How to True a Bike Wheel Fast – Fix Wobbles in Under a Minute!
🚴♂️ Amazon link to spoke wrench 👉 amzn.to/4imWb4z
In this quick and easy tutorial, I’ll show you how to straighten a bike wheel in less than a minute using simple tools like a spoke wrench or even an adjustable wrench (if you’re careful!). Whether your wheel has a slight wobble or you're looking to fix it on the go, this guide covers everything you need to know to true a bike wheel without removing it from the bike.
I’ll demonstrate step-by-step how to flip your bike upside down, use the brake pads as a guide, and adjust the spokes to bring your wheel back into alignment. Using a cross-sectional view, I’ll explain how the spokes push and pull the rim to create balance and how tightening or loosening spoke nipples shortens or lengthens the spokes to correct wobble.
This video features:
Close-up footage of a spoke and nipple adjustment.
Clear explanations of spoke tension and wheel alignment.
Practical tips for using everyday tools to get the job done fast.
By the end of this video, you’ll have the confidence to true your bike wheel on the spot, whether you’re on the trail, at home, or in the middle of your commute. Perfect for mountain bikes, road bikes, and hybrids!

Oh my, what an incredibly clear and concise video! I hope this fixes the wheel on my brompton as easily as it fixed the wheel in your MTB!!
It worked great!
I hope so too! All it takes is a small twist like a 1/2 turn on the spoke. All the best🚴♂️🚴♂️

I just purchased this as i run ultra marathons, I hope this will help that rawness on my groin area,i wish i had this during my service
I hope it helps as well. It sounds painful. 🚴♂️🚴♂️
Hi there, why is my s-works SL5, which has 2 chainrings and 11 cassette rings (sprockets) at the back, not called a 22 speed bike? Thanks.
I'm sure you could called it a 22 speed if you were talking to a Huffy owner. 🚴♂️🚴♂️👍😲
One of my rich neighbors collects kislux bags, but because sheâs so well groomed from head-to-toe, no one would ever think her bags were fake!
thats amazing coming from a fake AI account.
FYI AliExpress likely has these at $1. Just remember seatpost shims do increase potential water ingress into frames (directly to the bottom bracket).
That is an excellent point. I can visualize water coming up off the wheel and really soaking this area if you don't have fenders. I keep forgetting to check AliExpress for bike parts, another great tip! Keep pedaling!! 🚴♂️🚴♂️
This shim is to short (60mm), must be 100mm Cane Creek shims are a better option
I would agree a long shim would be better in high stress situations. Thanks 🚴♂️🚴♂️
This shim is to short (60mm), must be at least 100mm Cane Creek shims are a better option
I would agree a long shim would be better in high stress situations. Thanks 🚴♂️🚴♂️
Thanks for the tips but wow! How do you live in such a noisy area?
Thanks, with the noise (airport) I guess you get use to it. I've lived out in the country ( 12 miles of dirt roads and had chickens) for years and now in a town. I loved both. Keep pedaling! 🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
Mine doesn't have that magnetic resistance bit...

Actually there are 13-Speed chain from Campy Ekar
You're exactly right. I didn't include because they aren't very common. Yet... Thanks for the comment 👍🚴♂️
Wow, that was easy. Thanks
You're welcome! 👍 Keep pedaling! 🚴♂️
Thanks
Glad it helped. Keep pedaling! 🚴
The tip should go a little downwards for greater comfort, I say this from experience.
I'll have to give that a try! 👍 🚴🚴
Something you need to warn people about is that E Bikes are heavy. I have one that weighs about 100 lbs and it was definitely a learning curve to get used to. 🫤 Of course mine is the cheapest one known to man but it gets me to and from places.
I bought a Roguoo memory foam seat for my ebike and I love it. Not expensive and gives cushion to this old ladies tush 🤣 The original seat was hard plastic that gave me saddle sores 🙁
Turning the thumb screw at the shifter will make it easier to shift? I just bought a really used bike and the shifters are stiff and unresponsive. 🙁 I need this bike to get to and from work.
Trouble shooting shifters can be tough. Yes the barrel adjuster can be adjusted/turned, the cable might be gummed up, the derailleur might be bent. Ugh... I wish I was there in person to help. 🚴♂️
@@diymountainbikeme too but I'm pretty smart so I will figure it out. 😁 Thanks for replying so quickly.
Thank you for an excellent video! I realized a while back that many of these multitools had some of what I needed, but not everything or too much. So I took several multitools apart and picked out only what individual tools were needed for my specific bike and then bolted them together to create a new customized multitool. Lighter and has just what I need.
That is an awesome idea. One of these companies should offer a "custom" tool like that. Keep pedalling 🚴
That's not a multi tool it's an anchor.
Absolutely it drags you down. I'm slow so that's okay 👍🚴
🚴♂ Amazon link to M20 👉 amzn.to/3Aq3uY5 🚴♂ I still love the M19 here's a link 👉 amzn.to/48JDymG
Suntour NCX is a game changer for heavy/loaded bikes. I was contemplating wider tires and a new saddle for my ebike, but with this seatpost, saddle is ok and 40mm tires are ok. I was doing it wrong before :)
That is awesome 👍. It's a great product at a competitive price. Keep pedalling 🚴
Does it get in the way when you're pedaling? I have a stand where it's angled too much and I can only mount it forwards so my heels rub sometimes
On my bike I have plenty of clearance to my heel. This might be different on bikes with small tires.
@@diymountainbike I'm riding a 29er so i guess it's just the stays and kickstand angling
Что это сколько это стоит
Called SR Suntour NCX, cost around $100 usd
Best Grease concoction. 2/3 heavy machinery Grease, 1/3 regular car grease for bearings. I know it's specific, I'm just passing on the knowledge. And sprinkle on some WD-40, of course.
Nice, I see so many bikes with chains that are squeaky dry.🚴🚴🚴
Some freewheel have 11 teeth for the highest gear - I have one.
Yes, for sure.🚴🚴
I have a 26er BMX, my rear axle is big, 14mm nuts to be exact.. do u think it can fit on that.? Thanks in advance..
It should work fine. A nice trainer for the winter.🚴🚴🚴
@ thanks mate 💪🏻
Why can't you just leave the adaptor?
You can, just remember to screw the valve back in.🚴🚴
thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊 🚴🚴
I am having butt sweating problem and i can’t able to wear any jeans expect black jeans, does it helps to me?
yes it does. I have been using it a couple years. I workout and do underground construction
That's what it's made for.🚴🚴🚴
Thanks guys :)
hi - i have a question //have a juiced city scrambler ,and the cadence sensor started working poorly after left in elements - rain specifically - is it a fixable issue thanks tim
It might help to clean it. The root cause could be many things.
@@diymountainbike thanks - i did clean it - and it improved thanks
I got a tube of this stuff but i habe to stomp on it to come out of the tube and once is does its a teal color instead of blue and is super thick also its smells terrible anyone know why its like this
It doesn't sound like polylube 1000.
@@diymountainbike it says its polylube and its by park tool should i take it back to the store i bought it from
Same here, it was perfectly fine when last used but not used it in a while and is now hard to squeeze out as you described. I purchased Sept 2022 so maybe the tube doesn't have a good shelf life.
Thanks for this video you're a lifesaver 👍😃🙏
Glad to hear it!🚴👍
Your video is very good. Can you help me please? I have a Hyper Havoc Mountain Bike 26" and I need the rear brake cable, can I buy it on eBay or Walmart? I don't know which one to buy that fits exactly on my bike. Do you have a link you can send me? Thank you very much!
Without actually seeing the bike, I'm not sure what to recommend. 🚴🚴🚴 I hopefully it works out for you.
You’re a time waster and you sound like a disabled nerd
I’m sure it’s a competent grease. What you don’t say is why this $28 pound can of grease is any better than an $8 pound can of typical marine grease. Bicycles operate in wet environments, so a marine grease is appropriate. As for the rest of a bicycle’s greasing needs, they are low temperature, low speed, and low pressure applications, all well satisfied by any marine NLGI 2 grease. Nothing on a bicycle approaches the abuse bearings on small boat trailer wheels have to endure.
You might be exactly right. I'm just speaking from my experience and what we use at the bike shop. 🚴🚴🚴
Good video. I've used Ibera for years. The clip system is really easy to use and the quality is good.
Good to hear! I commute to work 4 days a week with it. The bags have held up really well.🚴🚴
Thank you so Much for sharing .
You are so welcome!🚴🚴
Ugh I wanted to know the mechanism of the presta valve, not how to use one
I understand, maybe a new video.
Can you rotate the angle? Can you put in horizontal position? Basic questions that should be part of a review
Great suggestion 🚴
Man your all over the internet reviewing products that you probably get for free or sent to you by the company to review....I simply don't trust you folks...Cheers...
I can honestly say, I've bought 2 of these seatposts. I love them. If describing an awesome product, then making a micro-commision of about a dollar offends you I'm sorry. Be well and happy biking.
"Upgrade" from what? A 2x9? For what kind of riding? I'm glad you like it, but you haven't fully covered the the "why". I've never been one to ride on really technical trails or jumps, so I have never had a use for 1x. In fact, I've moved back to a 3x to have enough range and granularity between gears for a casual "all-road" style bike.
Absolutely correct, making it simpler using a budget crankset. Thanks 👍🚴
use an adjustable stem riser . this allows the existing handle bars to come UP and back towards the rider . because it's adjustable the position can be altered at any time to suit the riders needs. this can be done in ,even when on a ride .
Yes, that works as well. 👍🚴
You better remove the chain from the bike and apply rust converter to the chain to make it clean inside out .
You're exactly right, for a good scrubbing. 🚴👍
I have the exact same Bafang setup , but for some reason, the headlight goes off when the tail light come on. Both lights work fine independently, but will not come on at the same time. Any ideas?
That is interesting. I'm not sure how to fix it though. 👍👍🚲
How is it holding up?
I'm just setting it up again for the winter. It's held up really well. 👍🚴♂️
That was the answer, but what was the question? Not much doubt that you can mount a tubeless capable tyre with a (compatible, unpunctured) tube on pretty much any rim. The question I was interested in was <<Can You Put a Tubeless Tire on a Standard Bike Rim, tubeless?>>. A much more complex question. The answer for me was << 'yes' but you may not be able to inflate it>>
Oh I get it. Keep pedalling 🚴🚴🚴
clearly there was a tube???
I was thinking that same. Keep pedalling 🚴🚴
Is it safe to turn on the lock of front shock in a long period of time ? Will it break the shock ?
Absolutely not, mine is on nearly 100% of the time.🚴😀 Keep pedalling
I think the video says the answer is yes, no additional video required.
Hey man, at least the video is less than 3 minutes long and dives straight into answering the titular question. Most videos like this are like 25mins these days with a ton of backstory and filler.
Longer videos have more ads. I'm just trying to answer the question fast and provide a tip or two.🚴🚴🚴
So, the video worked, without a video I can't make a thumbnail. Keep pedalling 🚴🚴😀
@@diymountainbike Just sayin’, you do you.
