Well well welly welly well! You've finally done it, RafScrap - you went and made a cover of a song I ACTUALLY KNEW ABOUT IN ADVANCE! (Thank you, Chicago OST!) Also, holy crepe, your sense of self-awareness is amazing with all the "mommy" comments at the start. (Thank cod that's not my style; I would legit die of embarrassment, joyful tears, and/or maniacal laughter if people as great as the Scrapcats gave me a shout-out in their work.) Further credit to Net Neutrality for that excellent intro, and a very *happy birthday* to our sweet Lacey!
Now, I heard the Queen Latifah version when I was but a young lad (and I never actually watched "Chicago", not gonna lie), so I may not have caught the sexual undertones in the original song, but having RafScrap covering the song sure turns that up to eleven and then some! It's good to see you've embraced the role, because otherwise this would do precisely NOTHING to deter the, er......simping. I mean, the voice would do it alone, but the art...okay, not to sound creepy, but I'm really starting to think that my ideal aesthetic for a girlfriend is literally just your look in these recent videos. (Maybe minus the whip; I don't do pain.) Also, that Coat Cape is amazing even by your celestial standards of fashion, and the visuals are a perfect fit for the song on top of being a great shout-out to the source material.
Unfortunately, I DO have to once again point out a tiny error in the lyrics, at about 1:59 this time: I don't know exactly which dish the lyrics are referring to, but I'm pretty sure it's not spelled "ragoo". I think it's either "Ragout" or "Ragu" (with a weird accent squiggle thing over the u). As usual, of course, this does nothing to impede the quality of the cover, and the lyrics themselves are nice and visible (if uncomfortably close to your incredibly tight pants - no no no no no, focus on the eyebrows, focus on the eyebrows, FOCUS ON THE EYEBROWS-), so that's a big plus.
And of course, I'd be remiss for not mentioning the absolute, hilarious incongruity of the intro with the rest of the presentation. If there's a better way to call out people calling you "Momma" over the internet, I'd love to see it...then again, I can't blame them for wanting you as a mother. You're pretty cool even discounting your boundless artistic talents!
