It's crazy that basically any time I really love a song, I can come check out your channel and discover that you've covered it at some point. Xenoblade 2 is one of my favorite games ever (a game where the main plotline is basically helping a girl overcome her depression hits close to home), and this cover legit gave me chills when you hit 00:54.
I ABSOLUTELY love this track. I just redownloaded the first game to play all three back to back but XC2 soundtrack will hold a special place in my heart for getting me back into writing my stories. Fantastic cover!
fun game with nice cut scenes but the story telling was so messy at times and the break between story and gameplay was mediocre most of the time, this shouldn't be a good example to anyone :s
@@mielthesquid6536 media is subjective yunno, but I'd actually really disagree with you. You gotta be more specific than just the breaks weren't good? You can explore/do sides/ affinity/ level up or u can just push main story. Most JRPGS leave those breaks to the player. Maybe you were just confused to what to do or never played a JRPG before this?
@@mielthesquid6536The story has some flaws but overall it is better than almost any other RPG I have played... As much as I love Xenoblade 1, I think overall Xenoblade 2 go out winning at the writing, but Xenoblade 1 makes the main plot more strong, a better apresentation, Bionis and Mechonis (yes, they are worth mentioning by themselves, they are some of the coolest things in vídeogame) no pervert jokes, those great characters and etc It is just that I felt so.. In love with a story, I felt the same with Xenoblade 1 at my second playthrough (Yeah, the first one I just hadn't fully understand the greateness in front of me) and the same with Tales of The Abyss. But in Xenoblade 2 it was even more, it is no wonder I literally spent hours crying after the end, if it has flaws but managed to make me feel so many feelings, through the whole game, Happiness, laughs, reflecting on the characters, wondering what was going to happen, my head completely blowing at certain moments and more, so I don't matter. But if you didn't feel those feelings, it is ok and I understand why you say that
Yesss, I'm not even a massive fan of the game, only got like halfway through but it undeniably has one of the best videogame OSTs out there! Every song is a banger. Great cover, got me pumped!
I've never clicked on and liked a video than I did for this one as soon as I saw it pop up on my feed. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is my favorite in the trilogy (Future Redeemed DLC being the close second). Once you get over the fan service-y stuff and lack of tutorials, it turns into one helluva emotional ride. I cried so many times and this song exemplifies those moments.
I still stand by the opinion that the emotional payoff in 2 (starting with the Crucible all the way to the end of the game) is the absolute pinnacle of writing in rpgs on the same level as FF7 and the like
@@Jotunn96 Really? I liked most of the ending before the final boss, but everything after that feels very forced. Pneuma sacrifices herself to stop a space elevator that started collapsing for no reason, then she comes back with both of the waifus in separate bodies purely for fan service. It feels very emotionally empty
@@manman2416They come back not because they don't want to die, but because they no longer fear living. I just think it has a lot more going on than it might seem at first.
@@Kookos21 Where did the game say why they came back? Or even if they stopped being afraid of living? It sounds like you’re giving the game more depth than it has.
Xenoblade 2 and its OST deserve all the love, fantastic work Jules! So glad that the fans recognize Counterattack as one of their favorite VGM of all time. Keep on shredding.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, whenever Jules does a metal cover of video game music he truly encapsulates the artistic feel and emotions that the piece evokes. Not to say that other metal artists on the platform aren't good, but the quality the Jules puts forth goes beyond matching the song note for note. Another well-done piece, my guy!
Today i listened a lot to the Xenoblade OST and shade some or better a lot of Tears. Now I saw that you Covered this masterpiece! My Eyes can't keep up Dude.
Best cover of this piece I've heard, by far! One of the best themes in the Xenoblade trilogy, part of a trio of related themes in XC1 and 3 (Engage the Enemy and The Weight of Life, respectively), all three are amazing...
This is one of my favorites from the Xenoblade series and you more than did it justice. In particular, the original "feels" like it switches back and forth between ~80 bpm and ~160 bpm, whereas yours manages to keep the "slow" feel during the intense sections. That's hard to pull off!
I absolutely love the Xenoblade trilogy and their DLCs and they are my favorite games of all time. 2 is my favorite of the three with 3 VERY close behind and 1 extremely close behind 3.
