I did a custom driveshaft on my old Yukon where I swapped in a 4l80. I was prepping for a turbo. Never got to really test the driveshaft because a cop rear ended me and totalled my build.
@@TheSundaeDrive I had a build forum thread and thankfully it still drove. I sold it to someone that wanted to fix it up. Took that money and got an AWD 08 Yukon Denali with the 6.2. Been thinking of an LSA blower for a couple years. ;-)
Did changing to a performance driveshaft fix any (if any) shakiness you’ve might of experienced at speeds between 65-75mph? I’m just curious because my Chevy has the “chevy shake” sometimes and someone recommended me to change my driveshaft and if I did not want to spend so much yet to just replace the universal joints for new ones.
The two piece drive shafts are supposed to help more with the shake. I don't know notice the shake as often or as severe but I still get some vibration occasionally
My L86, with longtubes. Hits 115mph a lot. I probably should do the driveline but im curious what speeds people were having issues and or is the L86 packing a stronger one?

@@TheSundaeDrive I have a leveling kit on the front using a set of Bilstein 5100 series shocks. Stock ride height on the rear. No wonder why my truck was shaking at 140mph
Lol that would do it

Why not change the tail shaft seal while it's out?

Was it factory limited to 100 or no? If not, you probably have a stronger driveshaft. Never a bad idea to upgrade tho

Some trucks have different gearing and I believe different drive shafts. I think the RST models aren't limited at 100 but I could be wrong

I do not believe so. Only needed for high hp and high speed applications from what I understand
