    I am SO HAPPY that I discovered your Video! This Company bought me my Oxygen Machine and told me what I already knew how to put on the Nose Hose. How to turn it off and on and that was it! They did NOT tell me that I needed to wash those FILTER'S ONCE A WEEK! I've had my machine since OCTOBER, 2018 and its the 1st TIME my FILTERS are being cleanse! Now I know to do so ONCE A WEEK! THANK YOU!

      You are welcome, unfortunately its something I've heard time and time again. It's one my top reasons for doing the videos and I'm so glad to be able to help. Maintenance is so important in making sure that you get the best quality air possible and that your equipment stays in good running order. Have a good one!

      @@OxygenGuy After I cleanse my filter's, dried them and replaced them, turned on my unit, I could IMMEDIATELY TELL the difference! Not only am I getting cleaner Oxygen, it appears I am receiving the right flow amount too! Before the cleanse, I could barely tell I was getting Oxygen.
      Another question, how often should that Nose Insert be changed? I clean mine with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball, after a couple of treatments. Please advise and THANKS again!

    Great information brother!
    I do have a question... My mother needs Oxygen at night when she sleeps so she received a rental machine like this through her insurance provider. Long story short, the machine they sent has a weird odor to it when she turns it on. It comes through the tubing and from the machine. There are no indicator lights on except for the green light. Do you think that the smell is from a previous owner’s home or is something wrong with the machine?
    Thanks

    • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, it depends on the smell, these machines definitely pick up odor everywhere they go. Some good, some bad, at least half of the machines I encountered were in homes where someone smoked and some were loaded with baby powder. Also there's pets to consider, but.... Regardless of what causes it.. If it stinks I'd ask for a different one. Make note of the serial number on the machine before you call, that way you know for sure it's a different machine. I don't mean to sound negative but I wouldn't my mom to have settle for a stinky machine. I wish I was local to you I'd check it myself. Have a good night.

      Oxygen Guy Thanks for the reply. The smell was sort of a faint burning smell. The yellow light just came on so we shut it down and called the supply company. They are sending a guy out with a new machine as we speak. The operator did ask if it was a white power around the base of the machine. Not sure what she meant by that, but we have carpet so we didn’t see anything. I think the issue will get resolved shortly, but thanks again for the feedback. Have a good night!

    • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  4 роки тому

      No problem. The yellow alert is probably a low oxygen alert, if she's a two liter patient or less then just keep her calm and relaxed until they get there with the new machine. No exertion if you can help it, if she's feeling rough you may want to grab her emergency tank and hook her up at her prescribed dose. It's a good thing you are there to help her out. Hopefully they won't be too long with the replacement. Good night

      Hi friend, look up humidifier adapter on Amazon you will see two types of adapter one clear one piece and a two piece black and clear. Both will work but you will have to loop the clear one so it doesn't pinch and block the flow. This should do the job. Keep in touch. Have a great day

    My machine sounds quieter and seems to work fine, but it has a puffing noise every 6 seconds or so that I don't hear on the machine in this video. Is this normal? No alarms are going off.
    Also, it is missing its outside filter. Can I use anything else temporarily? It's working fine without it (with puffing sound), but I'm worried it will damage the motor. Also I hav eno idea how to attach the bottle, tried but the tube wouldn't stay on, even though I tried to screw the green wheel lid down on it.
    Thanks!

    I have an airsep concentrator I purchased new in 2003 and it has low hours only 2300 as I use it on an as needed basis. It has an oxygen purity indicator built in and I have noticed if it's turned to 4.5-5 that indicator lights up (this is a 6 liter unit). This has always been in a clean nonsmoking environment. With such low hours, what could be going on to cause the low oxygen purity? Thanks for this video I hope to see more like it!

    • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  8 років тому +1

      Hi, Thanks for watching. I couldn't find a six liter machine listed for airsep in 2003, I know Invacare made one, but I only ever saw 2 of them. If the airflow isn't being restricted going into or out of the machine, then im thinking a defect in the machine or a heavy contamination. I've experienced machines with a lot of baby powder in them and in houses with birds, the amount of dust inside of a machine is unbelievable. Unfortunately those machines don't have a accessible hepa filter so the only course is sending it to a factory rep to remanufacture it. I wish i could be more help, Good Luck.

      +Oxygen Guy the model is NEWLIFE and it has dual flow meters. The front says NEWLIFE elite. Both flow meters go to 6 but I know it's only 6 combined if both are used at the same time. I am pretty handy if I knew what part to replace. I was thinking sieve beds but wasn't 100% sure. It has good pressure

    • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  8 років тому

      Yeah I just got done checking out a image of Google. That's interesting, I've definitely never seen that particular model. Being that the hours are so low, I'd think the sieve beds wouldn't be my number one concern. My biggest concern would be that this could be a faulty sensor. The pressure maybe good and if the air quality is good, you may need a new sensor. Maybe find a local oxygen tech and give them a few bucks on the side to check it going any further.

      Hi Thiago, a Invacare platinum xl is a great machine for use in doctor's offices. In my area many of the doctor's have atleast one in the building. The xl is a little heavy but it's on wheels and is a workhorse. This is my non sponsored opinion of course. There are plenty of other machines out there but this is the one I've had the best experience with. I hope this helps, have a great evening.

    • @OxygenGuy

      Hi Eugene,. It takes more pressure generally than a oxygen machine can put out but you wouldn't want to combine them with out checking with your doctor. I was afraid of that, I see your using a portable oxygen concentrator to power your nebulizer, I was taught that a last resort thing to do with doctor consent. It's never a good idea to go over your prescribed dose and it's definitely taxing on your machine. I would talk to your doctor, chances are they can make some adjustments to your meds and routine to alleviate your problem.

    • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  5 років тому

      Hi Del, I no longer have this particular machine but most of the new models I’ve tested seem to be around the forties. The truth is that most of my machines I’ve dealt with are not new and have plenty of hours on them. I’ve seen plenty of this model in the fifty’s and some of the older ones that are much louder. The big trick is to minimize the sound because any amount of sound is too much for a lot of people and you can’t cover them up or confine them in too small of space. We’re you having some issues with one you’ve gotten or were you looking to get one? Overall they are a pretty decent machine, just be careful not to drag it around too much.

      The machine is much louder than I thought it would be but the bigger problem is the volume of the alert tone or alarm, it is much louder than it needs to be. I can't imagine being the only one who has complained about it. It is a very annoying tone to begin with but when it rings out of that machine like it has a built in hi power amplifier. • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  5 років тому

      Hi Katherine, I would not recommend buying this to test your o2 quality, not because of the quality of the product, but because I don't believe it's cost effective for a individual user. Your providers rep, your Oxygen Guy, should have the proper test equipment to check your machine. I can't speak for them but I'd bet that most would be happy to show you the results live if you asked nicely. If not, then maybe your doctor can help make that happen. Have a great day.

    • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  6 років тому +1

      Hello, It could be your power outlets or the sieve beds could be full or the filters could be full or not plugged in( the filters) or a clog in the line or something else. Unfortunately it would be best to replace if possible. I’d definitely want it tested if you are able to fix it. I hope it works out for you.

    My girlfriend has this model. I have been unable to find any information about adjusting the volume of the alarm. The oxygen supply service is telling me they can't help and not to play with it or void warranty. I would think other people using it must have complained about the 3 second 125 decibel beep every time you turn the thing on! I thought I would look to youtube as the manufacturer and my local service supplier have been no help at all. I thought it would be the most common complaint. I can't imagine being the only one with the issue or is it possible that she just has the concentrator from Hell? Did I do something so terrible in my life to deserve this? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  4 роки тому

      Hi Lv. I would first tell you that I realize it can be an adjustment living with oxygen equipment and perhaps some tweaks might help out. The alarm is definitely important and I would not adjust it in any way, it’s good that you notice and not become complacent. I would consider adding some tubing and putting it in another room, no more than 100 total feet and make sure they check that she’s getting her proper liter amount. The other room or hallway needs to have room to allow the machine to breathe, not a closet ( that would be restricting air flow). Also I would buy a fan and use it all night, the noise should calm the sound down a bit. Then if you need more buffer I’d add a couple of lite ear plugs. I believe this should do it, give this a try. Have a great weekend.

    Why does it sound like a freaking Lawn Mower? Is it really that difficult to make one that isn't so loud?

    • @OxygenGuy
      @OxygenGuy  6 років тому

      Hi, unfortunately the process of making the medical grade oxygen is a intense process on machines in good condition, but a lot of the equipment out there is old and in desperate need of repair and/or replacement. There are tricks to help quiet or adapt the machines to their environment, it really depends on your situation. I’ve had some patients that could not sleep with any noise and I had to put the machine in another room 100 feet away with a close door. I’ve even put one in a downstairs room and ran the tubing through the patients floor. Per their request of course. It’s always worth a try to find a solution. Hang in there.

    • @Pube83
      @Pube83 6 років тому +3

      I just don't see why they aren't made quieter. Take a Lexus over a Toyota, it's basically some better glass and a hundred pounds of strategically placed sound damping material. Look at a higher end Bosch dishwasher, you can be in kitchen reading a book and not be disturbed by it's low sound level. These oxygen concentrators are not cheap, so why not add $50 to the cost of one and make it quiet?
