I personally think its better if you can start at whatever team you want. If you want a challenge you can start at a lower team but if you dont you dont have to. Its better if the player can make the choice.
Why not have both options? You paid for the game, you should be able to start with whatever team you like. However if you'd like to go through the trials and tribulations of career mode you can do it as well.

the audio on this game is broken. that's why if you move up 10 places in one lap, the commentator (james allen) says you moved up 8 places. 8 is the max number of places they've put into the audio to be made up. 5 laps is the max number they will say i think. loving the series tho ben, good luck ;)
I really hope they make the new F1 game like this. that you have to make good results. and the same that you can be a test driver. and jump in in like the middle of the seasong. they have to make the new game like this. and with realistic damage.
I found these episodes while watching a co-op vod and am somehow now binging them 😅 Sometimes as much as we bash F1 22 for being the game it is, when you look back to older games, it feels like a good game. I think it's just that the cons outweigh the pros with all the copy-paste and bugs that have been seen. There's some things it really got right for sure, the handling model seems to be relatively realistic, especially if you compare it to older games like F1 2006 in this video. But I also think they could take a leaf out of the older F1 games as well. Actual tangible rear wing damage and oil splotches on the track are probably the most noticeable. Some things are strikingly similar though, mainly the AI being super op on the straights. I could go on but this comment is already long enough and on a vid from 6 years ago :)P
Driving on hard difficulty huh? Very brave. But you're doing well. The times you're putting in are awesome! It's a shame you just missed out on driving the Hungarian GP. It's one of the best chances to win a race with a lesser car. China should be doable as well. Monza and Suzuka pretty much impossible (to get poll anyway). Great series Ben!!
In hard difficulty winning races in non-winning cars is not totally realistic for all races, points are always achievable. You cant switch tire compounds mid race and avoid going over the outer edge of curbs, that's why you spun/crashed.

For those who don't know terms like midfield, here are some examples in wich the current f1 teams are used. Mercedes: OP Red Bull: little bit back Ferrari: (angry screaming) THE FUCK IS THIS!! Williams: around the 5th spot Force India: low budget, good results McLaren: not so GP2 anymore Torro Rosso: around the 7th spot(Sainz) Haas: give them a break they're new(still doing a good job to be honest) Renault: They suck! Sauber: it's just sad Manor: so far back they're beyond Pluto
i kept getting crashed out and somehow landed the ferrari seat for S3... dominated R1 and 2... then the swiping returned from the AI (they're merciless!) and i got dropped to test driver where i then left to race for red bull
I won my first season on medium difficulty, Torro Rosso and then Toyota. Now in Ferrari I'm bolting away from everyone, 2 seconds a lap or more. Shame, there's really no goal now. Hard is the only way to go, and I'm not even remotely good in racing games.
oh man ben ich könnte dir so viel über das spiel erzählen da ich selbst habe und auch gerade spiele aber mein englisch ist ein dissaster deutsch ist ja für mich schon ne kunst alleine das du kein lenkrad kontroller hast bist du klar im nachteil ! wenn du den front und heckfügeln niedrieger stellst die federn und aufhängung weicher machst die bremsen auf 50:50 stellst und an der gearbox für die strecke anpasst kannst du mit jedem f1 auto die wm gewinnen nicht auf jeder strecke kannst du gewinnen aber wm ist drin ! falls du das jemals verstehen wirst was ich schreibe: stelle den frontflügel mit noch weniger wiederstand als der heckflügel weil dadurch das heck nicht ausbricht und dein auto nicht in der wand landet du kannst es auch anders machen damit du besser in die kurven kannst aber dann reskiert man das übersteuern wieder je mehr antrieb du hast desto besser das handling also bei strecken mit schnellen kurven und weniger speed ist das hervoragend bei strecken die viele lange geraden haben ejer anders rum aber je weniger antrieb desto mehr übersteuern reskierst du wenn du es schaffst bei toyota stammfahrer zu werden ab da und nach oben auf hast du gute chancen zu gewinnen und zwar jedes rennen !könnte noch mehr schreiben über dieses game das setup ist auf jedenfall besser realistischer als bei codemastes +tiametmarduk

Super Aguri will ALWAYS give you a drive every season as far as you get into Season 1, so don't worry about not having a drive.

What I find it interesting though is the championship battle between Massa, Alonso and possibly Schumacher and Montoya.
Tiamendurk, at least in the PSP version, if you reached the end of S1 doing the inverse lap, the lap would start there.
Should have tried out with Williams, they were not too bad in '06, they just blew up a lot.
