Classic old car problem lol. Older speedos used eddy currents which basically was some magnets spinning around in a metal cup with a clock spring connected to the needle in the dash. Problem is the cable from the trans gets all gunky and worn after a while, which causes it to bounce like that. So bad in some cars that the needle will literally break off.
@@napraznicul Some of the bouncing could be simply down to how the cable is routed with the new swap. Has to be a fairly straight shot in or it will bind if there are too many twists and turns. I have a car that is getting close to 40 years old that still has its original cable drive. They are fairly reliable for the most part, and can be accurate if the spring tension is set correctly.
Some comments for the owner having had a 220hp g60 MK1. Be very careful with the windshield above 200kmh because it's held by rubber, not glue. It will come out at some point which doesn't need explanation how dangerous it is. The hoses and pipes. Hoses came loose on my MK1 as wel a few times. What helps is to rough up the surface of the shiny pipe where the hose goes. Use sandpaper and use double clamps instead of just one, then it will hold. And try to find another hose because your right 90degree one is jamming the flow. Pretty sure you already know this since its clearly visible. Black smoke? Not for me. Fun car but they can build it without black smoke. We have those modded TDI engines here in Istanbul. And without that black smoke of course.
As far as I'm aware, black smoke is to cooldown exhaust gases. Which are a big issue on these high powered diesel engines. You can run it without smoke your just prone to kill your engine faster.
