KarenBritChick I have a rather quirky style and put things together a bit differently than most. Apparently, despite being plus sized, it works; I get tons of compliments and almost as many requests for fashion advice and even some requests to help people revamp their wardrobe.

The Gaia bag has been around since the early 80s and its so great to see them make a resurgence...everything seems to come back into style again, like 30years later!
I use to have one of those bamboo purses when I was a teenager...loved it!...I would put different colored silk scarfs in it to match my outfits...I paid about 5 dollars for it, I can only imagine how much it cost now...but it was different and I like being different!

A couple pieces that I always get compliments on are a tropical print full length skirt from Banana Republic and a pair of big diamond earrings from Kate Spade
Since you mentioned it...would be interested in a video on how you put together your necklaces, earrings... etc to flatter the neckline you are wearing. What length, size, style goes best with what neckline is what I mean. When do you wear nothing. You look stunning in this video with nothing around your neck. Are chokers over done? I would have tried a choker. Sometimes I am not quite sure where to go with things.
This is a really good question and could be something I incorporate for a video. My general rule of thumb is either/or: so statement necklace and no earrings. Or statement earrings and that's it nothing else. There's more but that's my general stand by rule
I love that you encourage feminine clothes and colors. please do a turorial regarding slips under dresses and skirts. Fabrics hang and swing only if there is a slip underneath. I live in Southern CA. I am 62 and we always wore slips in the old days.

Lol - I have an original vintage bag like the Cult Gaia one that I bought nearly 25 years ago at the thrift store. I paid 50 cents and I get a ton of compliments on it. I keep the red marked price on the inside :)

I've had it for years, like maybe the late 70's🤔 I put Gaia in quotes because I have no clue who made it or where I got it from. Who can remember anything from the seventies......... However, It's been in my purse stash all these years, and this spring I got the idea to start using it for the summer. Like I said people stop me and ask/compliment my bag. It really gives me a tickle. Thank you for sharing your style tips.

Unfortunately one of the bamboo slats broke, kept stabbing me, little things would fall out. Wish I was able to fix it (even my dad who is like MacGyver - in the limo on the way to my sis' wedding 15 years ago my dee-vine bargain Manolo t-strap broke, in minutes he had then fixed with a piece of wire from one of our bouquets, just in time - couldn't fix it☹️), loooved that bag so much!

Do you recall those bags (pretty sure from Greece) that had rope straps, colourful woven designs I think made out of cotton or wool, with the tassels at the bottom? My grandmother had the net bag for the market. That was over 30 years ago. There were no plastic bags then and paper was impractical for the market. It was the original re-cycle bag.
Years ago i randomly checked the "old ladies" section for sales & i found a pink draped skirt that ive till these days & even men have told me how beautiful it looks (it was SO cheap!) I love it. Many times people ignore those sales cause is tagged as "styles for old women" but ive found cool things.
Gaia bamboo bag was popular in the 1980s, my aunt hand one when I was a kid. Love how they've been resurrected in new colours. Great vid by the way...love the mango petal earrings. Big thumbs up from New Zealand.

for me its a pair of statement earrings. they're in an antique brass finish and i bought them off a girl literally on the side of the road for $2 . she was just selling all of her things because she was moving abroad, but i get complemented on them all the time. love them.

Years ago i randomly checked the "old ladies" section for sales & i found a pink draped skirt that ive till these days & even men have told me how beautiful it looks (it was SO cheap!) I love it. Many times people ignore those sales cause is tagged as "styles for old women" but ive found cool things.

for me its a pair of statement earrings. they're in an antique brass finish and i bought them off a girl literally on the side of the road for $2 . she was just selling all of her things because she was moving abroad, but i get complemented on them all the time. love them.
