      @@msods for every particular fan their favourite is their icon. And who told you djokovic is not an icon. He inspires so many people around the world for what he has done coming from a war torn country. He isn't as popular as federer because of the bias and narrative against him by the tennis media and establishment. You just don't want to see it how big of an icon he really is in the world of sports. I am from India where tennis is almost non existent and yet he is my favourite sportsman of all time. He has enough fans all over the world who love him and know how big a personality he is.
      Maradona was an icon but the likes of messi and ronaldo are no less. As I already said the most important thing in professional sports is titles and victories. Public perception is just for fan following.
      In 20 years when kids see the record books and find djokovic with most records they will not care who was more popular or had more fans. Basic motive behind people becoming professional athletes is not to get fame and become an icon, it is winning, they want to be the best in their field. And all I and even nole cares about is winning as many titles as he can. He is enough of an icon and a great person off the court. Those who see it see it, those that don't support him know deep down that he is the best on that court and that is all that really matters. Tennis is a professional sport, not a popularity contest.
      That is all I have to say. You can continue to believe whatever else you want to.
      Also I see this pattern so often. When federer had all records he was termed greatest by his fans like you coz of his records, now when all his records are getting broken one by one his fans are always using arguments like how popular or iconic he is. That is called shifting the goal post. History only remembers the greatest. Winning is all that matters in the long term.

      Indeed, that was a lot quicker than 135.. In that match Roddick only did 142 and he was hitting 150 at that time, the speed gun was very slow.

    • @mmm6325
      @mmm6325 3 роки тому +1

      @@VinsUplifting I think the speed gun very often shows the wrong speed for Ivo because of his height. The ball comes down from a weird angle so the calculation isnt correct. I watched many of his matches where he obliterates the ball and the speed gun shows something like 125.

      @VinsUplifting  3 роки тому +1

      @@mmm6325 Great point! Just recently i seen that Opelka hit a 240 at the Australian Open, it was measured by hawkeye (not the speed gun) so the speed is real. I don't think that Karlovic was serving that much slower when he was at his peak serving abitlities around 2005. It wouldn't surprise me if the serve in this video was in fact something like 235 kph...

      I'd argue that apart from Fed and Nadal, it is Djokovic who for the last 2 years has no other real opponents at all. Even in Fed's peak era many matches as I saw it were tough. And with Fed and Nadal not playing often, it is truly a very weak era in the modern day, with no next gen to even challenge Djokovic. The only ones who truly beat Djokovic last year was Nadal on clay and that Lineswoman (LOL!). Thiem, Kyrgios, Medvedev, Nishikori, Zverev and others are only capable of pulling occasional upsets. Tell me, who is even remotely capable of fighting Djokovic now?
