Love the kitty. I had to buy new pieces to do my project because my kitty took them to play with. Of course she did not bring them back. Always buy extras for the pets. Thanks for the info.
I had problems with the pipe slipping out of the seal rings. First slip the pipe into place to see where the ring should be, then use superglue inside the ring and slip into place. The glue drys in 15 seconds so you have to be quick. Let it dry and then tighten the connection. I wrapped the threads with teflon and my connections stay connected.
I have a small ranch 1950 house. It’s septic, but I think the gray water is not hooked up to septic. How do I know if it’s been vented correctly? I think the double sink was put in later. The pvc pipe goes down into the crawl space.
My new double sink does not align on one side of the old drain; also the wall pipe is 3" left of the left drain so the old hookup had the P trap filling the gap. Think I have to replace the whole assembly, pvc, mostly glued. Sound right?

I think the double sink was put in later. The pvc pipe goes down into the crawl space. I removed a garbage disposal - rarely used. Constant plugging problems. Also, I just installed two new strainers. One leaks. It’s a Kraus; foam gasket on top on ceramic sink, rubber gasket underneath sink. The left one seems ok. I removed the foam gasket and tried plumbers putty. That didn’t work.
@@chriscraft2 Now i wish i would have seen your video before I installed my father-im-law's stainless kitchen sink last week. I would have saved a couple of bucks on the putty, lol. Very good vid, thanks!
Plummer's putty is always used on the bottom of the top drain fitting. Sinks fittings and bath tub drains. It's a second defense for controlling that you have no leaks.
Now, I love this video, my problem is that I have a double sink that doesn't have the drain going directly down into the basement. The pipe goes off to the left & goes through another cabinet & then into a pipe that's on the wall of the other cabinet! How my home inspector didn't catch this is a mystery to me.
@@chriscraft2 I have leaking issues, send me an email address & I'll take a picture & show you. I don't know how my home inspector missed this plumbing issue.
Sorry but this would fail in NJ, NY, Conn, and I believe PA. Not to get too deep but basically if you put a snake down one sink it would go right up the other. Yes I would clean the trap out 1st. One sink should have a sweep 90 and under it a dwv tee.
What's the purple product you're applying to the PVC? Also, what other type of sealer do you apply to the threads? I'm going to be replacing kitchen pipe very soon exactly like you're doing here.
Chris, thank you for a well-thought out video. Question: The T fitting you installed - it would have been so nice if you had let the camera look straight through the T fitting, to see whether it has a clear, unobstructed passage in all directions, or if there is some sort of deflection baffle. I'm baffled by the baffle in a T fitting I want to replace. The baffle is a violation of a fundamental rule of plumbing; drain lines should only get bigger as they go downstream, never smaller. The baffle is excellent for creating clogs. I'm having trouble finding a Tee fitting that doesn't have a baffle. Does one exist? Thanks!
@@chriscraft2 Interesting. Learned something-“...if not it would fill the other side up when draining a full sink...” Thanks for your close-ups and explanations. Good job.
That's pretty nice... I still prefer the look and durability of SCH 40. Once that stuff is welded, light rough-housing with dish soap bottles and such, it won't leak. I have had bad luck with those poly systems, they are kinda feeble, great for setup but lame on the toughness scale. After you see a properly assembled SCH 40 apparatus you'll scoff at that other stuff and the price delta is insignificant. I mean really, show some backbone and figure it out.
Those kits can suck it, Even the trap kits they didn't fit what they were supposed too, So i gotta rebuild the whole thing now. Fk those kits lol & that skinny pipe that just sits in a fake compression nut.
Ty so much for the video...I absolutely knew nothing about plumbing , but thanks to your video..I fixed mine
LIKED for the adorable kitten...and also for the content, thanks ;)
Great video…..I just had a new counters installed with a countertop and double sink and you answered all my questions….thank you
Good thing the supervisor is under the sink checking up ur work

Why didn’t you put plumbers putty under the flanges of the sink strainers?
Great job explaining. Thanks!
Excellent Chris!! Thank you for sharing !! All the video's looking for center drain line install!!
Technical expertise is greatly appreciated but could not stop laughing at the kick the cat comment. 😅
I stepped on that kittens grandpa when it was a month and a half old because it ran under the back of my boot and it almost died .. I felt so bad
Great video. Thank you

Hey Chris, why no plumber's putty for the sink drains? Btw, Marshmallow is awesome. Cuteness overload!
I used to use putty on the drains but there really is no need on a stainless sink.

@@juanjohnism Thanks for that info!
should I use plumbers tape on PVC
@chris craft 2 was an awesome video, Thank You!!! Shouts to Marshmallow! I have a Marshie too but she's a fatty 🤙
Thanks Chris, I am wondering if those pipes come with kit are too small for kitchen plumbing? Cuz the PVC has bigger inner diameter.
That tee above the p-trap, does it need to be higher than the pipe going into the wall?
it should be.. it will just all hold water and possibly leak.. and more likely to clog up

What if it’s coming out the floor? Need help
Glue … clear cement??? Is there a specific name ???

you can’t snake a kitchen drain.. you are just making stuff up.. you don’t know anything
@@chriscraft2 Irishmike is correct. And you can too snake a kitchen sink…but not yours.
You should have installed a wye horizontally and two p-traps.
I'm curious > you didn't use a P trap, I was led to believe they were necessary, could you please explain? TY!
it has a p trap.. you have to have one

pvc primer is the purple stuff.. you don’t use anything on the threads they are compression fittings

they all have a baffle if not it would fill the other side up when draining a full sink.. just cut it out if it bothers you...

I notice using no drain putty , must be ok then ,.
I use it where you are supposed to.. you don’t need putty on a drain..

no one plumbs this in sch 40 .. that would be retarded, literally.. it easily comes apart for blockages and maintenance.. stop making up stuff
