That is so exciting to hear. Would you be able to make one of your videos on that. Maybe with some of the responses from those who've contacted you as Dallas often shares. Have wondered about this a few times especially about what the response might be from non Messianic Jews who've discovered it. It maybe you're in already working on. Either way thanks for this wonderful series
It’s so neat to see one of the actors who is in the original show that Dallas made for his church. The shepherd. This actor was one of the shepherds, and then he makes this cameo! I love it!
I grew up in a mixed Jewish and Christian home but practicing neither. My Jewish side was reform and barely held to an tradition except for an occasional Passover get together. Not only has the Chosen opened my heart to Jesus so I could love and know him as my savior but has also taught me more about my Jewish history and tradition than the last 46 years of my life. There is so much rich history and tradition that I’m surprised more of those things didn’t carry on into Christianity.
WOW! about the snails! And the education of the fringe. Mary's speech was amazing, I wrote it down... "suddenly God steps in and we are pulled out of our blindness...invited into redemption." LOVE!
That conversation between Mary and Matthew hit straight right to my heart. I am not a Jew but that conversation resembles my inner thoughts and the cares of my heart. When Mary said about the '"dove", amazingly, dove represents the Holy Spirit. That dove led her to Jesus. Matthew has his own "dove", I have my own "dove" too! "So we think that life is full of scarcity, and not abundance. But then there are those times, when out of nowhere, somehow the world expresses it's longing to be whole, and suddenly God steps in. We are pulled out of our blindness and invited us into redemption" - AMEN! What a beautiful testimomy. God is not blind to His people. He is waiting for us to come back!
You guys missed the hidden “Easter egg” the older gentleman says he’s going to meet his maker AGAIN because he was one of the shepherds that met Jesus when he was born!! Awesome play on the Chosens part!!, 11:23

Shalom, Sam and Dr. Tom! I used to see various testimonies of Messianic Jews on the channel OneforIsrael and in just about all of them, the person said that he/she had no idea that Y'shua was Jewish or that the gospel according to Matthew was a Jewish book addressed to Jewish people about Jewish people.
ThankYou for the clarity & Jewish perspective and insights🇮🇱 I too was a secular Jew born anew & embraced my Messianic roots after being saved in a Pentacostal church 🙌
And R.W., by finding and clinging to a Bible-based community, I learned about Yeshua's Jewish ancestry, background and life. My 60+ years as a Roman Catholic, never gave me the opportunity to know the real Messiah or why the Jewish religious leaders wanted Him dead. Thank you, Grafted Guys.

Thank you again for your insight and your neverending passion for the story of Yeshuea. I watch every one of your reactions /explanations of The Chosen, more often at least twice, if not more. The Messianic Jewish church has always drawn me in more than another religious sect; and I've been raised in the Methodist Church since childhood. Listening to you both gives me a great sense of belonging!
Just had listened to an audio of much of Isaiah for an hour or so this evening and I love hearing your discussion of the Messiah. You really inspire appreciation for the wonderful world we are part of today!
I couldn't believe it when you mentioned the snails. I actually watched a video that included information about that recently. I'm trying to remember which one. But it showed a woman who was making the dye from those snails. Apparently it used to be produced a lot in Carthage. Love God's timing in bringing about the snails when it would be needed to make the dye again. Also was so pleased when they brought up the information about Benjamin's two names. I remember you both talking about that in your reaction to the "The Shepherd". I'm learning so much from you both. My mum too as we watch your videos together now.
Thank you for sharing your insights once more. Your thoughts at 7:55 were exactly the same as mine with having the background of following the messianic worldview course. I learned much from you guys and thank you Leah for praying for me. I wrote the message down and put it up my wall as a reminder. Excited to hear from you (Dr. Tom) again in the upcoming last class. Shalom, shalom!
So agree!! The world & the church has been re-discovering the Jewish Jesus for awhile I suppose, but the portrayal of Jesus and the disciples in the Chosen are next level for certain.
Tom. I am a gentile believer. I do not understand how folks can read their Bible and not see that Jesus was Jewish. It's so clear from the Old Testament and Jesus lineage recorded in Matthew. Any feedback?
Catholic Christian here: really well done and your insights help me see „the bigger picture“ better. Really appreciate your work towards mutual understanding and respect. Jesus unites us. I always saw Jews as older brothers in Faith. Just wondering on one thing: You distinguish between Jews and Gentiles. Why no mention of Christians in that context? Keep up the good work.
Could this be the thing that provokes the Jewish people to jealousy? (In a good way) could this be the thing that perhaps causes a shift? Where we as Christians finally realize this and start viewing Jews differently and have a passion for our Jewish brothers and sisters and through that we can come together and Jews come into the knowledge and understanding of WHO Jesus is and what He means to them. I'm not sure. Just thinking out loud .... But I don't think this is an accident that this is all happening now . God is good and He is faithful.
Love listening to you two as you give nuances and info on Jewish history and beliefs! I have heard about the snails disappearance and reappearance some time ago...amazing!!😁
So true about knowing that Jesus was actually Jewish. In my Christian journey, the churches/denominations I have experienced never, ever emphasized, taught, preached, etc. about Jesus being jewish. We never studied anything about Jewish culture/customs especially of the 1st century. That's one of the many reasons I so appreciate how The Chosen is written. And I appreciate your explanations of scenes/episodes also. I'm learning sooo much! Thank you!
Paul baptises a man named Gaius; Gaius travels with Paul. John also refers to a Gaius as being hospitable, has a love for others and John considers him a friend. It will be interesting to see how this character develops because obviously he will bring his son to Jesus for healing. I wonder if the always eating Atticus will assist Gaius in the process. The Chosen is a GREAT show! It has excellent writers, actors, and a pretty good director too. How many other shows are binge watched repeatedly and not even on Netflix? Great stuff Dallas. Yes, I repeat, you two should be on the set of The Chosen but, at the same time, your reaction to the different scenes is priceless. So maybe you two could be on the set for part of it but not all of it. Lololol
Always enjoy your insights on the Chosen. Have been a Christian for several decades now, have said several times that I'm a Christian that worships a Jew.
As a Gentile...it astounds me how anyone COULDN'T know Jesus was Jewish. As a child I knew He was....even if I was too young to comprehend WHAT the culture of that was.
Now I'm an old woman and a history nut so know about Jesus and the disciples being Jewish. However, being from South Carolina, I just died about died about the Southern Super❣️ I simply never realized that they were waiting for a Warrior; that really puts a different spin on it ‼️🌹
That talk between Mary and Matthew. When Mary was comforting Matthew about being felt unworthy, but she is making Matthew feel that it is about time to feel worthy being Jew, that's because of Jesus. - this line blew me away When we all feel unworthy, messed up and a total wrecked, but Jesus steps in our life and made us all worthy of His Kingdom! I LOVE LOVE THAT SCENE BETWEEN MARY AND MATTHEW!!! 🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️ No big drama but cuts deep into my soul.
My wife and I have been believers for more than sixty years, but we still love to follow your comments on the Jewish aspects, many of which we have not heard before. Thank you so much! But I did have to chuckle in this one, because you, Tom, indicated the "son of your right hand" with your left hand, because you were already using your right hand for "son of my sorrow" ! 😉😉😉 😉
If it was not for the Jewish people we would not be saved, but instead we are grafted into the Promise !!! Pray for the Jewish people ....... pray for Israel !!!!!!
The shepherd talked about how special the tzitzits were. He talked about they came from the exile to Babylon. The shepherd inherited them because he was from the tribe of Benjamin. The only prophet indicated from the time of Benjamin, at that time, was Jeremiah! I believe they're insinuating those could be Jeremiah's tzitzits! Priceless!
I didn’t grow up in any faith, Jesus or God was never spoken of. When I did hear the name Jesus I just thought he was the Son of God but that was it. Fast forward to today and I wish I would’ve know back then more about Him and that He was Jewish. Though I’m not sure what I would’ve done with that information. Thanks for your videos
Love all your videos! I would love to hear your reaction to Ben Shapiro's statement about Jesus being a Jew who led a revolt against the Romans and got killed for the trouble he caused. 🤦♀️ It was so frustrating for me to hear such an intelligent man believe that. I feel a connection to Jewish people because of Jesus, but that was hard to hear. 😔
Ben is an intelligent man, as you say, but he is also deeply devoted Jew. And all that that means. What we can do is pray for him that the Holy Spirit opens his heart and eyes to our Savior and Messiah.
My fathers family came from Finland My mother’s family partly came from Portugal. Joseph Killer was his name but in Canada he went by Joseph as his surname.
I would be very surprised if there were a LOT of Christians that DON'T know that Jesus was Jewish. How could they NOT know that? But then again, the younger generations never cease to surprise me with what they don't know.
Through the years, I have worked with Christian, Gentile and Jewish people, and have Christian, Gentile, Jewish/Israeli neighbors and friends. In conversations when religion is brought up, it's funny how many times BOTH Gentile and Jewish people will look at me like I have three heads when I respond, "well, Jesus is Jewish after all." The conversation goes silent as the person/people try to process what I've said. Also, in my neck of the woods, there is a long-standing concept that only the Jewish can refer to themselves as the "Chosen People." After referring more often to the Bible, watching "The Chosen" and learning from Grafted, Christians can proudly make the claim as "Chosen" too. By believing in Christ, through Christ, Christians are gifted as being from Abraham's line and David. Such a marvelous and remarkable gift. + Shalom Shalom
We all knew he was Jewish, that all of the apostles were Jewish....but the understanding was that during his lifetime the Jewish people did not embrace him/them wholeheartedly so it was brought to the gentiles and we expanded it into the largest religion on Earth. But we always have known he was Jewish
We did not attempt to become Jewish...we embraced Christ and have spent centuries keeping it alive and waiting for the Jewish people to embrace the Messiah.
I love how you guys are connecting the dots for us gentiles and also for Jewish people who don’t believe in Yeshua the Messiah. Everything points to Yeshua as the Messiah.
The other thing The Chosen has reinforced is that Jesus also grew up as a Jew following the law of Moses to a T, from a young boy to a man. And also seeing how they celebrated the feasts and what that would of looked like.
Just heard about your UA-cam and am checking it out. I find it weird that there are people who didn't know Jesus is Jewish. I was raised Catholic, went through 12 years of Catholic education and became evangelical/Pentecostal and I learned from the very beginning that Jesus is Jewish, All the Churches I've gone to taught He is Jewish. Reading the Bible shows He is Jewish. I'm just very surprised that there are Christians who didn't know Jesus is Jewish. Maybe I'm an out of the ordinary believer.
Even more significant that Christianity recognizing that Christ was Jewish is that the Bible is the Jewish record. Judah was only one of 12 tribes, all kept records. What will Christianity do when the other records come forth?
"He came into His own, and His own received Him not." I find it extremely hard to believe that so many Christians did not know that Jesus was Jewish. How are they Christians? The Holy Spirit teaches us many things. I believe what you are saying. I just never thought any different, so I guess I assumed everyone who says that GOD turned them towards Christianity knew it.
"God wants you to be Jewish again" post a strong question to every Jewish descendant.. mixed up with many origins nowadays.. Should we come back to our ancestors way of living? Thats a question for the marranos and sefardis descendents here in Brazil.
I enjoy listening to you but as a Catholic I have always known that Jesus was Jewish and that our salvation has come through the Jewish people. I am surprised that Christians would not know that.
Isaiah 6:1-13 In his vision,Isaiah is told to blind and deafen the people of Israel until the time of the end. It was so the gentiles could be saved. Many are still blinded. The covenant God made with Abraham has not been broken. God does not go back on His promise to Israel. They will be saved. But the majority are still blind and deaf to their Savior.
Not sure what you mean when you say no one knew Jesus was Jewish. Matthew outlines Jesus' lineage at the beginning of his book in the Bible. The Jewish people at the time knew he was Jewish. The Romans knew it. The early church knew it. Catholics have always known it. They were all Jewish in the beginning - Mary, Joeseph, the 12 apostles, St Paul, etc.

Is this one of the actors that was in "The Shepherd," the pilot for "The Chosen?" One of the Levitical shepherds?
I think they also used the dye from those snails for the tabernacle
So much a gentile misses without knowing the Jewish history. Thank you.
I love how you guys are connecting the dots for us gentiles and also for Jewish people who don’t believe in Yeshua the Messiah. Everything points to Yeshua as the Messiah.
THE SNAILS!!!!!!!!!
God has all things planned!
I'm so glad they brought up the meaning of the name, since not much is discussed about Rachel's struggle with God and her worship of idols
I love the way you two explain what may not make since to alot of non Christians. Plus Tom is a cry baby just like me😂
Yes😢😢😢
The Chosen was ordained by God for these times🙏🏾
I've been wondering if Paul was raised in Jerusalem (which he says he was) would he maybe be part of this sanhedrin? I wonder if he'll show up.
I was hoping they went into acts
The other thing The Chosen has reinforced is that Jesus also grew up as a Jew following the law of Moses to a T, from a young boy to a man. And also seeing how they celebrated the feasts and what that would of looked like.
Good but why you guys keeps teasing us... We want full reaction😭
So both "ben" and "bar" means "son"? If so, what's the neuance of difference between the two words?
Ben is Hebrew;
Bar is Aramaic.
@@careylee1598 Aha! Thank you for clarifying! 😊❤️
Even more significant that Christianity recognizing that Christ was Jewish is that the Bible is the Jewish record. Judah was only one of 12 tribes, all kept records. What will Christianity do when the other records come forth?
I never understood how people didn't understand that Jesus is Jewish. 😮
How do Christians not know Jesus was a Jew? 🧐
How would Christians not know Jesus was Jewish?Matthew presented His genealogy right at the beginning of his writings
"He came into His own, and His own received Him not."
I find it extremely hard to believe that so many Christians did not know that Jesus was Jewish. How are they Christians? The Holy Spirit teaches us many things.
I believe what you are saying. I just never thought any different, so I guess I assumed everyone who says that GOD turned them towards Christianity knew it.
Son of my right hand.
"God wants you to be Jewish again" post a strong question to every Jewish descendant.. mixed up with many origins nowadays.. Should we come back to our ancestors way of living? Thats a question for the marranos and sefardis descendents here in Brazil.
Jesus did say he is the "King of the Jews".
Jesus fulfilled, the Law in the Old Testament!!! We, Now Live Jesus' Grace! PERIOD!!! BELIEVE, BE SAVED, DELIVERED AND HEALED!!!
I enjoy listening to you but as a Catholic I have always known that Jesus was Jewish and that our salvation has come through the Jewish people. I am surprised that Christians would not know that.
As a catholic i always knew Jesus was Jewish.
What I don't understand is why to the Jew's not recognize Yeshua as the son of God ???
Isaiah 6:1-13 In his vision,Isaiah is told to blind and deafen the people of Israel until the time of the end. It was so the gentiles could be saved. Many are still blinded. The covenant God made with Abraham has not been broken. God does not go back on His promise to Israel. They will be saved. But the majority are still blind and deaf to their Savior.
@@nanadeborah8717 thanks that was informative
Not sure what you mean when you say no one knew Jesus was Jewish. Matthew outlines Jesus' lineage at the beginning of his book in the Bible. The Jewish people at the time knew he was Jewish. The Romans knew it. The early church knew it. Catholics have always known it. They were all Jewish in the beginning - Mary, Joeseph, the 12 apostles, St Paul, etc.
you'll get more views and subscribers if you do the full reaction of the episode. Just sayin.
