      have you listened to jons older stuff? like the 'scattered thoughts' mixtape and 'claps and autotunes for lovers' ?? if not you should definitely do a reaction video to that stuff! jon graduated high school with my sister, so i've been following and supporting him for a long time. i'm so glad he's getting the recognition he deserves. it's nice to see people appreciate his music the way i always have!

    • @DougAraujo

      He said his intention was to make a “mini mix tape” within a track, so keeping that in mind while listening really adds to it. Shows off the creativity and provides a reason for all the switches

    A few things... Just wanted to start by saying I have been a fan of Jon Bellion for about 3 years now. Came into the game a little late, but better late than never. I don't think I have seen someone put so much into their music before. The first time I heard Human Condition, I was blown away. I still am. But this new album just sort of feels different. This is a personal feeling for me and something I think we all agree with, but the goosebumps during every single song, along with the message and fucking vibes it puts off....??? Just insanity and the reason why we love him. This reaction was just spot on. I am so happy I found this channel because this enhanced the album even more for me. You helped me hear so many sounds that my ears didn't pick up. Those background quiet claps were just ughh. I wish I had the ear you have for music. I have listened to this album about 4-5 times so far and I learned more from this video than just listening by myself. Thank you so much! Definitely have a new subscriber.

    Dude, I appreciate your detailed analysis and love for Jon Bellion on this one! Also you are right, Human Condition is definitely a life changing album! Just like you I got inspired to get into producing because of Jon Bellion. I got into Jon Bellion back in 2016 exactly when Human Condition dropped and around that time my first gf ever, my first love, broke up with me. Just like Jon, I was thinking that I was destined to be with this girl and unfortunately it didn’t work out at that time. The lyrics of Human Condition and The Definition were so relatable and those albums literally became my therapy in those hard emotional times... In these two years I have grown, I know lot more than I was used to due to my heartbreak, but you know what is incredible? Me and my ex got back together just after the release of GSP... It is truly incredible and I’m so grateful to God that we are back together. Hopefully we are really meant to be together. The power of Jon Bellion ❤️

    The way I heard about the song Beyonce didn't get is... Jon, sent out a song to multiple artists, Christina and Demi wanted it first and so he gave it to them, then later Beyonce requested the song for an artist she signed but Jon unfortunately already gave it away. Just a bummer situation.

    i see a lot of people complaining that there is a lack of theme like on the human condition
    1. it’s a separate project, he might not have wanted to repeat the last
    2.the theme is in the production. he’s Bringing music of the future to genres of the present and past. nexf time you listen, search for the genre he’s using at the core of each song and then find future sounds he is “teaching or learning” for music of the future at Glory Sound Prep. i personally wish it had a lyrical theme to go along with the musical one but i’m a diehard fan who’s gone over the album line by line and haven’t found one. the only theme i’ve found is in the music itself

    • @DougAraujo
      @DougAraujo  6 років тому +2

      There’s definitely a theme lyrically about the dangers of fame on lots of the tracks on here. The need for family, time away, and lack of a major spotlight always shining on you too

    • @mcnizzzle3961
      @mcnizzzle3961 6 років тому +1

    • @cmatathia
      @cmatathia 6 років тому +2

      @Doug Araujo that's a really good practice; one thing i normally dislike about reaction videos for tracks is that the lyrical value of a song is normally not given the attention it most definitely deserves! I really respect that you're covering all the bases to give a quality hot take on this stuff! thank you

  • @TaylorSmith-ii7ly
    @TaylorSmith-ii7ly 6 років тому

    I totally appreciate your comments. Well thought out, and musically charged! Thank you! However, I would disagree with some of the things you say near minute 11 of the video. Jon’s production quality and ability to creat aesthetically pleasing and unique beats is unmatched but his lyrics are. If you compare him to the great producers and artists who craft their music, I truly believe Jon is in his own league. But as a rapper and lyricist, compare him to the greats; 2Pac, Kendrick, etc... he doesn’t touch their league in that respect. While his music might be more advanced and well produced, idk about flow and lyricism. Thoughts?

    • @TaylorSmith-ii7ly
      @TaylorSmith-ii7ly 6 років тому

      Not that it was bad haha. Lyrics are still really good! They just definitely is better out there in that respect

    • @TaylorSmith-ii7ly
      @TaylorSmith-ii7ly 6 років тому

      In my opinion, of course

    • @DougAraujo
      @DougAraujo  6 років тому

      What i like about Jon’s verses are how well delivered they always are, from the way he speaks, to the clever punchlines, the witty allusions to pop culture, the alliteration, i wouldn’t say he’s unmatched but i also wouldn’t say he’s out of his league when it comes to rapping alongside someone like J. Cole for example. Still though, i see where you’re coming from!

    • @TaylorSmith-ii7ly
      @TaylorSmith-ii7ly 6 років тому +1

      @@DougAraujo I dig his lyrics, don't get me wrong! His ability to create intricate beats and produce unique sounds, is truly unparalleled. But I would say his lyrics are his weak point. Again, not that they're bad, but they just don't compare to his production or vocal abilities.

      Doug Araujo this album is bland. Jon Bellion’s fanbase puts him on a pedestal and thinks he’s a genius with nothing to back it up. just because he does everything himself doesn’t mean it’s done well.

    • @DougAraujo
      @DougAraujo  6 років тому

      No one made the argument that it’s done well just because he does everything himself, and that’s most likely due to the fact the he DOESN’T do everything himself. Ppl call him a genius because they feel he HAS backed it up. It’s cool that you feel the album’s bland bruh, but not everyone thinks like you, and the majority of the ppl that i’ve seen in the comments really enjoyed it

    As a first time listener, I wasn’t too impressed with the album. It got tedious at points, and some songs dragged on, and this was worsened by the repetition and lack of verses on many tracks. Id give it a 7.7/10.
