCH worse!

A couple of times I ran into this same problem!! Girl breaks up with me, leaves, then a week later comes crawling back to me!! After that the second time "she splits", it is always worse than the first time, and that is when I realized, "what did we really have to begin with?"!!! Which that question led to the second question....a question mind you, that even I couldn't answer!!! Because the answer to me always seemed to be "NOTHING"!!! And keep in mind I was around 23 when I realized this, which was back in the 1980s!! Too many people (these days especially) hang onto the fantasy of "this time it will be different". But that isn't how it actually works, more so when you ignore the signs that were there all along! And people who ignore history ARE DOOMED to repeat it the longer then kid themselves into the notion that "history doesn't matter"!!!
And the reason I came to that conclusion was because of a relationship I was in with a divorced mother of two back in 1986! I dated her for nearly two years, helping to raise HER two kids, only to have her cheat on me time and time again! The kicker was I was sitting home with HER KIDS, while she was out cheating on me, then SHE BLAMED ME for why she was cheating!! So what "good times" did we really have??? Answer: NONE
