The general rule right now is to not exceed following OR unfollowing 150 accounts per day (100 accounts for newbies), and not exceed following or unfollowing 10 accounts per hour. Otherwise Instagram will be alerted and you’ll get consequences.
Following too many people too quickly. Start by following 25-50 people a day for about a week then amp it up to 75 then 100 all the way up to about 200 amp it up on a week by week basis

I‘m about to hit 1k in an architectural niche with your follow unfollow technique and the followers are indeed very active. Even though it took me two weeks, it is still a massive progress! So thanks for the advice. I think that captivate alone does the job and the cleaner app is unnecessary (unfollowing a group of people works in captivate as well and you save some money). You should also be aware that you have to pay for 2 upgrades if you want to use captivate, which confused me a little bit in the beginning, but it is totally worth it if you’re serious about building an instagram page. Keep going bro :)

Here's a good tip: whatever niche you are into or are in, go to the Popular hashtag of that niche say "#Models" because you are a Model in this example, and instead of going to the *TOP* posts of that hashtag go to the *Recent* posts of said hashtag and follow and like those people, as they are active then and there, comment something nice, (not every post as it is spammy) but om every 3rd or 4th post on the recent posts of said hashtag and grow.
