I got mine a week ago, and it looks fantastic. I can't wait for eduard upgrades such as a mask set and seatbelts. The only thing, though, is the lack of rivets, which for us older folk whose hands dont work so well would be problematic, especially on a kit with such compound curves.
I never have seen the full aircraft but saw the nose of the marauder and was amazed at just how small the cockpit was.It was on display at the Smithsonian at DC next to an ME109. That is a tiny fighter. All I can say about the zero is it is obvious as they say in the aircraft building industry that the built in lightness. There in little to the fuselage. It has exactly what it needs to maintain its shape and to hold to flight stresses and nothing else. My favorite aircraft on display is the HE219 that was fully renovated. Absolutely stunning. It deserves to be fully assembled. Last I saw it sat with the wings on racks and the fuselage on a display. This bird deserves its own display circle so it could be appreciated from 360 degrees. I have the Revell 1.32 kit but have not yet started it. I'm looking forward to it and the wild night camouflage. I love German camo patterns.
Oooohs and an Aaaah, that looks very nice Brett. Are you thinking a bit of P.E. especially for engine bits or are you going "box only"? Either way, that looks like it's going to be a lovely model. Regards, Ian...
I'll definitely add details to the engines, but really all thats needed are the ignition wires. As for any other details, I'll have to do some research on the interior to see if there is room for improvement.

@@HammerheadModelMaking poor engineering results in poor fit. Decals low quality. Detail on parts poor. Instructions poor in many places lacking part placement. Bomb detail poor. No seatbelts. Price is way too high for a very subpar kit. I will not ever bother with this company in the future.
@@davesplasticmodelreviewsan8033 Would you say the old Monogram kit is still the better of the two? My previous ICM kits have been a pleasure to build and couldn't find much fault with them. I'm still looking forward to getting this one on the bench as I enjoy the Marauder quite a bit.
@@HammerheadModelMaking I’m just saying ICM is being misrepresented as a quality company. They are not and should not be bought at its high price. I’m sore at the vendors for fluffing this up.
@@davesplasticmodelreviewsan8033 I definitely wouldn't place the up there with the likes of Tamiya, Eduard, Meng, and such, but I've noticed a positive trend in the kits they are releasing. Both in subject and overall quality of the kit. But, I totally get the their kits aren't cheap and not everyone will find the value in their kits. To each their own. I have no stake in the company so I just present the review and my opinion, but the subjects they have been releasing are of interest to me in scales that I enjoy. So, to me I find value in that. but like you, others are more than welcome to determine if the value is worth it to them or not.

I have a couple of ICM kits. They are both BF 109F-2 kits. They aren’t super detailed, but are nice kits.
Yeah, I have a few of their older spitfires and they are mediocre, but this is definitely a huge step up from those.
