Fun fact about Adult Swim: The guy who voiced the “Welcome to Glory Sound Prep” and the other blurbs, Chris Sabat, also voiced Piccolo in Dragon Ball Z. In a way, Piccolo is technically part of the “GSP universe,” if you will, hence to the reference to the planet Namek(also a DBZ reference) in the opening line. Jon was a huge fan of the show as a kid, which explains why he wanted Chris on the track, and called it Adult Swim as well. And as a full-circle moment, Chris got Jon to voice a small character in the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie. So yeah, Jon Bellion is a bonafide nerd.
Jon is truly one of the greatest producers/ songwriters out there, he has won 2 Grammy for songwriting and producing and just has been nominated for his 3rd, I found a list of the songs he wrote and produces, defiantly song recognizable songs. Justin Bieber - Holy, Ghost, Anyone, I Can’t Be Myself, Hailey, Die for you, Deserve you, Loved by you Jason Derulo - Trumpets Maroon 5 - Memories, Lost Katy Perry - Daisies Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky Eminem/ Rihanna - Monsters (Grammy) Christian Agularia/ Demo Lovato - Fall in Line (Grammy) CeeLo Green Jonas Brothers JungKook - Seven (nominated for a Grammy) Camila Cabello - Shameless, Liar 5sos Zayn (Nominated as producer of the year this year
I love how much you loved Mah’s Joint. which is about his grandmother that unfortunately passed away due to alzheimers. lyrics like “whats the point of making memories when you cant even find them when you’re 70” hit super hard when u know this. and his mom had to take care of her “your mother was a mother to her mom”
good news, you said you wanted to know behind his thought process? he has a lot of videos of him creating his music. you should look up his "the making of" series!
Mah joint is basically a song for his mom cuz if I remember correctly she had Alzheimers. You need to see his making of glory sound prep. Bro got his friends together and they got drunk and recorded that “la la la la” part that sounds unedited.
love the video. Something I keep finding funny is everything you dislike initially or have an issue with ironically has a lot of layers lyrically to them, and Jon does focus spritually in his own way
Jon Travolta - jon bellion, travis mendes (jon’s best friend/vocalist) and ric volta (producer). I take it as an ode to the three guys. I thought it was corny until i realized it was more than just growing up and changing like travolta
Okay I feel like you need to listen to the third Ernest break down adult swim to really get the bars in the song and just how clever they are. Jon went absolutely crazy on that.
@@KnightReacts Also on the topic of this, some AJR fan said in your The Click video, made a comment on how he didn’t like the video that much, and in that comment, he said Jon Bellion is utter trash. I couldn’t take it, as AJR ripped him off completely.
22:15 I think AJR uses trumpets too playfully rather than as a serious melodic instrument. but i guess different artists + different methods = different sounds.... AJR could genuinely benefit from doing an entirly serious album one day rather than their usual: "hey, here's a million sounds and topics that were trying to get you to relate to all at once!".
why is everything you have to say so negatively spun. You'll say something like "oh I like this but it's stupid" or "I really liked this song but this is really bad and is weird" like bro, maybe just sit and enjoy and stop looking for issues, it's a proven thing that most people don't enjoy songs properly until they've heard it multiple times at least as it takes us knowing the song to truly enjoy them.

So, the woman you hear in any of these tracks is Jon's sister. Who is a nurse for her day job. Insanely talented woman.

I defiantly need to watch and maybe even react to them!
@@KnightReacts did you react to em?

For real when he said there was lyrical miracles bars I was very confused and hoped he had given examples
yes this is a great album!!!
i love how all the Jon fans are here
Not a huge Jon Bellion fan, he can be quite corny at times, but I do respect and appreciate his music and his fans.
He can be but he pulls it off unlike AJR

@@raythepretentiousnerd As a fan of both AJR and Jon Bellion, AJR absolutely did not rip off Jon Bellion.

As a huge Bellion fan, I respect the respect you show even if you don’t like his stuff.
this album was 2018 which was like peak mumble rapping.
the Jon Bellion lore is crazyyy in the comments!
"i never wanted to be famous, stop calling me underated"
I couldn't stop smiling during this video because I LOVE seeing people feel the same way I feel about Jon Bellion. He's unreal.
Check out his acoustic songs. Some of his best work.
So good
You need to listen to his cove city live performance. Amazing music made

This was my second most streamed album of 2023 and I even bought the vinyl
Don’t take my first reactions so seriously lol
