Thank you for this video. I watched it and then used WD40 to clean all the rust off the chain and the sprockets of an old bike using the same brushing technique. It worked like a charm. Did not need anything other than the WD40 and the brush.
Best Grease concoction. 2/3 heavy machinery Grease, 1/3 regular car grease for bearings. I know it's specific, I'm just passing on the knowledge. And sprinkle on some WD-40, of course.
How would great remove current rust man lol that's why he's brushing it off. The grease helps remove while brushing and keeps it more gentle than just scratching the metal+rust with the brush without grease. Only a chemical can just be placed on Rust and dissolve it but nobody wants to put chemicals on their bike chain as it will weaken it and may be too harsh. So bam, a brush and some grease, then clean it off and use the lube and we should be good to go.
Thanks, with the noise (airport) I guess you get use to it. I've lived out in the country ( 12 miles of dirt roads and had chickens) for years and now in a town. I loved both. Keep pedaling! 🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
@boxrexarts blinker fluid doesn't exist. That's some old dad joke. Use wd40 like this video or ask someone at your local bike shop and they'll give you a hand

@@larrymartineau7507 can i wash the chain off with water after applying WD40 and brushing? Or do i need to wipe?
Some suggest you should not be using WD-40 as it is harmful!
My chain got rusted in a month LOL
Glad I can clean it now!
Good luck, If you keep the chain greased up I've had them last for a long time.🚴🚴🚴
Clean and lubricate your chain every few rides or very minimum once before and after a riding season
@@chris103193 i wish i had better tools for cleaning it though haha

Nice, I see so many bikes with chains that are squeaky dry.🚴🚴🚴
Grease is needed to prevent future rust, but does it remove previously built up rust as well?
no, thats why he is removing the rust this way

Havw you thought about maybe not de-rusting a perfectly rusty bike chain?!?! Make the world rusty again! 🌍🌎🌏
I love this product !
Mix baking soda and salt and after 2 days the chain i like new.
Hi, where do you get those brushes? Thx.
Local hardware store. 🚴♂️
Cant you just remove it and put it in some vinegar over night and wipe it clean?
the vinegar might be too acidic which might result in the chain to dissolve.
You better remove the chain from the bike and apply rust converter to the chain to make it clean inside out .
You're exactly right, for a good scrubbing. 🚴👍
Can i use brake fluid?
