Awesome video. I’ve repaired 5 alpine mrv-1507s. Got them for great prices due to not working. Paid anywhere from 45-120. The old Alpine was awesome stuff. Their amps and decks were great. Their old type R and X were great too.
I won’t touch their new JUNK. It’s planned obsolescence. I bought a few non working mrv-500s. I fixed one, op amp was bad. The other 2 are donor boards now. Alpine in their grand wisdom and bad ideas decided to make custom IC for the power supply and for gate drivers on the outputs. The 2 I couldn’t fix, had holes blown in the gate driver IC. It’s trash due to a $2 part. How stupid.
Because of their decision to do this and they changed the pinout so it doesn’t match any commercial components available, I am completely done with alpine. Will NEVER buy any equipment newer than 2002 and newer. Complete landfill material.
Keep the awesome repair videos going. Wish more people got into this line of work.

Great you doing all that effort, it does not worth nowadays, only for challenge yourself but also you take care of the planet , coming this back to life only for collectors and nostalgic guys as me, instead continuosly buying new stuff.

There are a group of people who are into old-school audio and builds, plus die-hard fans. But yes, it is niche and it is why I chose to leave the profession and only do it as a hobby/side-gig.
