This was a pretty good segment. 80s pro wrestling had a lot of charm back then.
Not anymore after Billy Jack ended his wife the other day.
Billy in his prime here lookin badass
His character I recall was spawned it seems from the Billy Jack movie
He definitely does. Just following the career and life of Billy Jack Haynes will really give a person some insight into how much mental illness can change a person. He went from 'the man' and turned into a rambling nut that doesn't even look like the same person. I don't even have to say why he recently made the news..... It is sad.
@@michaelr.4878 No even back then they used to call Billy Jack Billy Whack because he was crazy. 💪💪
According to other wrestlers no the dude was always wound tight . I met him a few times. He was never anything but nice to me however and I weighed 175 ibs. So it's not like he had to be. Idk. He actually seemed like he'd been though a bit. I was like a teenager/ early twenties and it wasn't now. I did see a wrestler get mad at a guy at a gym for calling it " fake " . As in picked the dude up by the throat. 🤣
Billy Jack is an evil man. They uploaded this after ending his wife’s life.
Billy Jack was a bad bad man .
That was Awesome! Even had the Road Warriors come out and talk some smack. God, I miss those days....
Today's wrestling is goat tripe. I miss the old days of NWA AWA and WWF. Thank goodness for UA-cam 👍
@@dougfredricks2017 UA-cam is all we have left to relive the good ol days of wrestling. Sad, but true.
They only uploaded this as Billy Jack ended his wife’s life the other day. Don’t miss the old days when Billy Jack is a nutcase.
@@therainmakerinsider yeah, I believe his wife was extremely sick and had been for years. I heard that they made a promise to each other that if she got too sick and couldn't take the pain anymore that he would end it for her. Alot of people do that.
Can't belive what i read about Billy in the news 😢
I've been watching Pro Wrestling since the mid 80's, and it literally wasn't until about 10 years ago that I found out Slaughter actually never served in the Marines.. As a US Military veteran myself, I was very surprised when I did some research on "SGT" I found out that he actually NEVER served in the US Marines.... I feel so silly lol
The Road Warriors were beasts 😮
Oh Man.. you guys punched me in the feels with this. I was 9 yrs old and I remember watching this. God bless Paul AND Billy Jack. I won’t remember him for what he’s accused of, I’ll always remember him as one of My favorite Portland Wrestlers. The 80’s were truly Portlandia’s best years .
I love the respect the news anchor dude is giving Srg. BJH and Hawk & Animal. Lord nose how many snobby people like this. That guys in the business had dealt with over the years. Especially in the olden days. When Kayfabe was everything. You can tell this guy is well schooled on exactly who these 4 bad ass dudes are/where. Look at the Traps on Hawk. Animal standing there like a Tank. Bill Jack was a beast of a man himself. Also pretty sure he was sparing partner to some of the famous Heavyweight Boxer’s before he got into the business. A real bad dude. Rest in peace to Hawk and Animal btw. And, prayers for Billy Jack on his current situation. Slaughter always seemed like a real stand up kinda dude. Nothing but respect and admiration from me.
@7:12 When Billy steps up,….they all take a step back. ‘NUFF SAID.
Sooo sad to hear the tragic news involving Billy Jack and the killing of his wife. My condolences to her family, Im sorry for their loss, God rest her soul. God have mercy on the the both of them. 🙏
You sound as crazy as Billy Jack. Seek help.
The mighty road warriors in the 80s were monsters
That nudge Animal gave to Hawk at 5:24 of the video before he stood up and gave Sarge & Billy some verbal abuse. 😂
Much better times
Hawk definitely looks buzzed here. RIP.
They really knew how to sell it back in the days.
Please post more content like this!👍
They won’t. They uploaded this after he ended his wife’s life.
Billy Jack looked pretty serious
This was awesome. Thanks for posting!!💪💪
Wrestling at it's best!
What a precious gem. No cap. Great upload👍
It’s so difficult to fathom that the Road Warriors are deceased at such a young age and such extreme physical shape.
This is wrestling. Look at the SIZE of the Warriors. What modern team is on that level?
So wrestling to you = steroids. Are you Vince?
@@staticcharm3808hey genius did he say that. He said they were huge. Next time ask mom to read it to you
Thank you. More please.
5:07 Paul Ellering with a slip of the tongue that would have undermined the "kayfabe" magazine 1985 Awards issue
Billy Jack was spot on about pro wrestling about to take off. So much was brewing in the industry and VM was about to bring WWF mainstream. The Golden Era evolved to the Attitude Era. Monday Night Wars and forward. These guys here paved the way for every pro wrestler today.
Awesome upload!
Billy Jack certainly followed in Jimmy Snukas footsteps 12:52
Man the RW as faces was bad ass but as heels there were off the hook.
Why wasn't Billy Jack Haynes a bigger star? He should have been the world champion!
He apparently gave off the "He's nuts" to a lot of people. They turned out to be right too lol.
Hawk is so JACKED here
Steroids are amazing. Although that group ( the RW , rick rude etc ( from Minnesota were all big guys. Farm land probably . Mike looked jacked at 52 or whatever when he died. I remember seeing a documentary and he looked pretty healthy for a guy who died the next day ..rip . Sad .
Hawk and Billy Jack would have been one hell of a shoot fight
Billy's ring game is lit
I saw all of these guys wrestle in Seattle a few days after the Portland card that year
Yeah
Kayfabe at its best. Miss those times
Riiiiiight! 80's Pro Wrestling characters at it's Kayfabe finest
Little known fact: Comedian Freddy Lewis briefly went by the name Billy Jack Lewis. xoxo The Clarences
GODDAMN YOU CLARENCES !!!! I WILL GET YOU!!!!!
Holy Crap!!!!! road warriors just hit the stage heavy
Definitely one of the toughest guys in pro-wrestling Slaughter was…
lol sure he was
Billy Jack would put you in a hurt bag.
Comedian Freddy Lewis called that 800 number. Then, he called me to chauffeur him to the match.
Great acting! 👍 😅
Think how long the ROAD WARRIORS lasted for how many guys watched them growing would meet them in the ring
Is it just me or does Hawk seem like he was geeking? Rip LOD.
G.I. Joe
Yea, Sarge talked about toys, Billy Jack was out moving coke for the Clintons . Good Ol days
* allegedly. Although I don't know. If you're going go invent elaborate stories why keep it up for 40 years? He's not Rudolph Hess
Monday, September 23,1985 ( Live ) on Channel 2 KATU live Studio with Sgt . Slaughter(AWA America Hw Champion) & Billy Jack Haynes ( of CWF 1/2 of NWA US Tag Team Champions - Florida Version ) & The Road Warriors ( AWA World Tag Team Champions) & Precious Paul Ellering promoting Portland , Oregon: Memorial Coliseum Monday, 9/23/1985 PNW Show, The Road Warriors beat Sgt Slaughter & Billy Jack Haynes via DQ, Note:Tuesday 9/24/1985 was PNW from Seattle, Washington: Seattle center Coliseum NWA World HW Title Match Ric Flair ( c ) vs Billy Jack Haynes; Sgt Slaughter vs Karl Steiner The Road Warriors vs The Russians ( Ivan & Nikita Koloff ) so their wrong here.
Even in kayfabe because Stg. Slaughter “never” served in the military
The cold war drip is strong in this
The Best Tag Team ever The Legion of Doom period
Where's 70s Community Affairs programming for teens, Youth Today, Options For Tomorrow?
All this talk about how tough Haku was, Billy Jack Haynes was tougher! Just look up his stories.
Billy Jack would have crushed Haku back then. Haku bit some little dude's nose halfway off and everyone ran with it and made him out to be the toughest guy in the world. Scott Steiner would have kicked the shit out of Haku too.
@@Robert-nu4vc You are full of shit man no way
@@Robert-nu4vcROFLMFAO there's a reason steiner never tried haku
9:58 wtf was that shawn michaels
Shawn is from Texas
That kid doesn't even look like him ..also don't get McMahon all hot and bothered
Kayfabe at its best!
It's a shame what Billy Jack is accused of prayers for the families involved
Good old kayfabe era, before Vince turned it into non believable silly characters and gimmicks
You mean a billion dollar company?
Slaughter had flabby arms even back then.
It's called swole! Bulk! Or Slaughter Cannons!
Slaughter started in the early 70s.
N then sgt slaughter became a principal at a school in connecticut
not true at all
Slaughter looks like he could be leno's brother.
Sell tickets! ❤
Anyone know the result of the match they had against the warriors?
The Road Warriors won by dq...Slaughter used a chair and got him and Billy Jack disqualified....it's on youtube...good match
Lots of Charlotteans!
Billy jack never blinks, sign of a psychopath
Billy looks like doctor death
Sad what's happened to Billy now
Estos eran verdaderos luchadores de la legendaria WWF y no las ranas, lagartijas y redrojos de hoy de la WWE
Roman Reigns would like a word with you. How about GUNTHER?
@@chadk890 ya dije y punto.
They would want no part of Billy Jack!
im not sure what happened to billy jack haynes along the way, then here a couple days ago, he killed his wife.
Thanks for showing up and adding nothing
It was The Full Nelson Challenge, and she lost.
Billy Jack had the body but couldn't sell a promo if his life depended on it.
Soooo little Michael who lost his dad in nam gave him the flag?? This aired in 1985..... cmon Sarge 😂
Michael was a midget 😂
Cmon Billy Jack vs flair
Billy jack would have destroyed hawk in a real fight and animal too...the road warriors were big guys but couldn't fight in a real fight
Not true actually. LOD were the real deal.
Billy Jack bigger than either one of them.
How did anyone ever believe that pro wrestling was real?
What do you mean? 🤔
Probably the same way they believe elections are . Ohhh. You were sooo sure you landed a knockout. Nah. I mean people believe anything on TV. Look at your clown leader, drug addict celebrities and satanic pop stars. Ps , liv Morgan is adorable. Believe that cynic man ! Haha .
i did as a kid
i dont know billy. but lookin at him here, he looks like an amateur wrestler and could probably beat all of them.
Amateur boxer. And killed a guy buy hitting him ending up in prison. He told me about it way back ..again I met the guy just at a gym or once at a store. Nice guy. To me. I'm super glad I wouldn't have to fight him . I wouldn't win . And that's not against most people. But this guy ? Yeah. 300 ib dudes hid from him so ill pass 🤣.
slaughter was never in the military. was only a gimmick
This is when wrestling was really good, you had the local stuff.
And then that stupid Vince McMahon bought up all the small territories and wrecked it now it's a joke.
Did Billy Jack just say that he was 27 and still in high school?! Hahahaha!!!!!!!
That's believable
Clean out your ears, he said he dropped out of high school!
@@popeyedoyle6360lol
Dropped out of school to go to Nam, then do armed robberies and go to prison and probably a manslaughter as well... Surprised they skipped to age 27.
No, he didn't say that!! Your hearing things I guess!!
Can you imagine Seth Rollins, Sam Zayne, Kevin Owens in this interview. They look like dweebs compare to the Wariors, Billy Jack ,even Sgt Slaughter
How about GUNTHER? Bron Brekker? Roman and Rock?
Murdered his wife he did.
Bigfoot lol
Then I went gay for a while
This is not in any way relevant to current sad events. Billy has had mental health issues for some time allegedly ( although a dude he wrestled with in Portland told me a story that was interesting) and this does not have relevance. Incidentally Sgt Slaughter was not a marine or ever served. Its wrestling. Entertainment . Hilariously my 17 year old genius self was in USMC mcrd San Diego right about this time. At least I didn't have to worry about Andre the Giant going to bathroom on me like Bad News Brown. God that's just irony . Speaking of people who probably didn't notice old Billy Jack was a little edgy ? Vince McMahon. Lol, not one thing that's coming out shocks me . I knew Vince was a freak
Everything you wrote is correct but that is the biggest pro wrestling word salad that I have ever seen.
Looks like Sgt needs to hit the gym with his arms.
@@mat2375 Kamal Harris wrote his comment for him.
Semper Fi,Parris Island MCRD June 21,1975 induction date.
For you . Thanks for your input regarding my recollections
Another interesting thing is, Billy Jack is in jail right now cuz he killed his wife.
Billy Jack is 70 years old, his wife was 85. Billy Jack will never get out.
I just hate how Slaughter maintains the story that he was military. He never was. Its gross. Especially since he received deferments and was in opposition to the war.
I hate to break this too you but the undertaker isn't really dead , the Iron Shiek really wasn't an Olympic medalist , HHH Really isn't from Connecticut and Vince McMahon really is durag Vince. I feel ya. As a marine I always kinda laughed at him . Kurt ANGLE REALLY DID WIN AN OLYMPIC MEDAL WITH A BROKEN FREAKING NECK THOUGH 😮. USA ! LOL . I want iyo sky to wrestke me and of course ill lose. Honestly I don't watch haven't since like 26 years ago but God shes great. Mostly it's very bad entertainment now
@@terenceflanagan1225Sheiky baby did win a medal in the 1968 Olympics and then became an assistant coach for the US team and was at one time a personal bodyguard for the shah of Iran.... they may play characters sometimes on tv and sometimes they are bada$$ in real life.....
shiek did not win a medal, thats why he was released from the team@@BudDavis269
What's wrong with it?
@@popeyedoyle6360 it was fine during the times when he was active.. but he maintains it to this day. Its not right.
keep uploading these
They uploaded this in the wake of the Billy Jack ending his wife’s life the other day. They won’t keep uploading this.
Is this stuff? Real? 😂
