Great Review. I saw on the fuel cap where it list premium as recommended and not required. This fuel economy was not bad at all.
Does regular fuel give you less mpg compared to premium gas in this vehicle

I have a 2022 RDX SH-AWD with the Technology package. The car is rated at 27 mpg highway. I don’t know what highway speed they use when rating these vehicles, but my RDX struggles to reach 23mpg on steady 70 mph driving on relatively flat roads. In comparison, the 2019 BMW X4 I had before the RDX with the same 2 liter turbo 4 cylinder AWD was rated at 29 mpg highway, and would routinely deliver 32 mpg. Both cars using Premium fuel. It’s ridiculous that Honda… an economy car company, can’t even get the EPA rating, and gets 9 mpg worse than a BMW in the same class!
Same dude. I just got a RDX, I literally thought there is something wrong with my car before I started to do some research.
The new RDX looks stunning in the pearl red color. Too bad the A-Spec package in the US doesn’t get the power-folding mirrors and the rain-sensing wipers like the Canadian models do🙁
enough of the folding mirrors already. They never had it and they probably won't. Just push the mirrors in already.

Great informative video. Considering buying the RDX(not the A Spec). Noticed you put in regular Gas. Shouldn't you be only putting premium gas in it ?
I had this car, winter almost 13.5 l per 100 km. Summer lowest I got was 11l per 100 km. And I was mainly driving in hwy and was always easy on it.
My new RDX is always around 14L/100km, doesn’t matter how slow I drive. How did you get below 10L/100km???

Means don’t give gas all the time

Hi Jat, this test was with regular gasoline.
I can tell you about this question, usually, if you use premium, you can drive around 40km more than regular gasoline. of course based on drive condition and fuel capacity maybe a little bit different. however, the premium is around 20 bucks more expensive than regular each 100L( I'm in Canada, I don't know what about price difference in us). so combined everything, regular gas is cheaper. I have drive 3000km with regular gas and another 3000km with premium. no big difference for me. I did not feel huge power difference between premium and regular, just a little bit!! I think the only problem is engine carbon. if you wanna keep this car, use premium. if you lease this car, regular is fine for you.
If I'm not mistaken you put in regular fuel. I was under the impression that the RDX used premium?

Wow In the US, where I live the gas price is $1.98 per gal / 3.78 = $0.52 per liter.
Consumer Reports got 15 mpg city and 30 mpg highway for an average of 22 mpg.
Is this the A-Spec model? because the US model A-Spec did not have auto rain sensing wipers and this one does..
Geez... The Gas price in Canada compared to US... And to think we produce oil in Canada... Man, just not fare... And our salary is less in most cases :(

Sorry, but I dont think you can find premium gas for $2.50 per gal anywhere in Detroit, including Costco....so the Acura RDX would cost more to operate
We filled in regular gasoline, not premium.

I just looked at your video,and math. In Canada do we not normally refer to mileage in L/100 kms? 54.4L / 541.8 Kms or 5.418 # of 100 kms =. 10.040 L/100 kms or 28.13 mpg

I traded my 2016 V6 for a 2020 RDX 4 cylinder, so far the 2016 got MUCH better mileage. I certainly hope it improves, there is a substantial difference.

Exactly RECOMMEND and REQUIRED are two different things. So relax and gulp that regular fuel.
Modern direct inject motors can be plagued by carbon build up. Would he an expensive thing to deal with vs the 5-8 dollars on a fill up.
