What seems to work is if autopilot shows (ALT) on & lit up. Click to disarm altitide hold mode. Now you can use up & down toghle switch under GPS unit and plane will climb or desend based on pressung toggle switch up or roen respectively. Once you reach yarhet altitide press (Alt) button to hold nee altitude etc. Thanks 4 video, expalined a few other things
I stumbled across your channel a couple days ago and watched a number of your "first look" reviews, where I came across this autopilot tutorial for the Bonanza... which coincidentally, I had only purchased a day or two before that! Have to admit that the autopilot had me scratching my head trying to figure it out! Also great tips for some basic nav settings as well. Cheers and subscribed
When you are in GPS mode, the line on the CDI represents the magenta line, which is obviously between two fixed points, so it doesn't make any sense to change it with the course knob. It is a fixed line in space. It still works though and will move as you get on course.
Yes - but if you look at the HSI in a G1000, for example - it simulates the symbology in GPS similarly than it does in VOR mode - so if you change the course, the CDI moves (or at least that's what I seem to recall - I'll have to go check now lol)
@@jonbeckett I just played around with the V35 and the G36 (with G1000) some more and they work as expected for me. In the G1000, it works the same way, the only difference being that you can't turn the course know when it is in GPS mode, only when in VLOC. In the V35, you can turn the course know in both.
Great video. That HSI gauge instruction was interesting. As for the autopilot, I was familiar on how it works form other older planes. Interesting that the up an down button is not modeled in the plane. Here's where the PMS5 GTN750 Premium is worth the cost. I purchased the lifetime version. It now has an autopilot feature and works with most of the planes except airliners. I don't have to play with the knobs inside the plane. I use the touch panel with my mouse inside the GTN 750 software. I leave the pulldown GTN750 on my second monitor. Its so much easier to use. I does not add any features that the current plane's autopilot has. Also, you can set your heading and course by typing in the number. Much, much easier to use than the knobs. To me, this makes this addon worth it's price.
Heh - I always tend to think it's more fun to make do with whatever the plane has though - it adds to the (difficult) experience in a strange sort of way.
I find that the sudden jolt everytime I arm the altitude is annoying.....now I just use the VS first toward the altitude I wish to fly, adjust power settings accordingly, once its stabilized at 500fpm climbing/descending, then, I arm my target altitude, and then the plane won't make such a sudden jolt as its already climbing/descending at 500fpm
In the old instruction book for this AP unit, they do note that they recommend you get within 500 ft of your desired VS speed before engaging it, to minimize the sudden jolt. So it seems like that's just true to life for what you get with this AP tech from the old days.
Can I ask what map that is you are using...and where I can get it? Great tutorial on this AP system, you have given me motivation to get the plane. Thanks
I'm not sure if it's just my set up or if this works in general - if I click and hold down the left mouse over the bug and move the mouse sideway the bug moves quickly and I get an actual indication of the course set.
Thanks for this tutorial. Just what I was looking for. I for some reason cannot successfully engage VS mode. When I click the engage VS mode I do get the VS indicated, but cannot push/pull/click that selector knob to set a VS speed. So at this time my only option is to set an altitude, arm it and live with the 500ft per minute. Not a deal breaker but it would be nice if it works as you demonstrate it here. If you have any suggestions that would be great, but either way this is the most helpful tutorial on this topic that I have found.
That is strange. Did you toggle between alt and vs mode? I wonder... do you have the MSFS interface in "legacy" mode? If you have it in the xbox mode, your experience might be different.
@@HoriaArabul I did figure it out, but it's been quite a while since I have flown that plane. I'll see if I can load it up to fly and if I remember how I did it, I'll let you know
When you select height and arm the altitude on the autopilot there´s a light indicating "ARM". In my V35 the light won´t go on and it´s a hassle to make it work properly. In other tutorials there´s also the arm light. I tried de-installation and re-downloading the plane from the marketplace but it will not change. How can I fix that?? Reply

Thanks, just bought this in the sale. Saved me figuring out how the autopilot works 😊

Great little plan, isn't it. Love it ! Thx for explaining how vertical speed mode works, saved me a lot of time.
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful, didn’t even realise you could pull the switch as my Bravo throttle quadrant seems to be working about right. Will have a play tonight 👍
Great to hear!
Really helpful video, thank you. Looking forward to buying the V35 for my xbox-s later today.
Glad I could help
Thank you for this video. The VS mode has been a huge mystery to me. Excellent job explaining it! 😁
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent. Thank you 😊
Thank you
You're welcome
i have a problem finding the location of the hand brake i am new to this so your help would be great Plus im in my 80s many thanks

It's called "LittleNavMap" - it's free - just google it.
Thanks...I will.
Great video, thanks. Could you possibly provide a download link for the instructions you got as well?
There is a real-world pilot operator handbook here - www.manualslib.com/manual/1623567/Beech-Beechcraft-Bonanza-V35.html

Some aircraft support that method - some don't :)

The altitude pre-selector is broken in ALL of the carenado aircraft. The recent sim updates caused it.
This feature is currently broken. AP won’t arm no matter what you do. Unfortunate since I was really excited for this plane.
Yep - the altitude arming is broken at the moment - I'm sure they will fix it soon.
You stated that a friend sent you some documentation for the aircraft. Can you provide that or a link for it?
I will ask - given that he paid for the documentation, it might be a bit cheeky if I then gave somebody else the same document :)
Is the arm indicator still broken?
No idea.
Have you found a way to move yoke to copilot side on v35 Beech?
Not tried
Would you mind providing the document you used?
It was a scribbled piece of paper :)
