Fun fact- of the animals in the video, the carcharodontosaurs are likely the best parents! At least some carcharodontosaurs lived in mixed-age groups, based on fossils of Mapusaurus found close together; perhaps they were living similarly to modern nile crocodiles, who let the largest animals in the group attack a powerful herbivore and then gang up on it as a cooperative group.
As for the other two, both the long-necked sauropods and flying pterosaurs appear to bury and abandon their eggs, like modern sea turtles. Damage to sauropod eggshells from acidic sediments suggests that many of them migrated to geothermal heat sources to give their sauropodlets the best start in life, while fish-eating pterosaurs have been found mass-nesting on beaches, where their freshly-hatched flaplings would start flying and looking for coastal food sources on their own almost as soon as they hatched. (And yes, 'sauropodlet' and 'flapling' are indeed widely-recognised terms for a baby sauropod and pterosaur respectively.)
Thanks bro first like
Nice
flapling is now my new favorite word
@@CookedPeeper lol
It was pretty surprising that none of the Allosaurids or Carcharodontosaurids lasted to the end of the Cretaceous.
Love how you animated the sauropods walking. The “taking one step at a time” theory actually makes a lot of sense and you captured that well here.
thank you !!
Don't know any other way the would lmfao
this dude's so amazing, honestly. just imagine if he made his very own dinosaur documentary
hello thank you !
He really need too make one i would love to watch it omg!!
This guy legit has better animation than professional animation companies
hello thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
Facts
The way the whale moves in the surf is damp near perfect. Also even if they’d never really met it’s interesting to see an existing animal next to a Carcharodontosaurus so you can see how truly colossal these theropods are
I’m pretty sure it’s a mosasaur, but carcasses do be lookin weird when they rot
Whales did not exist in the Mesozoic. It was looks like some sort of marine reptile.
hello thanks its a whale carcass the first shot is still WIP atm i still need to try layer a more fitting creature on top i should of probably uploaded the night version for this preview so you could not see it so well .
@@johnsonmortimer how about en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leedsichthys ?
Firstly - I enjoyed this immensely - amazing work - particularly the Pterosaurs on the back of the Sauropods :-). Secondly - I think the juvenile ?Carcharodontosaurs? need to be more leggy - they look just like down-sized versions of their parents, whereas I think that there is now a lot of research indicating that Theropod body dimension ratios and ecological niches (I'm sure that these two go hand in hand) changed throughout the animal's lifetime....
I love how the pterosaurs sit on the sauropods like birds on a rhino. Cool touches like that bring so much life to the animation
thanks !
you're getting better and better, keep doing that!! you're amazing
Thank you!
the physics of water when waves break into the Carcharodontosaurus's huge meal which expresses the most gorgeous details I have ever seen in this animated series. Your animations are very qualified, I appreciate them!
thank you ! the waves are real footage the dinos are animated to the movements of the water
It looks very good, even if it isn't finished. I liked how the pterosaurs were perching on the sauropods' backs: it reminds me of modern oxpecker birds and egrets on water buffalo, rhinos and hippos. It makes sense that the niches of both hunting platform and platform hunters would exist and filled in such a way. I've said it before, but your work breathes life into the ancient past And seeing the baby carcharodontosaurs with the adults is a nice touch, too. Whilst there is still a lot of debate about whether big theropods lived in groups or not, given that this dinosaur group most likely gave rise to birds, it only makes sense that they'd show some truly bird-like behaviours, such as parents escorting hatchlings/chicks until they're old enough to fend for them selves. I can't wait to see the finished product- it's going to be spectacular!
hello thank you very much Carolyn great to read 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊❤️
Лучшие и наиболее реалистичные видео.. Спасибо уважаемый Джулиан за популяризацию палеонтологии и науки 👍
Привет большое спасибо 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
This guy needs a kickstarter for his own production company!
Make it happen! So many people would totally watch o.O
thanks i will try to get some funding for a doc but i will try to find a production company as i would need help filming footage
Carcharodontosaurus appears to be a bit shrunken (I mean shrink wrapped) but the animation was amazing.
thanks !!
So amazing. Looking forward to the final.
hello thanks kelly !!
It’s good that we’re seeing Carcharodontosaurus again after the first preview and nice behind the scenes of you made this because it looks really good and breathtaking in my opinion and I want more of the breathtaking animation of the dinosaurs in the future.
Great video and keep it up.
hello thanks ?
@@johnsonmortimer, you’re welcome and you’re the best at filmmaking in my opinion.
The bird's-eye view at the beginning was really cool! Loving all the hitchhikers on the backs of those huge titanosaurs, possibly Paralititans? The full version of this is going to be epic!
yeah I would guess they are paralititan, as they are the largest sauropods known from the kem kem beds
@@aerogogle3450 actually Paralititan is only known from the Bahariya Formation in Egypt, not the Kem Kem Group in Morocco
@@7-sBone-Pit sorry yeah only rebbachisaurus is known from the kem kem
thank you yes there paralititan the full am will be about 6 mins hopefully will be good, when put all together
@@johnsonmortimer So it is the Bahariya Formation then. Called it!
It's coming along nicely, can't wait for the finished project.
thank you !
Spectacular work. Always love seeing your videos.
thanks Stephen

thank you the full am should be up end of the week
Hello. I remember being a child during this time in history. I found it very difficult to attend school because of the Pterodactyls, that would swoop down at me.
😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 we use to have big sea gulls where i live. would steal your lunch if not careful
Actually I followed your channel for a while and I must admit that this is some very good work

thats gonna be a banger when its finished, looks rly great!
thanks !
All your videos are a master piece.
thank you !! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That dead xiphactinus is insane!!!! Everything about it is incredible! The details, and movement, especially how it moves like it’s clearly decomposing! U must b the pinnacle of animation like this!
I wish I could help, but I wouldn’t even begin to know how to find the right people, but SOME, or at least ONE of u knows someone, or at least someone who KNOWS someone who is in the correct position to take a look at, and consider Julian for becoming a professional animator, at LEAST for any prehistoric stuff, as he’s proven time and time again, that he’s well ahead of anyone who animated anything for tv shows, so far, although I’m sure he could do much more than just that, if he wants to. He could easily be working on jurassic park movies! He shouldn’t be wasting his talents making little youtube videos for us all to go crazy over, he should be putting his absurdly incredible skills into things that WAY more people can enjoy, and that will make the stuff we love, even better! Imagine any dino/prehistoric show uv seen-imagine they looked like THIS! We all would love them even more, and have been amazed by them, even more! It’s literally for EVERYONES benefit that we get him working on bigger projects, which also means that by him NOT working on those projects, we’re all losing out! I’ve said all this before, but I don’t THINK there’s been any development with it, so let’s make it happen! Seriously, there’s at least one of u out there that literally needs to just talk to a FRIEND of urs, and mention it! How hard is that?!? Please do it! Even if a friend just works in the correct field, or for the correct company, and isn’t actually directly involved in anything like that, it would still b so easy for them to pass on just a link to one of these animations(the most recent ones would b the best)! Thousands of people will donate even thousands of dollars, totaling in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, to even the idiot people who r asking for money for the stupidest reasons, that clearly don’t deserve to even have their problem solved at ALL, let alone for FREE, on those crowdfunding sites, so PLEASE, can’t the ones of u who have the ability to help out, please help out?Again, this is for all of our benefit, not JUST Julians! Lol Honestly, i have no idea why i get so pumped up over the idea of getting him discovered, but i just do!
hello thanks very much for your kind words Andrew i don't know what to say 😊 i will be trying to make my own larger docs or film project my latest am should be up end of the week i hope you like it !!
Yay!!! Love the animation it’s so lively
hello thank you !
Preview 2 was just as good as the first and I love it alot.
Hope you're day is going great
hello thanks kellel i was not really planning to post another preview but the full am is taking longer then expected 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
Awesome work as always bruhther lol
I know zip about the programs you use to create this video. I'm in awe of your ability to recreate anatomically accurate animals and have them move in a believably lifelike manner. Your work honestly looks more like photography than anything created on a computer. I love the touch of the tick pterosaurs. That seems to be likely and contributes to bringing them to life. Bravo!
Thank you so much 😀 the full am should be up end of the week
I want you to know that you are amazing. Have a great day and thanks for these awesome renders

This is a awesome project!
thanks quite a bit of work the full animation close to 6 mins now
@@johnsonmortimer awesome!
Amazing all is so good animated good job i really like it 👍👍
hello thank you !
@@johnsonmortimer hello your welcome
The way the whale moves with the waves is so realistic!
I am pretty sure that the whale corps is real.
@@tjarkschweizer that would probably explain it 😂
hello its a whale carcass the shot is still WIP i still need to try layer a more fitting creature on top i might make it a Ichthyosaurus or maybe mosa
@@johnsonmortimer I am afraid you can only use a speculative Mosasaur genus. Since the large Mosasaurs that we know of had not evolved yet and the giant ichthyosaurs already went extinct.
Or you could have some fun with it, like turning it into a giant squid or something. Wouldn't make any sense but probably look fancy.
@@johnsonmortimer that’s amazing that you made it!
That looks pretty good
thank you !
Amazing work for 1 person!
I really like the skinning, makes it really look like there's things moving underneath.
I would try to remove the tire tracks at 2:16 though :p
hello thanks the full am should be up end of the week i have removed most of the track. i added lots of dino prints on top and some mist
Amazingsaurus!
hello thanks 😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing as always. Hey. Have you decided if you are going to do that mosasaurus vs megalodon video.
hello yes maybe a mosasaurus v a large shark which was around the same time
@@johnsonmortimer ok.
Excellent video. Fantastic.🦕🦖😊😀😘

5 min long, Awesome, that´s got to be your longest video yet.
