It is claimed Jesus was dead for 3 days. However, chronologically this is incorrect. If we assume he died on Good Friday around tea time, say 5pm and he rose early on Easter Sunday, then by my calculations he was only dead for about 36 hours . Anyone agree
One, the Bible outright states the approximate time Jesus died: "the ninth hour," which by modern reckoning is 3:00 p.m. - so there is no need to "assume" what time this occurred. Two, it is not "claimed" that Jesus was dead for three days; what it does state is that Jesus rose "on the third day" - the first day on which He was dead was Friday, the second day was Saturday, and Sunday makes the third day.
