In the USA, individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.
Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. Seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for those seeking guidance.
I've remained in touch with a financial analyst since the start of my business. Amid today's dynamic market, the key difficulty is pinpointing the right time to buy or sell when dealing with trending stocks - a seemingly simple task but challenging in reality. My portfolio has grown by more than $600k within just a year, and I've entrusted my advisor with the task of determining entry and exit points.
@@james.atkins88 Could you guide me on how to get in touch with your advisor? My funds are being eroded by inflation, and I'm seeking a more lucrative investment strategy to effectively utilize them.

Thanks, I just googled her name and her website came up right away. It looks interesting so far. I'm going to book a call with her and let you know how it goes.
I've managed a homeless shelter for 4 years. TRUST ME, these people you see out in the street don't want the services available because there are rules and random drug tests that are required to be in those programs.
Did you ever stop to realize they are on drugs because they are homeless and lots of other reasons? If their lives have to be perfect in order to get into a shelter, I'm afraid that won't happen. Lol It's like the chicken and the egg.
@L K I'm not talking about throwing their waste. I've known some homeless people also. They suffered from true chemical imbalances and could not hold a job,had no insurance. I don't think any of us truly knows what we would do if it was us in the same circumstances . Brother could you lend a hand? It may well be an angel in disguise. You never know.
Agreed. I live nearby and walk by him everyday. I found it interesting how he wanted to immediately blame and victimize, despite being offered a solution.
I was at the gas station and noticed a car full of belongings and a lady with her dog. I gave her $20 and she just started bawling and was extremely grateful. When I was in my 20’s I was homeless for 2 months and lived in my car. I know how it feels to be in that situation.
I always wonder how can the typical family with average income afford a higher rate+ more expensive home? in my area multi generational home is becoming the norm . Don’t forget to add the inflation which just this week was 9.1 on the CPI , producers index 11.3, it’s going to be a rough ride for sure
This is why being informed pays off. I see any financial market condition as a plethora to make wealth. I had my $80k diversified and it has grown by 3x in the past 7 months with compounding, venturing doesn’t necessarily boil down to funds but you also have to be informed, be patient and back it up with good guidance
Insightful... I curiously looked up her name on the internet and I found her site and i must say she seems proficient, wrote her an email outlining my objectives. Thanks for sharing.

Such behaviour would be more than sufficient to earn an involuntary admission to a closed mental health unit in Australia. When ones judgment is impaired to this degree, you are clearly a risk to yourself and others. Your leaders need to provide appropriate care and services, enough funds exist. I feel so bad for the business owner Paul. I'm sure he doesn't want to be rude but he needs to be heard. This bothers him so much. He can barely get his words out he's so bothered.
"...owner doesn't want to be RUDE"!?! The homeless man is openly deficating in a bag in front of the entrance to his business. The business owner pays property taxes, which I'm sure in that area are astronomical, needs a business license and pays fees. Why isn't someone simply rounding these unfortunate individuals up and taking them to a place where they can get help? Because we changed the laws in this country which would insist on help for the mentally ill. And the $$$ it would cost to buy already existing property and pay health care workers to assist, is going into the pockets of the government officials...smh

Afterall, the only problem is that they don’t have homes and if they did their lifestyle and behavior would magically turn around
the business owner said it perfectly: "the rights of the homeless cannot exceed the rights of business owners and homeowners... there needs to be a balance"

They lost their mind a long time ago. Like the restaurant owner said “they need to be pulled into care” and yes against their will because they lost that too.
Well everybody wanted to close all of the insane asylums in the 70s and 80s. So where did you all expect those people to go? Did everyone think mental illness was just going to not exist anymore just because you closed all of the psychiatric hospitals down? That's not how it works.
All of these politicians say the same exact thing. "I have empathy for these people but it is not my problem". And then they point the finger at someone else.
When I was growing up in So. Cal. in the 70's the state had a series of mental health facilities around the state that treated exactly these types of people. While it kept them off the streets, their outcomes were not very inspiring as they were basically drugged up most of the time and treated like prisoners.
There is a boomerang effect now due to how overly restrictive mental asylums were in the 18 and most of the 1900s. We’re people once could have someone put away practically forever or be highly medicated for literally nothing now patient rights are overly cautious so that a person has to be an active danger to self or other. As in you have to currently feel like your life is at risk in a situation before a police will come and take someone in for mental evaluation‘s. Movies like one flew over the cuckoo’s nest basically the worst case scenario. So now that gray area where you can’t just take someone in. The law airs on the side of overly cautious towards a patient’s rights. Which means clearly psychotic or people who need psychiatric help cannot be forced to take medication or restraint. Leaving them on the street if that’s where they are. It’s a big freaking mess. It’s a total disaster.
Perfect example;the person in red with the raw ass and sore/wound can’t/ isn’t going to take care of themselves needs to be forced. But that’s where the huge problem/solution comes in. When they eliminated these law/practices/budget they didn’t leave wiggle room for mental health discretion . Back to the drawing board, it matters who you vote for people it really does✌🏽
@@othersbyuri the problem is that people make voting a popularity contest when really it's supposed to be about who the best man for the job is. You're not supposed to vote for the most likeable candidate, you're supposed to vote for the most qualified one. I'm gonna end the conversation here rather than getting into a political debate with you or anyone else who happens to hop on here, but I think we can both agree that this has to stop.

Except if you see the video, they asked a whole bunch of homeless if they would accept help and housing from the city and they were rejected every time. Being homeless may be traumatic, but if you are homeless by choice and refuse help then you should not be allowed to break the law and just wantonly destroy public property.
That's why i had the foresight to buy a van. Just never know. Keep a cot in the back, some food. When i go camping, i don't bring a tent anymore, just sleep in my van.
Well you're not the same kind of homeless that the people in the video are. These people are drug addicts who lost their home because of their drug problem and can't get another one because of their drug problem. If I lost my house today I wouldn't be like the people in the video, I would just be a normal human without a home like you were.
The problem is we can’t let the homeless decide whether or not they need to enter a shelter, rehab, or mental health facility. We have to force them or else they won’t go. Police, social workers, private security and the community itself need to force them or jail them or relocate them outside of major cities.
I sympathized with the homeless. I had to work late one night and when I got off the busses had stopped running. At that time I didn't have a car or cell phone. I had to walk till my legs got tired and slept on a park bench. Fortunately no one bothered me, but that night l realized what the homeless go through. Sleeping in the cold weather and being hungry with no way to bathe i s no fun. My sympathy to those people.

Yes, it is a new term democrat created to re-direct attention. If they can't solve the problem, they will just change the definition of a word. Wa-la........there is no more homeless problem, cause they are just "un-housed' people now.
How is someone who is homeless automatically a criminal? The word unhoused is being used to help humanize the HUMANS who are not guilty of anything other than being poor, mentally ill, and uneducated. They are NOT criminals. They are still people who are desperate for help even if they refuse because they are afraid of being held against their will. As anyone would be. Karma is real and it knows what you are thinking and what is in your heart. Remember that when you judge a situation you know nothing about.
The major problem from homeless people is mental health, there's no reasoning with them at all. Just tired of see homeless people disturbing others and causing businesses trouble for no reason. I say just force them into self care facilities or put them in jail if they refuse.

Fentanyl destroy humans mentally and physically beyond the point of repair very quickly. Street homeless are fentanyl addicts, and street encampments are open air drugs markets brewing all sorts of crime. They gradually destroy everything around themselves.
The problem is that due to political correctness and wokeness, the word "homeless" nowadays is used too broadly. There is a DIFFERENCE between a “homeless person” and a “street person”. There are "homeless people" who live in cars or vans (or couch surf) but are otherwise law-abiding citizens who are clean and sober, and often hold down jobs. The woman in this video is a STREET person - she won’t (or can’t) seek a bed at a homeless shelter because shelters have RULES, one of which is a prohibition on drugs and alcohol. Many street people are addicts and refuse to live by those rules, so they choose instead to live on the streets.

It's sad because this is what they worked for the customers they have now they will have to start from fresh if they move losse costumers and spend money 💰 and no guarantee for success. 😒. I understand those are homeless and all of this stuff especially the part where mentaly ill can't afford healthcare they need, can't take care of themselves so they lose houses and money and endup on streets but there absolutely needs to be some border there is something like common sense where we all know how to behave in public how we should treat older people ,kids ,pregnant women and be nice and what they do is just unacceptable I understand most likely some of them don't understand lots about life they need help and be taken off the streets unfortunately a key do getting mentaly ill people off the street is to take them by force to a place that will be a welcoming place where those people will be treated like humans given all needed medication and therapy depending on their needs where they will have their own rooms and some items or other stuff that will give them some sense of freedom but also ability to heal and find something like a hobby that will help them stay on the right path but also where they will be safe if they would really want to help them . Because those psyh wards with metal furniture bad food no therapy only pills with nasty angry workers will not help them and unfortunately those type of people will not willingly accept any help even if that is a good place. And if there is a part of people who by their choice want to stay on the streets they should build some homeless camp outside the city where they will be given some simple basic housing where they can at least have bathroom and a bed and small table top and let them stay there because if someone is consciously denying help then let's leave them alone but on our terms that will stop this madness with people shiting on our streets where all of us want to walk including our kids and pets this is just disgusting that our kids and dogs have to walk on facies while in humanised cities and later this crap goes into our homes ... this is just my opinion 🤷 didn't mean to offend anyone but just wanted to make a point that this needs to change otherwise this wouldn't change based on what is done now ..
The fact that Nithya Raman told these business owners to stop sending her graphic images is infuriating. These business owners, their guests, and the general public have to view, hear, smell and experience this daily. I would encourage her constituents to continue sending these images to her, flooding her inbox, mail, and social media, as well as demand to see an itemized audit of what steps she is taking to do something about it. I guarantee she hasn't done even the slightest whatsoever. Yes, I realize she doesn't have the power to completely solve this issue, but she does have resources. She doesn't care, she already got elected, her job is done until the next election for whatever office she will pursue next, just like every other Democratic Socialist that is only interested in her petty agenda, not the good of the constituents she convinced to vote for her. I'll bet that if these vagrants were in front of her house or taking a dump in the doorway of her place of work something will be done about it pretty damn quick!
It seems like these homeless folks want to remain homeless. They don't want to be helped. Why should they? Being homeless means not having to pay rent, not having to pay mortgage, no having to pay utility bills, get free food donations, free clothing donations, live where you want, when you want, never having to work a job, pay taxes nor take on any responsibilities. I once confronted a homeless individual who described his life as being "free" as he liked the thought of wondering aimlessly, living, sleeping and staying wherever he wanted without any cares. It seemed like it was almost a fetish to him and yes he seemed a bit off like most of them, dazed-out on drugs/alcohol or whatever. Seeking assistance, means they would have to have take on some responsibility at some point, like working a job and having to earn your own food so that's why they always decline help. People need to stop showing them so much compassion as they are just encouraging their rogue lifestyle.
"We caught up with Councilwoman Raman... after fruitless attempts to set up an interview" This shows the typical contempt that these woke politicians have for the suffering public, the taxpayers. Props to Gina Silva and Fox 11 for asking the tough questions.
Having lived in various states, California is the only state where I have witnessed this level of homelessness. And, as it has spilled from the beaches, to sidewalks, parks, middle-class neighborhoods and freeway off ramps , California has not taken adequate legislative action. So here we are...

My brother has schizophrenia. I am very thankful that he has myself and my family to care for him and make sure he takes his medicine. Many homeless clearly have mental health issues and should be forced into care. I live in San Diego county and the problem has gotten worse. I have sympathy for the homeless and try to help when I can. But when someone becomes a danger to society they should be placed in a facility where they are being cared for and given medicine to help.
Totally agree; there are so many people out there roaming around without their medication and who haven't one to monitor them. Shelters have rules and regulations and drug testing, many of these people won't conform. If you are into full blown addiction you won't agree to go into a shelter; that's only gonna happen when someone gets clean; it's a vicious cycle.
How do you help him take his medicine? I have a family member who refuses to take their meds. We can't force them and hospitals refuse to help. We are at a total loss as to what to do.

A lack of housing is when someone in this city who works hard, makes $100k and still can't afford a home. Affordable housing is not going to solve the problems of a person who spent their lives consuming any and all drugs only to become psychotic. LA does not have a homeless problem, it has a drug problem.
The drug problem is nationwide my friend. Sure there will always be the few that just don't want to participate in society. But that's not the case with most homeless people. Drugs are a coping mechanism. Most homeless, base on data, have not consumed drugs all their lives. Something traumatic happened, enter drugs to cope and here we are.
I agree. Most of the homeless live this way because of drugs. They all come to California because they can live on the street year round and not worry about freezing to death in the winter. We also have very lax laws.
These people don't want homes, bills or responsibility at any price. If they were given a 3,000SF house and told "Rent is only $100 a month", they would miss every payment.

While I don't agree with you 100 percent, homelessness can happen to anyone as a result of many number of things. From financial crisis/failure to pay taxes on utilities, overall everyday life needs, mental and physical health decline, and often times just straight up falling through the cracks and not being able to build up their own life without help and being screwed from the start...For those who became homeless for reasons not self inflicted I pray and truly feel for them, now if someone becomes homeless because of substance abuse and overall has no regards for how they get their fix or who they may hurt or do worse to someone to get what they want...I don't pity wreckless and self destructive homeless drug junkies because they only have themselves to blame for the metaphorical and oftentimes literal holes they dig for themselves especially if they're at rock bottom and continue to do the same thing again and again despite being in bad shape and expecting something different to happen.
addiction and homelessness go hand in hand, addiction can cause homelessness, and those who become homeless before they are addicted turn to drugs from the homeless they hang out with.

That guy literally threw human shit at someone. And the business owner didn't even do anything wrong to the shit thrower. What did the business owner do that warranted the man throwing literal shit at him?
We need to provide proper housing, mental healthcare, and jobs to the homeless. We also need more public toilets in cities. That being said, the homeless guy shouldn't have thrown literal shit at the business owner. It was wrong of him to take out his frustrations on an innocent bystander who didn't do anything to him. Both statements can be true at the same time.
The every city in the entire state needs to take a stand. This is inhumane to allow people to live like this. Bottom line there should be no ability to refuse services. They will need to be forced into services or live in the forest or desert, but they cannot live in city limits on the street. I’m confused why this is so hard to accomplish. This is a public health crisis.
@@philipe5654 closed or in states of disrepair. Good luck trying to find people to staff them if you built new ones. More than half are just addicts and need rehab. Rural environments work best for that. These people need to be far away from their drug dealers so that relapse becomes less likely.

I live in a high crime area In British Columbia "Vancouver Island" and unfortunately see the results of this toxic drug on homeless people on a regular basis...
There isn't enough facilities and money to provide for the homeless and mentally ill much less the homeless drug addicts. The state is spending all its money and providing homes and transportation to the illegal immigrants! They want to make sure there's a large number of cheap labor for businesses .
Here in Seattle, it's the same thing...the homeless don't want help. They choose to ruin things for everyone. They really need to be put in institutions and locked up where they can hopefully be in sanitary conditions. They need to really be swept off the streets and put in shelters and institutions. I know this sounds cruel, but they make the decision to not accept help, so it's hard to feel sorry for them.

@Fox News I know you DON'T really care about the solution. Anyways, I disagree with the your comment that the ONLY WAY to solve this problem is by having more homes. If not interested, then be prepared to report many such incidents for fun and TRP
I'm surprised the business owners haven't paid thugs to clean up their spots. An organized mafia would do a better job than do nothing thugs in blue. Crime is exploding and completely underreported. People will have to start taking action into their own hands.
The dopey cops and DA won't do anything to police crime. But if you try to organize citizens patrols they will likely ruthlessly throw the book at you for being a "vigilante"
My buddy owns a bar in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco, we've gotten so fed up with the constant harassment by meth smoking, fentanyl shooting, homeless addicts that we've started posting up on the roof of an adjacent building with pellet guns. We made a little "camouflaged" blind so no one can see where the shots are coming from, and we target those who've been resistant to pleas that they go somewhere else. I know it sounds barbaric, but we're at our wits end. I don't feel good about shooting addicts, but it's the only thing we've found to work. After a few shots to the back or stomach, they eventually get the message and f off.
@@Darthdoodoo Idk, that sounds like it could lead to an outcome similar to over prescribing antibiotics and ending up with antibiotic resistant bacteria. They don't want help because it means they need to comply to rules regulations,so best to give them nothing ,use resources for people with potential,if these specimens were given homes they would trash them.
I have been walking by that homeless man, the one who threw the feces, for almost two years. I've seen people buy him coffee and food and that is why he is still there! There has definitely been an uptick of homeless people around Ventura Blvd post-covid lock-down. The man that threw feces is one of two homeless people I always see there. Sometimes you get a little more than that.
How is homelessness in tokyo? If they behave like regular civilians, and respect the space of others, are they tolerated? In Germany they can sleep in the city, as long as during daytime they make space for business to be conducted. We rarely have areas that are open during the night, but if thats the case then they dont sleep directly there but a few roads away. When an area often has problems with homeless people blocking spaces the police will walk around in the morning, waking them up at 7 am, like an hour before business begins. Our homelessness problem isnt as bad as in LA or other US cities, somewhere in the city is always space for someone to sleep without disturbance for either party.

Then we don't need politicians
The problem is we can’t let the homeless decide whether or not they need to enter a shelter, rehab, or mental health facility. We have to force them or else they won’t go. RIGHT
The problem is that due to political correctness and wokeness, the word "homeless" nowadays is used too broadly.

The drug problem is nationwide my friend. Sure there will always be the few that just don't want to participate in society. But that's not the case with most homeless people. @@philipe5654 Shut down by Ronald Reagan in the 80s
@@philipe5654 a lot of people these days are asking themselves that same question, outreach workers, safe injection cites, and government run homeless shelters and more have done little to stop this fentanyl crisis across north America, and with a new drug called " Protonitazene" i think it's called? is on the horizon which is supposed to be much stronger than fentanyl is making addicts go from high and crazy to completely nuts and with the increase of violent crimes and addicts refusing treatment, a lot of people are starting to beleive, that the only way to go is to bring back the old institution style hospitals or "insane asylums" as they were once called 100 years ago, and the word "insane" seems to be the only one that accurately describes the behavior of addicts while high on this poison.
Lack of housing or lack of working ? Is the problem
It doesn't sound cruel, more like stupid, do you think there is enough place to "keep" that much people, seriously? Do you think money grows on trees too, can you imagine how much it would cost?
There are no easy fix to a problem this magnitude.
@@BGatts666 With the way this country sends money overseas and gives to immagrants, yes it has more than enough money to help it's own citizens. But that is not what this country does anymore.

The kind of homeless people shown here should be locked up in a mental hospital not roaming free.
There used to be mental hospitals back in the day but they start to close down all of them and just let them out and this is what you see.
@@yana6118 it's sad that we might have to resort to this. I felt bad, thinking it was so barbaric. But the mental hospitals just gotta be better. Take them in, so they won't harm themselves or others
@@OReily08080 It’s not barbaric. Anyone who is a danger to society must be put in some kind of institution: rehab/psych ward or jail
And all the people that are saying that, aren't going to apply for jobs in mental hospitals. It just sounds good. It's just transferring the problem onto social workers and healthcare staffs.
If we all send our deepest sympathy, empathy, love, and prayers and all that at the same time we can probably house up 5 homeless people ❤
screw that time to stop being nice to these criminals

I'm surprised the business owners haven't paid thugs to clean up their spots. An organized mafia would do a better job than do nothing thugs in blue. Crime is exploding and completely underreported. People will have to start taking action into their own hands.

I'm surprised no business owners have tried the approach of just giving them a bunch of money for drugs and letting them od themselves
@@Darthdoodoo Idk, that sounds like it could lead to an outcome similar to over prescribing antibiotics and ending up with antibiotic resistant bacteria. Closing the mental institutions decades ago was a big mistake. These people don’t want housing assistance because they would need to follow rules. The mental institutions were fenced, housing, counseling, food and medication was provide. So was exercise, craft shops and entertainment the patients took part in.
Exactly! Solved for the severely mentally ill. Now what about the drug addiction problem?

youre very close to being correct very close many housing projects that claim to be established for getting homeless people off the streets are actually death camps and the homeless are well aware of the deceit and trickery at play most of them are anyway. it's pandemonium because of all the factors Ive mentioned in an above comment as well as all the violence and desperation erupting in the eastern hemisphere. How can you ask someone who is not mentally sound if they need help? There's a point when people are a danger to self and other's, living homeless is a danger to self.
We are dealing with these very same issues here in Seattle. So many businesses have closed here because of the homeless situation.
How are people so brainwashed in these cities that they don’t realize it’s 100% because they keep voting for democrats? It is very, very strange.
Every city has this, Canada too. Vancouver is one of the worst.
They don't want help because it means they need to comply to rules regulations,so best to give them nothing ,use resources for people with potential,if these specimens were given homes they would trash them.
It's a pandemic
People are dealing with a homeless crisis in Denver, Austin, Albuquerque and Portland too.
Stop giving them food.

I live in Tokyo and that kind of stuff wouldn’t be tolerated here. Those homeless would’ve been arrested a loooooong time ago.
Sorry for long text, i just find this interesting.
Housing, rehab, or jail needs to be the only choices. It’s time to stop tolerating this.it’s getting worse.
