Metroid Fusion, despite being the most linear has my favorite atmosphere out of all the games it felt almost like a horror game. That being said its fun to see what you can do to sequence break such a locked down game.
Felipe Arrais The bosses in Prime were pretty amazing though, probably some the best fights in the FPS genre at least in my experience. Then again shooter bosses are usually QTEs so there isn't much competition on that front.
I like to think this is the canonical Samus. Just styling all over the place, bomb-jumping wherever she pleases, enemies unable to hit her, SA-X getting back flipped all over and crying like a child that can't reach it's toy. All while she methodically robs the entire research station of all it's stashed-away armaments until she's a walking apocalypse of more missiles and health than you have enough metroids for.

Interesting note: We have since found a way to get the item at 28:08 without high jump or bombs, and it's human viable. All you need to do wall jump off the little bump next to the second kago and damage boost off the top. It's very precise but totally manageable.
This game is full of oddities to say the least, like the fact there's a charged version of the original beam, despite the Charge Beam having its own unique shots, as well as all the deleted rooms and the fact that breaking sequence is literally not permitted.
Incredible what you can do with emulators/fame by frame etc. 56:12 was the closest thing I "might" be able to pull off on the Ds-lite, but I doubt it. Nice run.
The best thing about watching speedrunning and TAS is that you can see the history of the game at a higher speed, in case you don't remember how to advance, or you want to keep the arguments fresh, in the case of the new Metroid (Dread) that is coming, if you don't want to play all Metroid Fusion :D
yo, this is awesome haha, this title "Early Items" does not do it justice, this is so much more than just early items. so many pointless but awesome tricks in here
I knew most of these locations but jeez there were a few that i was like WTF???? I NEVER HAD A CLUE thanks you have destroyed my confidense at being very good with this game
Why didnt you stop at the Nav room at 24:20?????? I wanted to know what Adam had to say about your bad sequence breaking behavior. Love your videos man.
i really just wanted to show which expansions normally can't be acquired early. there's nothing special about the expansions in NOC because they can be collected at any time, so i just picked them up in a way that's faster. it's more of a playaround than a strict tas. same reason for PYR. i didn't want to go all that way just for two expansions.
well, i do have all the possible early expansions by the end of this video. and the bomb jumping just involves morphing and unmorphing as fast as possible (tas only of course).
Okay, I see, I just wondered. I was thinking of it more in terms of "Just how powered-up can Samus possibly be by THIS point in the game now?" Now I'll have to find just what button pattern makes Samus float in the air so that bomb jumping is possible...
I think, the game crashed, because you escaped the room during a correct event. I never had these problems when entering other bosses rooms more than once. However, I also never have been In this room before the correct event. You are awesome. Thanks for your videos :)

If you're doing a tool assisted run, you don't NEED more power-ups. It saves time not to pick it up, and if it's not NECCESARY for beating the game, it's not picked up. Beating a game as quickly as possible usually means not getting hit anyway. (You're beating the boss as quickly as it's possible to.)
oh yea i remember that one, it says "Security Hatches Level 2 Unlocked) I dont know if its possible to sequence break power bombs though. considering its not technically an item
Weird, why the boss appears ? I have reach the boss (like all) with cheat codes and no boss, just the flowers in the water (no plasma or another beam) .
watching the playthrough like so would almost make one imagine what samus is like on cocain. would this be it or nah? either way impressive playthrough
Easier, yes. However, the point of the speed run is to finish the game as QUICKLY as possible, regardless of things skipped. If skipping the item saves time, then it must be done.
Bratzonasteek press down while running to hold the boost. Then jump and you'll shoot upward. Hold a direction immediately after pressing a to aim your path
Hey Bio, how do you make a TAS? I wanted to make on of this game for fun, but i cant figure out how, i have vba, and slowdown, but when i record and use savestates, it shows me using to save state -_, did you just edit them out yourself?
I’ve gotten Yakuza to it’s red state before it’s second form but it takes the same amount of missiles to kill its second form. I found it strange since I discovered it was possible without TAS.
You would get a last Information instead (last upgrade or door unlock). As far as I remember he was there after receiving bombs, so he would just got info about getting bombs again.

Bovine Joni huh. I've never actually played any Metroid Prime, but everyone says they're a masterpiece. You could be right, tho.

Really neat that the functioning core has sprites despite there being no real way to get there pre-overgrowth
You can also see those sprites by going back there after defeating the thing causing the overgrowth.
Early items don't start until 19:30 in case you want to start where it gets crazy

I always loved Sector 4, it shows that even the GBA can have some pretty bassy tunes too.
You are the best Biosp4rk keep doing what you're doing.
That was truly amazing. I now feel content knowing the extent of what happens when you severely sequence break in Metroid Fusion.
The movements are so beautiful and orchestrated... I'm crying.
Why are you almost always shooting diagonally to open doors? Is it just to show off, or something more than that?
No particular reason.

@EpicVolker what do you mean? there should be more bombjumping in this video and in some of my other videos.
the game doesn't let you get items out of order. had i tried collecting the item, nothing would have happened.

how do u do the trick at 20:37? It's driving me insane!

the flare around the charge beam does extra damage.

if you already have the plasma beam it won't appear
also if you haven't done a series of very complicated events it won't appear also

Yay
this is a tas you potato
Easier, yes. However, the point of the speed run is to finish the game as QUICKLY as possible, regardless of things skipped. If skipping the item saves time, then it must be done.
I have a great idea for a next metroid series. I could share this idea to you if you like. :)
5 power-bomben und man kann sie nicht benutzen.... läuft! XD
LPFan #AllesHartDurcheinanderBringen - stabil! :D
hit the down button so you go into a crouch while you have the boost
How do you do that speed boost tackle? I can only make myself run and whenever I try to hold onto the speed boost energy I lose it after stopping
.
Bratzonasteek press down while running to hold the boost. Then jump and you'll shoot upward. Hold a direction immediately after pressing a to aim your path
Hey biospark, why do you shoot missiles at doors sometimes instead of just shooting a beam?
***** really? hmm, I'll need to try that next time I play this
***** like I said, I'll just need to try it out next time to see if it makes a difference
+Zyad48 - The Warrior of Evil The beam travels faster than missiles. I probably just used missile to mix it up a bit.
biospark oh okay, thanks for the clarification :)
Use a cheat 2 get missiles early, head to where morph ball boss is and kill him, collect the x and it unlocks security level 1, but no morphball.
holy FUCK, you have played this a lot! nice run.
@MrNicholas586 i don't really care about times involving gameshark codes.
And that also let you turn items off, of course.
the 2nd energy tank i keep forgetting how to get that one >_>
8:09 Turbo controller for the win!
Hey Bio, how do you make a TAS? I wanted to make on of this game for fun, but i cant figure out how, i have vba, and slowdown, but when i record and use savestates, it shows me using to save state -_, did you just edit them out yourself?
4:08 - begin of real play
what happens if you go back to fight nettori and yakuza after you beat them already?
come to think of it you can’t come back to one of them but would you still be able to get the plasma beam
53:05 how do you make that??? xD
Afonso Carvalho
It is a TAS (Tool Asisted Speedrun), is sort of a cheat to do frame perfect movementes that are imposible to do by humans.
9:49 But SA-X, the hatch was open!
What does the navigator says when you get the plasma beam or another thing u are not supposed to ?
0:20:32 >
possible with the wall jumping (but only the wall jumping) ?
SuperGrunt281 nope. Tricks that use single wall jump or bomb jump are not possible without tas.
Butterfly effect, awesome TAS.
lol
Why you did not get the plasma beam first?
what happend to thr flower shit
1:06:16 how you do that?
Imagine a TAS-level SA-X
This made me nostalgia
Is it possible to 100% the game shinesparking the power bomb blocks?
+MarioLuigi7979 I don't understand what you mean.
how come you didn't get the plasma beam?
why didn't you fight yakuza the first time there?
I’ve gotten Yakuza to it’s red state before it’s second form but it takes the same amount of missiles to kill its second form. I found it strange since I discovered it was possible without TAS.
and for some odd reason it’s my favorite boss
@ZarHakkarV555 Things will never change we all know the SA-X never grew a brain
How is this possible...
It's only possible in a TAS.
What would've happened if you'd have taken the plasma beam so early?
You could sequence break a bit, but not much
You would get a last Information instead (last upgrade or door unlock). As far as I remember he was there after receiving bombs, so he would just got info about getting bombs again.
Wish it didn't fuck up after Yakuza :/
Nav Room skip between missions basically..?
8:05 - 8:17 Samus has a twich-a thon. 😆
What happens if you beat one of those bosses early? Can you collect their items?
kered13 Nothing happens. You don't get their items.
