I’m one of the few people that had no glitches at launch but this game definitely should’ve been delayed a year it also would’ve made the ending to rouge crazier because when it launched more people were playing unity also great vid as always man
i love the game but isnt only the glitches, some parts are just broken in the engine, like the enemies sometimes insta shoot you, or the consumables working the exact opposite way they should be, for example smoke bombs can make guards not hear your gunshots and the firecrackers need to be seen by the enemy to attract them, ofc once you learn those things its not so bad, but my first time woth the game was very frustrating
Although all of its flaws this is the game where I feel like an Assassin the most. City designed for parkour, dense crowds for social stealth and especially assassination missions where you just get an objective to kill your target and you do it on your own way. Btw very good video and review
Exactly. I'm glad so many people really loved this game cause I thought I was the only one. Then again, I got a PS4 about 2 years late, and this was the first game I got being a massive fan and lusting after that parkour system they so haphazardly threw out after Syndicate....
In all honestly the very 1st game And this game are the only 2 that did stealth right in my opinion. The problem with the new games is that they've completely neutered the stealth system. The assassin's creed 3 did combat fantastically but it also neutered the Stealth system. 4 was kind of a blend of 3 combat and 2 stealth which wasn't great but wasn't terrible either. I didn't end up playing rogue or syndicate I kind of fell off the bandwagon after 4 I picked up origins and audacy to give them a try and I just could not get into them at all. I didn't even bother with Valhalla.
I think a testament to Unity’s potential and also how great the game is atm is how much it’s talked about to this day. I really wish they handn’t rushed it
The fact unity gets complimented for being AC, having best everything and being 'underrated' which is more like the opposite nowadays is so retarded. AC3 is the only one that got undeserved hate (Syndicate and Rogue a bit) yet every bit of hate unity got was more than deserved. I don't see any potential in the dad dies idc step dad dies ahhhh story, the parry attack die combat, the buggy and nonsense stealth and the motherf*cking broken unresponsive automatic awful nonsense parkour
Words can't even BEGIN to describe the beauty of Unity! While the initial bugs deteriorated the popular opinion about this particular game, the story and visuals are so, so, SO lovely. Arno is my third favourite protagonist after Altaïr and Ezio. His character arc is quite consistent/convincing and it described perfectly how Élise dragged him down. It's really great or even excellent game. I can ramble hours and hours about it, but I'll just leave it here.
@@cykablyat9526 Yeah, that's what pisses me off the most about the new AC formula, it's just not as credible as before and even Bayek's purpose for vengeance seemed a little unconvincing/hypocritical to me, though I love Origins.
I'd always choose good look over stats in unity, if you just spend some time mastering the stealth and gadgets usage the game becomes easy enough to do everything without much of a trouble. Except the ancient history coop mission, after all this time it still gives me conniptions.
I'm soon getting the game because there are no Napoleonic games on console so I want to use lots of the outfits in the game probably the more basic ones I don't know
The fighting in the old AC’s is refreshing after playing Odyssey or Valhalla. We went from enemies being staggered and stumbling when fighting to health bars that can attack whenever.
I've gotten just about to the end of Odyssey (1 more artifact and maybe 6 targets) and I totally agree with that. Origins even felt better with it's combat with the amount of shields and no weird magic abilities. I could excuse Origins because Bayek was essentially a Royal Guard and then he gets a hidden blade but with Kassandra/Alexios you are a mercenary and your hidden blade is a spear tip for some reason. Also hate how there wasn't a double assassination outside of the throw the spear ability. I don't quite remember how spongy enemies were in origins but I just feel like it's far worse in Odyssey where you and an enemy are just hitting each other for a couple minutes unless you use an ability
Well, this is a lovely coincidence, I just finished this game not two days ago and now you upload a review for it. Honestly, I enjoyed this game, the stealth and parkour are pretty awesome and I think the combat looks realistic, is challenging and is decently enjoyable, although I did get kinda bored of the combat (maybe that’s cause I kept using swords throughout the game without trying other weapons lol). I really enjoyed the mission structure of this game (even if it was a little repetitive) because it was all about sneaking around the place, assassinating your target and getting out in one piece. The parkour was really nice, but offers less options for animation cancelling and side ejecting freely than the older games, still looks and feels nice though. The stealth is good and has many options for tools which you could use, from poison to phantom blades, stun grenades and smoke bombs, poison and even berserk blades all of them can make stealth encounters way easier and even fun. The combat was simplistic, looked nice and could be decently fun, but would get boring after doing it repeatedly for a long time. The story was just okay, nothing less, nothing more. Overall I’d say I enjoyed the game and had fun with it.
This was my first ac game. I remember when it first came out i used to watch so many stealth and gameplay videos. Since i didn't have an xbox or a solid pc to run it i never got it until 2018. This game ever since had been my favourite game to just chill and listen to music while junping from roof top to roof top and killing people in a quiet way. The graphics are so good I was suprissed this game came out it 2014. I currently love watching you master assassins and altair stealth as both of you play and talk about the game. I really hope they could make this game a sequel combining ac rouge and maybe ac 3. That would be a dream come true.
@@zetsubo5282am hesitant with syndicate... amazing game world environment. i love the cart riding, factories and train stations. but unfortunately, the actual story, and combat sucks. you more or less just suffer the main quest through to be able to unlock the whole map. and you need to spend the first 2 hours in boring tutorial before you get to London
I loved Unity's story. The desire to keep loved ones away from harm is imo the strongest motivation, especially for a man like Arno who experienced loss and grief before. It was believable, tragic and beautiful.
Even more tragic is that the Templars and assassins of this era had a truce that could have been turned into piece, if it wasn't for I forget the name of Aita's Reincarnation of this time and Pierre Bellec it could have maybe go beyond France and ended that ancient Feud for good, but sadly we will never know.
I've played Unity more than 5 times now, and i can definitely say it's my favorite assassin's creed game (along with Revelations). Everything about it is just beautiful, sure it has/had some flaws but all games do, what the most fascinating thing is that it was made in 2014! It's stunning for that old of a game! And it's not just graphics, the amount of style put into this game is what makes it absolutely beautiful. So yeah, it's DEFINITELY worth playing :)
@@thms6833 Very good time to ask that question since I've just ended replaying the Ezio Collection! I'll start with AC2; • So AC2 felt like it had some good ideas, the animations, specially combat were extremely smooth, I'm not gonna comment on it's visuals, because that wouldn't really be fare since i never played it on PS3. The story had some nice ideas and was pretty good at times but it felt like a drag, most of the times i didn't even know what was going on, why was i doing this or how did i end up here, but it was pretty good at the start and near the end. The thing that ruined it for me the most was the lack of cutscenes and immersion, most of the time the two characters were just stand there and move their moth, no emotion. The level design lacked alot too, it wasn't hard, it was just just frustrating, since for most levels there seemed to be only one possible way to do them. Tbh tho, i think all of these would be acceptable considering it came out in 2009, but personally, it felt like a drag to me. But i have to say i do appreciate it for everything it has done for the franchise. • Now to AC Brotherhood; Brotherhood had a great idea, it felt it wanted to be the most badass ac, and honestly, it kinda succeeded. It also had the coolest outfit. But, it lacked in the environment, the environment felt dead and empty, it felt like it was just a big land full of nothing. It wasn't bad, it just felt rushed. The combat tho, it fascinatingly badass and smooth (the best in the series). It actually let you feel like a master assassin, specially when fighting with the hidden blades. The parkour mechanics were improved slightly but the environment wasn't really built for parkour, again, it felt rushed. The story started off pretty strong, and it actually got me pretty excited, but as soon as you go to rome it feels like everything just feels like a bunch of side missions. Although it did have some pretty cool moments. The lightning tho, specially at night was absolute perfection, just gorgeous! Also i love that this time it had so much more more cutscenes which just makes it more immersive. Personally, what ruined it for me was that it was a missed potential, it seems like it had so many cool ideas but very little of them were executed, i feel like if it had more time everything could've been so much better. (I also hated that they force you to wear the ugliest shoulder pauldrons in the game for basically half the game😂) • Least but definitely not least, AC Revelations; Revelations took everything the other two failed to do and did them perfectly. Now with the hookblade the parkour felt amazing, the environment also worked pretty good with the parkour system, even tho it could've been a little better. This time unlike brotherhood, the city actually felt alive and diverse. The characters were so much more well developed and the story was absolutely amazing (the best in the series). I loved the altair parts too, they added so much more depth, they actually added meaning to the final goal. they also felt so badass. This time the emotion was everywhere, you could feel what they wanted you feel, also the music was pretty good. I loved that they put the the trailer in the beginning (it's honestly the best trailer ive ever watched), it built alot of hype, but what was more fascinating was the fact that it actually held up to the hype, not many games do that. When you first have control over ezio, the setting and the atmosphere feels perfect. the whole first chapter was probably one of my favorite openings in all games. And throughout the story everything feels like it has a purpose and more importantly, it doesn't feel repetitive at all, which is something that ALL other ac games lack. I also loved the closure on both Ezio and Altair's story. Unlike brotherhood, this game actually felt finished and polished. Overall, i loved Ezio's story as whole and i feel like he's the best developed character in the franchise. Rant over. Sorry, you asked for it😂
Does anyone remember that Ubisoft actually gave away copies of far cry and watch dogs away for free because of the condition that AC unity was in during it's release? That was an awesome show of faith and AC Unity eventually becoming a solid title makes it even sweeter. Good video by the way!
Guess I'll give it another chance too. The Story around Ezio was simply epic it also brought me to study the history of the Renaissance (from all angles) and hey I liked Black Flag a lot too - was somehow refreshing to play it from the perspective of a Pirat scoundrel who came to find the right path in the end...(and to learn something more about the peak of the carribean Pirate Era along as well)
I’m currently half way through my second play through I must say it’s so much better now than when it was launched was really exited to see others are still playing too. Great video keep it up 👍🏻
I have just bought AC Unity for my PS4. Even tho I have this game on Xbox One and my laptop. I just need to have it on every device possible! I have played it for like 10x time maybe even more. And spent 200+ hours in the game 4 sure. UNITY is in my opition the best AC.
Imagine it on unreal engine 5 on new generation console... This game could be the best game of the year and/or the best assassin's creed of all time 😱🥵
I had absolutely no glitches playing this game, maybe one crash but I expected that of any game. I'm so happy to see people are turning back and giving this game one more look :') I always loved this game but felt like it was a sin to talk any good or like it due to the massive hate to it. Love ya bros
It’s my favorite depiction of the Assassin Templar conflict because of how nuanced it is. We get insight into the politics of both sides, who have members with different viewpoints. The disunity within each side reflects the bloodshed on the streets of Paris, the voices of reason who called a truce to try stabilise the conflict of the Revolution cut down by the more traditional, extreme individuals who just want to get back to killing their opponents. The only difference between the Assassin and the Templars is that the Assassins don’t have someone trying to covet a Piece of Eden. The detective angle for Arno’s character is one people don’t acknowledge a whole lot yet makes him more interesting. He is genuinely good at spotting inconsistencies and connections, it’s just the main plot doesn’t call much for this and side content isn’t usually explored in depth by the causal player.
Oh, this'll be a fun video to get into when I have the time. Unity is one of my top five favorite AC games, and has been since the day it was released (on the same day as my actual favorite AC game...man, that was a good day)! Now, if only they could solve the current issues with connecting with other players for the co-op, it'd still be a damn near perfect AC game for me.
I watched this review last week and it gave me the push to buy the game after seeing it on sale. It is an amazing game. Even with the odd small bug it still one of the best games I have played in a long time. I doubt it’ll happen but I hope that Ubisoft releases a 4k60FPS patch for the PS5. I had heard that they are planning to release a fix for AC Syndicate on consoles so I hold on to hope that they will surprise us with a patch for AC Unity too.
I got this game the day before this video was uploaded lol. I really like the gameplay and the map. This game feels more alive because of the amount of civilians and the unique stuff they do (i.e. protesting, carrying stuff, dancing, etc). I like how they changed the requirements to unlock the legacy outfits so you can play as Ezio, Connor, Shay, or Edward right off the bat. I did face some glitches. Today, I saw a civilian gliding across the ground while in a crouched position. And I also saw an extremist laying on the ground while still standing (if you know what I'm talking about). Even though this game has its flaws, it absolutely amazing
I recently replayed Unity as part of my 100% every AC game marathon. Still, no bugs or glitches. And it’s definitely risen up my ranking system just because if the combat and gameplay. It feels like a great start to what could have been an almost perfect AC formula but then they released Syndicate and made a tonne of unnecessary changes. Still, I love Unity it’s definite,y in my upper half of AC games for sure. Definitely one I love to go back and replay along with Black Flag, Rogue and 1
I got no bugs. Best Assassin’s Creed parkour and combat system. Solid customization. Great story. Top 3 AC games of all time! Felt like a real Assassin game. Stealth was KeY!!!!
One of the things that makes an AC game great for me is the area. Brotherhood’s Rome and Revolutions Istanbul for example. So being in Paris during the French Revolution with riots and protests going on in the background was just amazing and that’s only one thing! Parkours, the amount of customisation you have, COMBATTTT!!! And the fact that Arno pulls off altairs outfit the best with the robe physics. Unity is the best ac game for me.
I just started playing this for the first time on Series X and just from the opening hour, i was blown away from how great it looks all these years later. Im sure i might bump into glitches but as of now, its been fun.
I love unity and batley if ever encountered bugs, meaning i was able to immerse my self without interruptions, which made me love the game even more. The main themes and osts always give me chills every time i hear them
I never played this entry after hearing all the negative buzz. Recently picked it up and have been pleasantly surprised. I like it more than AC4. Variety, combat, environment, gameplay is all fantastic. Parkour is great compared to the older games. Feel like a real assassin. Like that I can build my gear around stealth. I prefer assassination over open combat. My only complaint is that on my Xbox Series X, I have run into very frustrating bugs. For some reason quick resume does not work, I’m just greeted with a black screen. I ran into a bug where I was stuck climbing. Couldn’t go anywhere no matter what I pressed, luckily fast traveling got me out of that one. I ran into the bug where I’m stuck in a fall animation. One quest where I had to steal books from monks, pickpocketing them was buggy. They’d start to awkwardly move as I was pickpocketing but they weren’t actually reacting to me doing it, they’d just start walking in circles or twitching around. Parkour is great but every so often you still get the frustrating random jump direction or he acts like he can’t go somewhere. For some frustrating reason when I try to draw my weapon to scare bullies it will not do it sometimes. I’ve hit the button 10 times and he still won’t draw his weapon out. I’ve had several visual glitches. Shadows popping in and out, people disappearing randomly. It’s still not as polished as I’d like it to be. Some of these may be problems on the Xbox side of things. Not sure if it’s just not optimized well for my series X. I’ve heard other people playing it who experience zero bugs. Wish I could have been in that group. But overall I’m still having a good time with it. Going to keep going. France is beautiful in this game.
AC Unity is my favorite AC game. Definitely worth playing on PC in 2022+, I recommend setting the Language to French & turn down your HUD to minimal for a truly immersive experience. There are also a few mods & ReShades to make the game look even better. Lovely experience.
I'm playing this game in these months, I'm late I know. But I can't understand all the bad reviewes about it. I love it. Amazing parkour, stunning grapichs and environment. I feel Paris. I like it a lot.
Disagree with the combat system point. I believe Unity combat system is the best in the series. You can actually die in combat, all the other ac games are holding your hand (I haven't played post syndicate). I do agree with gun dodge roll mechanic point and all the other stuff you said.
Unity is such a great game, the parkour, stealth, setting and the co op are amazing. All it really needed was a bit of polish to work out those bugs and a proper transmog system
I’ve owned it for 5 years and Im finally playing it now Its a great step forward in so many ways from the games previous to it, really good fun parkour, I really like the way the world is designed with the crowds and all the different missions everywhere playing with no hud it feels immersive..
I played Unity on Xbox One when it first came out and I experienced more bugs in Black Flag than I did it Unity. I honestly had no issue with it and it remains my favorite in the series. The customization and multiplayer is the best in any of the games by far.
Unity for me is Absolutely amazing, my favourite AC game by a long shot. Incredible parkour, plethora of stealth options and engaging combat. Full customization of equipment and weapon, that have me constantly mixing and matching between them (needs transmog). Arno as a main protagonist is underrated. He's very complex, emotional and deeply flawed assassin which was great to witness just a shame ubi didn't build a little more on the character. Dead Kings was a great DLC too and again showed how complex of a character Arno was. I just wished we had a second DLC were Arno went after Shay for murdering his father but that was just wishful thinking on my part. Lastly Paris is a treat to explore, it dense, atmospheric and beautiful city to run around.
I’ve loved unity since the beginning. It came out at the perfect time. I was in 7th grade and we had just started our French Revolution unit. I had perfect grades through that whole unit. My teacher was surprised that I learned some things from a video game
One of the things I never understood about the ac franchise is that for the first 6 or 7 installments there were no crouch mechanics.. For a game centered around assassinations and stealth it’b be optimal to have a couch button. But I guess it worked out for them bc the earlier ac games were some of the best ones.
I went back to Unity last year to 100 percent the story and dlc and mop up all the achievements I never got and I definitely enjoyed it more than when I initially played it. 60 fps on Series X is great and makes a massive difference. It’s still fairy buggy though. Nothing really bad or completely game breaking but definitely a couple things that forced me to reload the game.
Just finished this a few days ago for the first time. It’s apart of the recent game update PS plus just did. This game is one of the best. The parkour is the best in the franchise. The graphics still holds up. The story was good. I haven’t experienced zero bugs with just playing it today. That’s just my play through . If you haven’t, you did definitely play it.
Played it and finished it this year on PS4 slim .. no bugs but the frame rate was a real pain 20-30fps .... For a smooth experience I recommend you play it on either PS5 or PC
40:47 *"It feels like it was just there because it had to be since it's Assassin's Creed."* 41:40 *"Not only that, but it BREAKS UP THE PACING OF THE MAIN STORY..."* *Exactly* how I've always felt about the modern day story in *ANY* AC game (except, maybe, for Brotherhood).
Unity is the main reason why origins odyssey and Valhalla were developed just bcoz of those creed points stuff and skills and a little prick of it's parkour.....but man unity has a special place in my heart ......I just want another sequel for Arno Dorian maybe 🤔 we will get one in future what do you think ?......I pray it happens
Literally this was the ONLY mainline AC game I had never completed up until a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it a lot. Even the story i thought was a lot better than I had heard for all these years. But i will disagree about this being the LAST true AC game. I still give that title to Syndicate. I've been replaying that again for the first time in years, and while I understand the complaints it gets, it has all of the elements of classic AC in it and then some. I even think they fixed Unitys stealth system quite a bit and the black box assassinations are just as enjoyable if not more so than Unity. Both of these games have become underrated over the years. As much as i love Origins specifically, the direction they went in just hasnt felt right. Thanks for another great video as always my friend.
I have been playing and posting this game recently and it is a great game. Despite the bugs, the map is cool, story is good, free run is sick, combat is pretty good and well varied. You cant hate this game💯
AC Unity has by far the best Assassin-Gameplay in the series. Climbing a building, parkouring around, assassinating a guard, throwing a smoke bomb, jumping down and assassinating two more guards, finishing the poor lonely guard with your phantom blade - absolutely perfect. I dont like the RPG aspects of Origins and Odyssey and Valhallah. I want to be an assassin, not a cheap copy of Geralt. And Unity does a perfect job of letting you be an assassin. The missions are fun, Paris is really, really cool - the Story is okay at best, but the Gameplay and the coop makes up for that. By far the best Assassins Creed when it comes to Gameplay.
The Nostradamus Enigmas were something I think this game nailed, because they require you to read the databases. In other games you might get a fragment of a map and then scour the actual map looking for a place that resembles the shitty drawing or a riddle based entirely on a vague physical description (in Origins they tell you one is somewhere in the canal system of a field and that’s literally all the guidance you get). In Unity you have to read the database and actually learn some interesting history, something I never really did in the previous games because there just wasn’t an incentive to do so.
Unity is probably my favourite AC game, tied with Black Flag. But what Unity has over Black Flag is that I feels more like an assassins creed game. If I want to feel like a true assassin then I would play this game. The parkour and stealth is just what Assassins Creed should be. I hope Infinity’s gameplay styled of off Unity, with the Co-Op as well.
I just bought it a few weeks ago, haven’t gotten around to playing it yet but it’s the one AC game I never finished. Gonna change that after I finish my second run through of Spider-Man.
Just recently played 1, 2 , BH , revelations (played 3 and black flag last year) and going to start rogue for the first time next week… unity is next after that and im super excited, never played it before
I played it a little bit when it first came out on my college roommate's PS4, and it was fun but it being buggy in combination with me busy doing schoolwork and I never got far into it. Then, a few years ago, I bought it and Syndicate on sale for $9.99 each and had a blast. I mostly agree with what you said in this video and personally I'd like to believe in an alternate universe where Unity got at least another year or so of development time it would've been received better and we could've gotten Assassin's Creed games built on it's foundation. I can only imagine how amazing Origins could've been if Bayek was freerunning and doing performing parkour moves like in Unity.
I originally played it at launch and found it so difficult to complete due to all the bugs I ran into, even had a game breaking bug where my save file corrupted but even with all these issues I loved it, I play the game at least once a year and find it incredibly underrated, for me it's my favourite game in the series and even with all the issues it had, it puts the AC games that came after to shame. I highly recommend Unity to anyone.
By far my favorite AC game. Still playing it now. Took a break, started AC Valhalla back up. It has crashed 4 time in the past hour. Guess it's time for some more Unity.
Your trip to France and drawing references to AC was like my own experience visiting L.A. as a GTA5 fan. The real LA was like the GTA5 Los Santos except the real LA was dirtier and had more crime.
When I got my gaming PC, I remember the first thing I wanted to do was 100% this game since so many people gave up on it. Yes, it’s awesome how much content there is HOWEVER, the biggest problem is that once you’re set free in the open world there’s like a bajillion markers stuffed on a dense map. Worst, you cannot even do all the side content till chapter 8 or 9… I appreciate you bringing up the soundtrack: I love how it combines techno-synth-science fiction with classical strings AND even baroque-ish sounds of the time. It has an excellent way of presenting leit motifs throughout the game. Also “UnityLover123” sounds like a Rick Sanchez account when he felt depressed over being dumped by…Unity.
32:00 the reason why we didnt see more between Arno and his adoptive father is because he isnt seeking revenge for his death, he is seeking revenge for Elise
Music, combat, stealth, and environment is top notch. The only thing lacking is story. The story is really bad. This is also partly due to characters. Personally, I do not like Arno. He’s not a good Assassin and had questionable motives in my opinion. Also Bellec, I feel like they were just not flushed out enough. Probably due to how rushed the game was. Overall with the positives I listed before with the coop, it’s not too bad. Plus like you said the side missions, the cafe, and the DLC really heighten its quality.
I made a mistake earlier on another video saying that Unity was a MASTERPIECE - I just didn't know it at the time... What I should have said was Unity was ALMOST A MASTERPIECE After playing almost EVERY Assassins, Creed ever made leaving out Syndicate. When I First starting playing it, I classified it as the Absolute WORST AC Ever made, but as I played it More And More, I realized that it was Truly AMAZING In the way it was executed, it just needed MORE Time put into it to be a MASTERPIECE It was the First AC where I could still feel like the Ultimate BadAss Assassin/Warrior, but I could still die Unlike in other like Assassins Creed 3 Or Black flag I felt like the Ultimate INVICIBLE BadAss No Joke I could Not Be Killed You couldn't Kill me if you TRIED I figured either I'm that BadAss Or the combat was just to EASY even though friends who saw me play AC and ask me how I can just kill more than a 100 guys and Never break a Sweat and would ask me to teach them I still believed the Combat was just to EASY Well, you can do this in AC Unity but you actually have to become Good at it first Or you will get your Ass handed to you Unlike in Black flag when I First started the game I just up and killed 100 soldiers with Edward right of the bat Sooo... Ya try to pull that shit with Arno when you first start before your Good at it and the soldiers will make a BLOODBATH Out of your Body parts. But back to what I was saying: Stealth was AMAZING in Unity. So was Climbing Combat Story Weapons Outfits Visuals Customization Unity could have been a MASTERPIECE But Sadly it wasn't because Well Come On Ubisoft what do you expect from those Money🤑 Grubbing Bastards. Also I wrote this review before I even finished this video. So to see that you pretty much feel the same way I do about this game was Pretty cool bro g as you tend to review Or will review ALL the AC game eventually. On that Note I also Believe that Not Only this game needed a sequel But others did as well coup others, but it seems that Ezio was the ONLY Assassin that got that type of Spotlight.
Unity is the only game between III & Valhalla that actually *feels* like an Assassin’s Creed game should; and I’m glad you mentioned this, too. Too bad Ubisoft doesn’t realize that in order to make all the moneys, they have to make great games and be consistent.
Short answer YES. I have the most playtime on this game than any other AC replayed the story like 5 times and when u get the hang of it’s mechanics is rlly fun u could just parkour around Paris for hours and not be bored, heist missions just had exquisite stealth. Get it even for full price which is $30 for me.
Love the video! But one thing still bothers me to this day: why every French in Unity speaks like British with no accent while the previous games have characters speaks well in French? I can't believe that Ubisoft, being a French company didn't put all the effort in doing some accent
Just, gave us the remake of the first one, why do rift? Why do infinity? Why make an new on on the Aztec settings? Just do a remake next gen without microtransaction
I feel like your a close friend of mine that I can talk with all day, that's why I can watch your videos without skipping, even if it is this 40 mins video I would still not skip any part of the video because of how enjoyable your personality is and the way of the pacing on how you talk to things.
I finally beat it. I bought this game along with Syndicate, back in 2015. I got to the 3rd mission of this game and it just didn't feel the same. A couple of years ago, I stopped playing games all together, due to busy schedule of work-life balance. In November, I started playing again. I realized, Unity is a good game. Coming back to it and starting it over, made me realize it was a good game. The bugs suck, especially since I'm almost finished Dead Kings DLC, and I can't get ammo for the Guillotine, but it's still a good game. Without giving it away, Arno's story may be the most underrated. I haven't played beyond it yet, but Arno feels like the closest we have had to Ezio. Story was a tad weak, but the last bit of the story was really good and emotional. Arno embodies the anti-hero. Wish they would have done more with him. I also have French heritage. My father is french/Iroqouis, so Unity and AC3 were cool to play just for that.
The thing that saddens me the most is how they didn’t seek to further pioneer the multiplayer in assassins creed. Maybe it didn’t work out the best it could of but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t have just tried better instead of dropping it all together
I love ac unity Yeah it had its problems but I really enjoyed the parkour mechanics and the customization also the world building and story was good it had so much potential If they were to combine what origins did with unity It would be the best of both world
Unity will forever be the most underrated to me. Not the best just under appreciated. If they could go back to this formula that would be great. But we have Mythological beasts and iron man armor instead.
Arno and Bayek deserve sequels Update: bought this recently on my Xbox series S and it runs like a charm with that 60fps boost. I could only imagine how it could run on the Series X or PS5
I just bought and downloaded this game, playing it through for the first time, I've played through every other AC game to full completion.. So I'm excited to get this one finished and I'm glad I'm able to experience it without the early launch bugs
I enjoyed this game when it launched on PS4. Never had any crazy bugs. Performance was fine. Then I got a free copy on PC when I bought my GTX 970. Now it runs at 100 fps maxed out on my laptop. It's pretty slick.
Unity and Syndicate are my favourites… When they sell something they have an obligation to fix the mistakes, This can be achieved with updates But They don't care about that.
I've had the game since it was release. I was one of the unlucky people that was experiencing loads of bugs but still played till the end but it was like in a very rushed way. I was not enjoying it and did not take my time with everything. But seeing this and how people enjoy it now. Im gonna play it to finally experience the game
Answer is unequivocally YES. Although must warn, getting 100% will take perseverance, my playthrough is like 300 45min episodes. Those d*mn chests. But what a game, I recognized its beauty and cool protagonist from day 1 but only seriously got around to it some months ago. And one tip, play with literally ZERO HUD, so much more immersion and youre forced to actually get to know the city, navigating by landmarks etc instead of huge foolproof, dumbed down, retardated objective markers. Also remove all enemy, chests etc outlines. Mod for that is in description of my playthrough. Truly amazing game.
Since the day the game was released I didn't want to give up on it. And still, from the E3 this AC is my favorite. I am so happy that now I can say that. I TOLD YA!
Just replayed it after 6 years and I fell in love with the game all over again to the extent that I even 100 percented the achievements. Unity will always be in my top ac games
I’m one of the few people that had no glitches at launch but this game definitely should’ve been delayed a year it also would’ve made the ending to rouge crazier because when it launched more people were playing unity also great vid as always man
Same
i love the game but isnt only the glitches, some parts are just broken in the engine, like the enemies sometimes insta shoot you, or the consumables working the exact opposite way they should be, for example smoke bombs can make guards not hear your gunshots and the firecrackers need to be seen by the enemy to attract them, ofc once you learn those things its not so bad, but my first time woth the game was very frustrating
Same I just had minor things happen to me like doing parkour the limbs would be backwards but outside of that it was fine
Same
Same
I personally like the combat system because fighting against groups was actually challenging so stealth was a lot more encouraged
It was until you got it down then the game really opens up. I stopped trying to be stealthy once I got the swordplay down
Not if you have sugers eagle
I never okay on launch and people say they still have glitches but I’ve heard the tales but never seen seen what they said
once you got the eden sword the game was so easy but i loved the combat too
Litterally best combat in any AC game
It's a visual masterpiece, the environment is definitely on my top 3 of all time.
The assassin's creed 3 did combat fantastically but it also neutered the
Stealth system.
Most amazing one☝️
I think a testament to Unity’s potential and also how great the game is atm is how much it’s talked about to this day. I really wish they handn’t rushed it
Bro, I had watched a video of yours today, the one about the leap of faith from a civilian's perspective. Then I find you here
The fact unity gets complimented for being AC, having best everything and being 'underrated' which is more like the opposite nowadays is so retarded.
@@disswade1104 oh sick dude thats crazy!
It's nice seeing ac creators together I love you both guys u are a gameplay channel and he is reviews
@@T_z_a_x yeah love Master Assassin's content he's a true OG
Words can't even BEGIN to describe the beauty of Unity! While the initial bugs deteriorated the popular opinion about this particular game, the story and visuals are so, so, SO lovely. Arno is my third favourite protagonist after Altaïr and Ezio. His character arc is quite consistent/convincing and it described perfectly how Élise dragged him down. It's really great or even excellent game. I can ramble hours and hours about it, but I'll just leave it here.
yeah unlike eivor and kassandra he actually has character progression, understanding the assasin ways by the end of the game
@@cykablyat9526 Yeah, that's what pisses me off the most about the new AC formula, it's just not as credible as before and even Bayek's purpose for vengeance seemed a little unconvincing/hypocritical to me, though I love Origins.
3rd favourite protagonist? The fuck
@@JamesSmith-ny2gb It depends on personal opinions, no need to curse or anything.
@Kermit you know what would be cool if Eivor became a hidden one, they have the potential to be one.
It’s great of you to make 40+ minute critique 🙌🏼
I'd always choose good look over stats in unity, if you just spend some time mastering the stealth and gadgets usage the game becomes easy enough to do everything without much of a trouble. Except the ancient history coop mission, after all this time it still gives me conniptions.
Exactly like me, get some style first😎 then use the tools as your outfitctell you
Nah, I'll get the BEST equipment for the best stats (despite looking the ugliest) then use McFarlane's Assassin outfit. 🤣
@@digivagrant same
I'm soon getting the game because there are no Napoleonic games on console so I want to use lots of the outfits in the game probably the more basic ones I don't know
The fighting in the old AC’s is refreshing after playing Odyssey or Valhalla.
Yeah but the worst for combat was Syndicate. Just click, click, click. Boring.
Suits probably wanted a souslike experience
That would be a dream come true.
it's funny and a bit cynical that you say you were relaxing while jumping from roof to roof killing people XD
This comment is exactly how an AC game should feel.
As a fan o f classical music, this game is a gem for me , maybe I should buy syndicate too
@@zetsubo5282am hesitant with syndicate... amazing game world environment. i love the cart riding, factories and train stations. but unfortunately, the actual story, and combat sucks. you more or less just suffer the main quest through to be able to unlock the whole map. and you need to spend the first 2 hours in boring tutorial before you get to London
I loved Unity's story. The desire to keep loved ones away from harm is imo the strongest motivation, especially for a man like Arno who experienced loss and grief before. It was believable, tragic and beautiful.
I just wished it went deeper into the french revolution, and actually supported it rather than weirdly demonising the revolutionaries.
@@iz723It's my favourite AC game but this bothered me too. Maybe because I'm French lol
So yeah, it's DEFINITELY worth playing :)
why do you prefer Revelations over Brotherhood? just curious
@@thms6833 Very good time to ask that question since I've just ended replaying the Ezio Collection!
I'll start with AC2;
• So AC2 felt like it had some good ideas, the animations, specially combat were extremely smooth, I'm not gonna comment on it's visuals, because that wouldn't really be fare since i never played it on PS3.
• Now to AC Brotherhood;
Brotherhood had a great idea, it felt it wanted to be the most badass ac, and honestly, it kinda succeeded.
(I also hated that they force you to wear the ugliest shoulder pauldrons in the game for basically half the game😂)
• Least but definitely not least, AC Revelations;
Revelations took everything the other two failed to do and did them perfectly.
I'm so happy to see people are turning back and giving this game one more look :')
I always loved this game but felt like it was a sin to talk any good or like it due to the massive hate to it.
I love unity and the animations in it are some of the best from the franchise
I watched this review last week and it gave me the push to buy the game after seeing it on sale.
It is an amazing game.
Even with the odd small bug it still one of the best games I have played in a long time.
I doubt it’ll happen but I hope that Ubisoft releases a 4k60FPS patch for the PS5.
I had heard that they are planning to release a fix for AC Syndicate on consoles so I hold on to hope that they will surprise us with a patch for AC Unity too.
so the game worked fine on PS5? I wanna buy it but I wanna be sure too
@IASP17 I'm getting a copy from Amazon tomorrow for $19 let's see how it goes
Unity has the best game map of any AC title. Revelations, AC2 and Brotherhood come close. Syndicate is also okay
Played it on day one, still top 3 for me. And still praying for a Unity 2 with coop. Why did they remove coop gameplay. Man that was fun.
The main themes and osts always give me chills every time i hear them
really nice, I love a good 40 min + vid on one of my favorite games
Where did you find those reshades?

I'm playing this game in these months, I'm late I know. But I can't understand all the bad reviewes about it. I love it. Amazing parkour, stunning grapichs and environment. I feel Paris. I like it a lot.
One thing I loved about unity was how fluid/fast the parkour looked .
No HUD unity 😍🥰👍 have fun my brother
I played Unity on Xbox One when it first came out and I experienced more bugs in Black Flag than I did it Unity. I honestly had no issue with it and it remains my favorite in the series. The customization and multiplayer is the best in any of the games by far.
This channel made me go back to unity forgot how much I loved the game just wish I had people to play co-op with
Unity for me is Absolutely amazing, my favourite AC game by a long shot.
I played Rogue first, but I knew the start of the game. When I reached the end, I was mind blown.
That’s why Rogue and Unity are my favorites.
The sword gameplay in this one made me love it more as I kept playing and in the end I love Unity way more than when I started it
I went back to Unity last year to 100 percent the story and dlc and mop up all the achievements I never got and I definitely enjoyed it more than when I initially played it. 60 fps on Series X is great and makes a massive difference. It’s still fairy buggy though. Nothing really bad or completely game breaking but definitely a couple things that forced me to reload the game.

I honestly never had any major glitches with this game. But i certainly see what happened to other people
The Nostradamus Enigmas were something I think this game nailed, because they require you to read the databases.
I am really liking your long reviews..its what i wanted from you for a long time..because you are a long time..thank you master assassin
Just got unity on sale for $9.00, I’m starting it tomorrow, amazing review man, got me excited for it
Just recently played 1, 2 , BH , revelations (played 3 and black flag last year) and going to start rogue for the first time next week… unity is next after that and im super excited, never played it before
i hope you get a clean playthrough without too many bugs.. its truly an amazing assassin's creed game ill tell you that much!
Same I play another games then only one video of unity pop up on UA-cam and I'm back at it 😝
"age is just a number"
Police officer:but she was underage
Your trip to France and drawing references to AC was like my own experience visiting L.A. as a GTA5 fan.
The real LA was like the GTA5 Los Santos except the real LA was dirtier and had more crime.
When I got my gaming PC, I remember the first thing I wanted to do was 100% this game since so many people gave up on it. Yes, it’s awesome how much content there is HOWEVER, the biggest problem is that once you’re set free in the open world there’s like a bajillion markers stuffed on a dense map. Worst, you cannot even do all the side content till chapter 8 or 9…
I appreciate you bringing up the soundtrack: I love how it combines techno-synth-science fiction with classical strings AND even baroque-ish sounds of the time. It has an excellent way of presenting leit motifs
throughout the game.
Also “UnityLover123” sounds like a Rick Sanchez account when he felt depressed over being dumped by…Unity.
32:00 the reason why we didnt see more between Arno and his adoptive father is because he isnt seeking revenge for his death, he is seeking revenge for Elise
when I saw Germain, I instantly knew he was the mastermind. He was just so unusually calm for someone that's been captive for over a month
I just started playing syndicate for the first time ever and syndicate feels like what unity could've been if it was polished
I made a mistake earlier on another video saying that Unity was a MASTERPIECE - I just didn't know it at the time... What I should have said was Unity was ALMOST A MASTERPIECE
After playing almost EVERY Assassins, Creed ever made leaving out Syndicate. When I First starting playing it, I classified it as the Absolute WORST AC Ever made, but as I played it More And More, I realized that it was Truly AMAZING
In the way it was executed, it just needed MORE Time put into it to be a MASTERPIECE
It was the First AC where I could still feel like the Ultimate BadAss Assassin/Warrior, but I could still die
Unlike in other like Assassins Creed 3 Or Black flag I felt like the Ultimate INVICIBLE BadAss No Joke I could Not Be Killed You couldn't Kill me if you TRIED I figured either I'm that BadAss Or the combat was just to EASY even though friends who saw me play AC and ask me how I can just kill more than a 100 guys and Never break a Sweat and would ask me to teach them
I still believed the Combat was just to EASY
Well, you can do this in AC Unity but you actually have to become Good at it first Or you will get your Ass handed to you Unlike in Black flag when I First started the game I just up and killed 100 soldiers with Edward right of the bat Sooo... Ya try to pull that shit with Arno when you first start before your Good at it and the soldiers will make a BLOODBATH Out of your Body parts.
But back to what I was saying: Stealth was AMAZING in Unity. So was
Climbing
Combat
Story
Weapons
Outfits
Visuals
Customization
Unity could have been a MASTERPIECE
But Sadly it wasn't because
Well Come On Ubisoft what do you expect from those Money🤑 Grubbing Bastards.
Playing it in 2024. Great game. A true AC game and not RPG game!
Because they are from Québec not France, they are fluent in English compared to frenchs, better to set up the game in French 😍👍 true immersion.
I love ac unity
Yeah it had its problems but I really enjoyed the parkour mechanics and the customization also the world building and story was good
it had so much potential
If they were to combine what origins did with unity
It would be the best of both world
Unity will forever be the most underrated to me. Not the best just under appreciated. If they could go back to this formula that would be great. But we have Mythological beasts and iron man armor instead.
"Age is just a number" should put that into some context
Arno and Bayek deserve sequels
Update: bought this recently on my Xbox series S and it runs like a charm with that 60fps boost. I could only imagine how it could run on the Series X or PS5
to be fair the helix credits sucked, to get a good weapon it would be 10 dollars or 10 minutes of it belongs in a museum
Unity is my favorite AC by far
I just bought and downloaded this game, playing it through for the first time, I've played through every other AC game to full completion.. So I'm excited to get this one finished and I'm glad I'm able to experience it without the early launch bugs
I enjoyed this game when it launched on PS4. Never had any crazy bugs. Performance was fine.
Then I got a free copy on PC when I bought my GTX 970.
Now it runs at 100 fps maxed out on my laptop. It's pretty slick.
Excellent review. It’s on my list to play, love the music and time period!
I never experienced game breaking glitches. Unity is one of my most played ac games as well.
I TOLD YA!
Still playing it? Wanna join on ps?
If the game didn’t end like that (sort of cliche ending), even with the bugs, I would say this is the best game ever made in ac series
Bravo on this AC Unity essay. A lot of great points and editing. Keep it up! 👌🏾🔥
Just replayed it after 6 years and I fell in love with the game all over again to the extent that I even 100 percented the achievements. Unity will always be in my top ac games
