Thank you Dr. Horiyat for sharing this information and video. I have learned more about zirconia and titanium implants from your video than I have from the two dentists I have recently seen.
It's more bio-tolerable than biocompatible. Dental implants (as strange as it sounds) are more biologically intrusive than joint replacements. Metal doesn't have good long-term compatibility with our internal biological system.
So true, I was in lingual braces for 2 years, and I hated the often taste of metal in my mouth. It was so bad, that in the end I only use plastic forks/spoons or straws. I can not longer stand the metal at all. Now I have 2 new implants, which they are pure zirconium from Straumann. I feel so good, with my new implants :-) I love your videos ! Thank you and wish you all the best !
@@viktorias7565 , my overall experience was very good and it took about 20 min long. I had no pain at all during the procedure as I was under local anesthesia. On 23 Nov 2022, I had had inserted 2 implants of zirconium /ceramic. Usually after 3 month I shall receive my new 🦷 After the procedure, I was given paracetamol, and instructed to continue to take one pill every 4 hours in case the pain will kick in, which it didn’t, but I took the meds just in case as I don’t tolerate pain at all. Also very important, please make sure that you will have the implant procedure performed by a IMPLANTOLOGIST only! do not let any dentist to do this type of procedure, as they dont have the required experience and skill. They will do it for money as its very expensive, and its a good business for them. Do not be afraid of this procedure, just make sure to chose the right skill /experienced specialist in this field and all will be fine. Wish you the best of luck !
@@leonadior8640 Thank you so much for your reply! So nice to hear good first hand experience, as I don't know anyone who had ceramic implants. And you are so right about going to implantologist, not a regular dentist
I’m not a doctor but I’ll knew something harmful for your health on the long run . Today just come across this valuable informative very grateful ! To be consider nearer as an option.
You also don't want to be an antennae for electromagnetic radiation any more than the human population already is. Imagine frequencies pinging off your implant all day everyday from cell towers and other frequencies...might as well kiss your organs connected to the energy meridians of your teeth goodbye!
The percentages of oral problems caused by titanium vs zirconia implants can vary depending on various factors such as patient health, oral hygiene, and the skill of the dental practitioner. However, generally speaking: - Titanium implants: These have been extensively used for decades and have a long track record of success. The reported failure rate is typically around 5% over ten years, with complications such as peri-implantitis occurring in about 10-20% of cases. - Zirconia implants: While gaining popularity due to their tooth-like appearance and biocompatibility, they have a slightly higher failure rate compared to titanium implants, ranging from 5-10% over ten years. Complications such as fracture and soft tissue irritation may also occur. It's important to note that these percentages are estimates and can vary based on individual factors and research findings. Regular dental check-ups and proper oral hygiene are essential for the long-term success of any dental implant.
The knowledge of the person placing them matters far more than anything else, and people who know how to place them use titanium implants. Zirconia is inferior in virtually every measurable way.

Titanium is used in joint replacements so it is a biocompatible material.

Leona, How was your experience getting zirconia implant and for how long do you have it now? I need one, and I am scared of the whole procedure

Hi there did you need to take antibiotic during or after your implant ? Also how much the total cost for both implants ?
Any updates? Thank you
Only one of the most expensive places in the country.
Your office uses titanium alloy ? What about 100 % titanium from a good lab ?
Ceramic breaks titanium don't. Last thing I want is bunch of cracked broken ceramic stuck in me.
both brake, both Titanium is stronger than ceramic
they need to create something using bone material

Is this affordable for everyone or are there any kind of payment plans for seniors

excellent point
Is the titanium screw also problematic or is this just for the crown?
More for dental implants
What about Gold?
Though about that
I cannot wait for my appointment!
Keep on improving! 😁
Wow good to know I guess I'll just wait for the med beds that are coming and just regrow new, brand new stronger God teeth😊❤
Where are you. I developed ringing of ear as I was getting my implants
I got the same issue while doing a root canal, I saw that bupivocaine has tinitus as colateral effect. How is your ringing today?

I wonder what is the condition of the titanium implant after 25 years or more .

Cool ad.
Can you replace a titanium implant with ceramic ?
Yes absolutely, In fact, I had an old titanium dental implant that was replaced with ceramic in 2019 and I have been super happy and comfortable
Very simple. DDS takes a implant screw driver, Unscrews, and screws a new one in. Might even re-use the old crown or bridge
Hey doc plz do not allow your patient to sit wearing sleeper or shoes on the dental chair
More money
Thank you 🙏💙
Psychosomatic?
You are beautiful ❤
I wish i was as smart as these conspiracy theorists. As we see now, they were clearly decades ahead!
As smart as a piece of wood if you don't check EVERYTHING yourself.
I don’t get it. What do you think is a conspiracy theory?
Thank you
