- We heat treat a home made 60lb anvil with 2 propane torches, a large piece of pipe, and some water. There was no cracking on the welds and it came out really nice after tempering. The leidenfrost effect is also demonstrated in a neat way.

That torches is a beast!
very inventive! I don't have a kiln big enough for an anvil, and if I did, considering the shear size, and weight of it, that would just be way too dangerous, so this makes sense!
Nice video man I subscribed! I'm just starting out on UA-cam only 2 vids but I'm gunna keep posting!
We want more!
why are you using a steel tube heat sink while trying to harden the anvil? I didn't see the anvil get anywhere near cherry red heat.
but where can I get my hands on one
You should sell pre-cut anvil pieces for those that would like to try to weld up an anvil.
+Adrian Pimentel not a bad idea at all!
The Iron Kiwi - Awesome! I'm glad you like the idea. 4 main parts that are welded together. Maybe based around a 3in thick main body, 4x2x12in 4140 top plate.
Red hot anvil
do you sell anvils?
Does the water (instead of oil) not cause cracks and stress fractures?
In mild steel? Are you serious? This anvil shaped object sounds like a clay jug, and worths almost that much.
Where do you get all your metal from ?
+alex I work at a metal supplier full time right now.
