    This is exactly how these videos should be made. Thank you for providing all the necessary information along with every steps. All these other people failing to do so makes it a waste of time to watch them. Thank you, your talent is reflected on the final look of the model, keep doing it!

    Nice nice paint job. I had the old kit from 20 years ago, I added a metal bolt under the seating area so when you put it in flight mode it actually rotates.

    Beautiful work, truly. It was a real pleasure to watch this video. If you don't mind me asking, when it comes to the detailing of the cockpit, how would you compare the Revell kit and the Bandai kit?

    • @HobbyModeller
      @HobbyModeller  3 роки тому +6

      Thank you for the praise. The details of the revell kit are... OK. Not outstanding, but reasonable for the price. Bandai's Slave 1 is only half the size, but I find it much more detailed. The cockpit has 3-4 times as many parts as Revell's, and is therefore much more realistic and closer to the original.

    Great build! I'm building the Bandai Slave 1 but using your color pallet as reference because it looks so great! I had a question about what the purple substance you're using at around 10:19 in the video. Thanks!

    • @HobbyModeller
      @HobbyModeller  2 роки тому +1

      Hi. Thank you for the praise 😄. The purple substance is the same as the green substance, a masking fluid. The purple is „Humbrol Maskol“ and the Green is the „Vallejo Liquid Mask“. Humbrol's masking fluid is slightly thicker and Vallejo's is slightly more thinner. That's why I used the green Vallejo for the big areas and the purple Humbrol for the details. I hope that I could help you with this, and good luck with your model 👍.

    Just building the same stuff for my son fully following your video, first of all thank you for your work. What did you use to remove the wash ?

    • @HobbyModeller
      @HobbyModeller  2 роки тому +1

      Hi. Thank you very much for the compliment 😄. I use an oil wash for my models. This can be applied thickly to the entire model, or only to specific areas and panel lines. After 2-3 hours of drying, I remove the oil wash with a dry paper towel and cotton swab. No thinner. I wish you every success in building the model for your son 👍

    • @viktorposta433
      @viktorposta433 2 роки тому

      @@HobbyModeller Oh wow, this is the first time I'm using panel lining and somehow I always skipped that 2 sec when you are showing the panel liner type :) I'll look for that AK since the Tamiya one I have is too precise as per my tests it's not making the surface dirty enough and also need to be careful what to use when removing. Cheers mate. Thank you.

      @@viktorposta433 You're welcome. Yes, tamiya is only there for the panel lines. To get the whole model dirty, an oil wash is better.

    Awesome work on this ship! I wanted to ask about your “chipping” process… you mentioned in your video that you used water…. Did you do this when the paint was wet or dry? Also, did you use any paint thinner for the chipping process as well??? I will be working on a Bobba’s ship in a few weeks. Your video inspired me to do one :)

    • @HobbyModeller
      @HobbyModeller  2 роки тому +2

      Hi. Many thanks for the great compliment😄. I dilute the chipping fluid with a lot of water. I also mixed it with thinner once, but it wasn't as good as water. I then mixed the paint with the recommended thinner. Let the paint dry and wet it with water. Just pure water, no thinners. Then you can start chipping. It is best to start with a toothpick and then do the rest with a paint brush and paper towel. I hope I was able to help you and wish you the best of luck with your model 👍
