Quick correction. Ippei Mizuhara said he graduated from UC Riverside not UC Irvine.

Thank you.👍 Japanese media just reported that the bank account is a separate account for his charity endeavor. Ohtani put Ippei in charge,
Ohtani has been subjected to media harassment every day.
Once he is clearly found not guilty, they need to apologize.

Ippei is a known liar and a gambling addict. Ippei may have stolen the money

I like your point about allowing a guy making $300K to rack up a $4.5 million debt. I do think it would raise serious alarms if Bowyer was a legal bookie in a place like Nevada. When it comes down to it, you can't bet on credit at all in California, Bowyer was well aware of that, and I don't think he was too worried about Ippei because of his known connection to Ohtani. I wouldn't be surprised if Ippei told him he had access to all of Ohtani's account and that mitigated the risk in Bowyer's mind. At first I really believed the first story of a friend paying off a debt for another friend. Now I actually am leaning more toward it being an issue of theft.
