Biggest thing I noticed in the 1st Quarters was MJ felt the game out. He did majority of his damage in 2nd and 4th. 1st was a “let me see who’s on today” quarter and 3rd was trying to keep game close for 4th where he’d take over.

    • @orinocoPL
      @orinocoPL 2 місяці тому +16

So, 1st quarter was "battle reconnaissance" pretty much.

I always felt like his spent the 1st half trying to get his team going offensively and a little passive and as the game got closer to the end of the game he took over and close it out. All he really needed was some trust in his teammates that they could rise up to the challenge and once they where able to they collectively took off.

The biggest reason Chicago made it past the first round had nothing to do with the presence or absence of Pippen; rather, it was because Jordan turned in one of the best performances of any MVP in history, leading the team to a third-place finish in the East, and finally avoiding Boston in the first round. And in the playoffs, he had a ridiculous run also, averaging 45 points on 56% shooting, just enough to get his team to the second round.
If we were to apply the same 'with out Pippen blah blah' logic to LeBron, we could say that he didn't even make the playoffs until Larry Hughes joined the team. At least 0506 Larry Hughes was better than rookie Pippen, so it might not that a far-fetched claim.😂

More like Lebron couldn't win it until DWade was with it. I agree with Pippen helping Jordan in that Jordan never had to guard the opposing teams best player and even with Rodman you had guys that allowed Jordan to focus on what he does best. Now if MJ competitiveness kicked in, who was going to tell him no. Secondly Pippen made it to the ECF without MJ it would have been interesting to see MJ do the same for a season.

Also, those long mid-range shots then, felt like the 3 pointers of today. Just something I noticed as those shots felt way back in terms of distance. (Not sure if I’m making sense 😂). 35:10 Quick-decision Jordan was a killer. We’ve seen the clips of him knowing where the double was coming from and making a quick one-dribble move in the other direction into a 50% fadeaway or baseline move. Especially against KJ and your Suns in ‘93. Double-teams could no longer make a difference. Only the dirty-ass Pistons could stop MJ once 1988 came around.

Jordan had so many parallels to Muhammad Ali. His retirement has an analog in Ali’s ban after protesting the Vietnam war. Ali reached the top again, and so did Jordan. Ali had some bad losses at the end, same with Jordan’s futile years with the Wizards trying to lift the moribund franchise of which he was part owner. Each of their wills is unmatched, unless of course we include Tiger. Each is the undisputed GOAT to me of their respective enterprises, and delighted us who were fortunate enough to see it.

In the two title years, the Pistons were 30-7 with 5 of their losses to the Bulls. The Bulls were the only team giving them any trouble during their back to back title years. Probably the only other player that comes to mind as being the best at both offense and defense at the same time was Hakeem in '94 and '95, but even that was close to defensive giants such as Dikembe and Robinson. Other players I'd say were close are Kobe, West and Wilt. Potentially Wemby in the future, we'll see. But since I root for Luka, I don't know if I want to see that 🙂.
Maybe we could reduce that to positions or at least guards, forwards and centers separately. Because then you really see players such as Jordan, Hakeem, Kobe etc. shine.

    Next part "the shot" !
Jordan hitted it over Ehlo, but Ehlo hitted 8 of the 10 last Cavs points with 2 3's and a layup without a miss. He was this night the clutch guy for the Cavs and that's what made MJ's shoot even greater !
89' Cavs and Pistons again + Knicks : another hard challenges for MJ. Legend series !
MJ's first attempts to win playoffs series and getting further year after year are nearly as entertaining as his defending titles series.
About 88' Pistons : It was clear that their offense was divided in two ways : system A team play whithou giving the ball to Dantley, system B, give the ball to Dantley on one wing and every one move to the other, breathe and wait. The two sides were fun to whatch alternatively but it seems there were something wrong in the team alchemy. With the trade beetween Dantley and Aguirre, the Piston's offense became more blended. I know you don't like BB Pistons, but what do you think about that ? Was Dantley an obstacle for championships or 89' Piston's win was only a combination of circumstances (#Lakers multiple injuries) ?

At around the 40:44 mark when Zeke said how they double teamed Jordan every time he had the ball.......what's funny about that is there are tons of modern fans that swear double teams were considered illegal defense back then no matter how many times they're told they're wrong with proof to back it up

So, by Nick Wrong's logic, LeBron James was a "total and complete loser" until he got to Miami. A "total and complete" loser until he got Bosh and Wade. Wow, how could anyone possibly think LeBron is the GOAT? Here's how, by ignoring history, ignoring stats, ignoring their own eyesight, coming up with stupid takes, and then shooting their mouths off in front of a camera (or being on the LeBron Media payroll).
LeBron has never won squat without ESTABLISHED stars on his team (See Bosh, Wade, Love, AD). And even WITH Bosh and Wade and Love, he lost in the Finals. MJ turned guys INTO stars (See Pippen, Ho Grant). Never considered Rodman or Harper stars, but if that's what LeBron fans want to say, that's fine. MJ had already won 3 straight titles and lost none before Rodman and Harper ever got to Chicago.

Dont forget Kevin Love. Lebron was never good enough to build a team around and have him the leader of the team. He had to go to a team that already had established stars. Then wouldnt come back to Cleveland until Kyrie had arrived and even then they went out and signed Kevin Love. Lebron is scared. Hes always played scared. He wont go to a team unless if they dont win, it wont be solely on him. Michael Jordan was the exact opposite. He was a stone cold killer who wouldnt play with other superstars just because of the fact that he wanted to beat them

Don't you think it would benefit you and your channel to know first hand and do the work yourself more than relying on someone elses work and opinion? I love the channel, but you can't go on about being like Jordan when sick yet try to avoid putting in time and effort.
