That is amazing Man:)! I wish I could’ve had the chance to meet Ray but I unfortunately never did. I am buying his book and he looks very young atm which is amazing😎.
Ray didn’t bring this up here but I hope by before the singularity or before AGI, I extremely hope before and close this will come, physical health disorders/mental health disorders will be solved and understood more.
Science is amazing and I hope the best for everyone struggling mentally or physically and I do hope we solve these issues’ soon and create newer, safer and more effective treatments for physical/mental health issues . I wish I would’ve been in your spot where I can listen to MIT lectures for free. That is awesome and hopefully in the future I can also get the chance to drive to Boston and sit in a lecture. Tickets must be expensive though lol😅

So it might or might not devellop to an agi. His money VS computing power exponential growth isn't a physical law either. But the exponential growth of our physical economy fuled it.

He avoids the problem of consciousness. He avoided the question of building empathy into computers. He already said that adding emotion is not feasible at this point. We are the experiencers. Computers add intelligence. Intelligence is not consciousness, nor are sensations or emotions, but all of these are available to human conscious experience. Not just humans, actually. The way to put empathy into computers is to make sure the designers and programmers score high on empathy, which could be done but isn’t. Don’t know how you could control for hackers, who probably lack empathy. More regulation is definitely needed.

Well. Since the 80s we have connected humans to computers; it will become more seamless - can a human and computer communicate even non-invasive ? Yes; even with a human not knowing ? Yes. So one consciousness from a human interacting with AI in real-time… We can simulate neural … We can grow neuro cells; are our feeling in biology? So it seems; unless it’s an antenna - but that means we can make a bio like that anyways; then a human is not more emotional than an receiver of ur. Can AI have the same, feelings, consciousness? 100% yes.

I used to tell people we are going to live to have 1000 years or more, and they look at me with disbelief. I tell them, you just have to live 20 years more, so you will be able to live until 100 then if you have 60 now. Then, at 80 you will live probably until 120. At 120 you will then live until 150 and so on and on, so probably most of us will not die at all. I´m thrilled and excited about this, I want to live forever, maybe, let´s talk about it in 300 years.

At 59:00, the idea that employment has completely changed in a century is often floated. But the cogent point is usually ignored. Those changes took generations. And in that time, people adjusted. The changes we are expecting now will happen in a decade or less. The adjustment required and the strain on society are unprecedented. And should be seriously addressed. Not papered over with platitudes.

In this grand assembly, where minds meet and wisdom's shared with zest so sweet, I shall endeavour to recount the tale of Master Kurzweil, whose insights never fail. He eloquently unveiled the future's veil, speaking of machines that think and learn, a revolution at every turn.
For sixty years, yes, he has toiled in AI's vast domain, where neural nets and algorithms reign. He spoke of days when machines so keen could mimic man's intellect, a scene once deemed but a distant dream, now closer than it doth seem.
He tells of language models grand, whose words flow like Shakespeare's hand. These models, GPT by name, have changed the game, their prowess famed. With rapid growth, they've captured hearts; they play their part in every field.
The exponential growth, he says, of computing power that never stays does promise us a bright future where human intellect takes flight. By 2045, as Kurzweil claims, our minds and machines will be the same, a millionfold, and our thoughts shall grow to heights as we do not know.
But caution too he doth advise, for with great power danger lies. We must, with wisdom, use this gift, our spirits high ever to lift. In ethics, care, and thoughtful deeds, we'll ensure technology feeds the common good and leads to a future where all succeed.
So let us then, with open minds, embrace the future, seek and find the ways to harness this great force, and set our collective course towards a world of wonder where all can thrive, and in harmony with machines, we'll drive humanity to heights alive.
In Kurzweil's vision, clear and bright, we see a beacon in the night. A future filled with hope and light, where human potential reaches new heights.

58:15 "We've talked a lot about a post-scarcity world here, and I wanted to know how do you see the future of currency, jobs, and just general value?"
