You all should take those last few words to heart. The whole point of creating is to allow your mind and spirit to be free. The things that you make don’t have to be incredibly meaningful or relevant to matter, what matters is that it came from an honest place without anything else in mind

It's been so amazing to watch Jacob grow and become even more stegosaurusly amazing (to use a Jacobean word Jacob would never use about himself). And at the same time, to watch the world discover Jacob's magic. He is the only musician whose music can literally bring up strong emotions simply by listening. I'm glad he is getting the visibility he deserves. Not only is he an incredible musician, he is a truly wonderful, kind, humble and thoughtful human being.

I recognize Jacob's absolute brilliance and virtuosity. But I must say, I'm not crazy about using R&B, pop, and soul music as a vehicle for this type of arranging and composition. I feel like his concepts and harmonic tools would be better applied in a large orchestra or even brass band. I guess i'm thinking it would work well with instrumental modern classical music, film score music, ambient music, etc. I rarely say this, but maybe if you take the funky groove out of the equation, these concepts would appeal to me more. Maybe that's being a little nitpicky. I'm not saying pop and r&b music should be dumbed down. Look at Stevie Wonder...his music is extremely harmonically sophisticated. I'd love to hear his concepts applied in a different way...in other words, I like to hear jacob arrange some classical music or something.
