Out of town for work & staying in a hotel for a while. Never cooked in the microwave before. I like that this video got to the point with easy instructions. Thank you.
Pro tip if you can't/don't have milk- just leave a smidgen of water at the bottom and and a few packets of mayo instead. Turns out really creamy. I'm a trucker and milk really doesn't seem to keep well with all the altitude changes so I found this as a decent alternative
I love a simple video that gets to the point and isn't full of unnecessary dribble delivered by a youtuber that's full of himself. Great job! Now this recently divorced bachelor may not starve 😁
More pro tips... 1. use less water, so you don't have to drain. 2. add the butter BEFORE you put in microwave, no worries about boiling over. 3. NO MILK. Once pasta is cooked to your liking, just add in the cheese sauce. Add more butter if needed. No MILK !!! 4. Enjoy.
Thank you so much for this vid 🙏 I’m not allowed to cook when I’m home alone and I was craving Mac n cheese. Also, I like how u are very straight forward.
my stove broke but I made pulled pork in the crockpot, French fries in the air fryer & want mac n cheese to go with it, thank you bc I didn’t think you could cook it in the microwave until watching this video 🤌🏼
Very helpful, I would only add, that I use a pair of chopsticks to mix the cheese powder in the pasta. It mixes more thoroughly and less sticks to the mixing tool. Also, any nut milk or even evaporated milk will work just as well as regular cow's milk. Enjoy!
Thank you so much 😊 Tbh I know how to cook macaroni and cheese in a pot but today I was like so lazy so I just searched up “how to cook macaroni in the microwave …” Your so helpful thank you!❤️
Stovetop recently stopped working and been craving KD for a bit now, simple and easy! Always thought it would taste weird in the microwave but other than it being a little chewy.. It tastes the exact same :)
You could add a bit more water and put it back in the microwave for a couple of more minutes (it shouldn’t be chewy. Maybe your microwave oven is old or weaker than average).
I’m going to make this in a 4cup glass measuring cup because it has a handle. I would add that after the second 3-minute zap, taste one or two macaroni to see if it’s throughly cooked. If chewy, add a bit more water and microwave another minute or two. Easy peasy!
I’m commenting from my boyfriend‘s UA-cam, but anyhow, we are in a like bachelor type of apartment with a shared kitchen and this is a lifesaver because I have such a bad social anxiety that I don’t wanna go out in the kitchen and make KD 😭😭😂
I use a large bowl and do it in 2 minute intervals, then add the butter milk and cheese for the last 2 minutes. I don't have boil over and it is nice and tender and creamy.
So you own property but you don't own a stove? If you rent an apartment, it would already come with a stove. The only other option is you own a house or a condo but you choose not to install a stove because you're a slob
Pro tip 1 add 1 TBL spoon of butter after first 3 min to stop pasta from sticking together Pro tip 2 add 1 TBL spoon sour cream, mayo or ranch with cheese, butter & milk for creamier pasta Pro tip 3 cover pasta with shredded cheddar & microwave for 1 more minute for extra cheesy Mac n Cheese! Your welcome
Kudos to the man who uses extra butter and no milk. I like to put it in a bowl and throw some cheddar cheese on top and microwave in a second time 30 seconds
If you add a little salt or oil to the water it won't boil over. Also, adding butter or margarine isn't really optional. It's needed to to help the cheese powder dissolve and mix properly.
I never made Mac and Cheese by myself but so this will be interesting I don’t have a “high” botton but I’m sure it’s fine and I set the microwave for 9/8 mins
Fun fact: on a normal Kraft Mac n cheese box it’s only gives stovetop instructions ( I think) so whoever thought of kraft Mac n cheese + microwave= cheesey goodness you have saved mine and everyone’s time
Just a tip: if you don’t/can’t have milk, use a little bit of creamy mayo, maybe like 1 or 2 spoons/packet. Also, if you want this to be extra good, add some cheddar cheese and microwave for 1:30-2:00 and mix! :D
