Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things has done, in Whom this world rejoices;
Who from our mothers' arms has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.
O may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,
With ever joyful hearts and blessèd peace to cheer us;
And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed;
And free us from all ills, in this world and the next!
All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given;
The Son and Him Who reigns with Them in highest Heaven;
The one eternal God, whom earth and Heaven adore;
For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.
Marvelous song of real life situation feelings expressed and giving praise to the heavily father.
I sing every morning with singers and am blessed.

When you know that it was during the thirty years war that he wrote this hymn, then you’ll understand that Martin Rinkart was truly inspired. At times, the man conducted as many as burials a day, including that of his wife. And yet, he found in his heart to write this beautiful hymn for his time (1636 the date it was written) and for the generations to come. O what a lovely man of God!
An awesome hymn with awesome lyrics.
Thank you and God bless, from Sri Lanka.
"For thus it was, is now and shall be evermore!"
I want to thank God the Father through His son Jesus Christ. I just found out I now have a permanent position as a doorman!!!! No more temporary work or working outdoors in the blazing sun. This is a real blessing for my wife and I. We have been struggling so much for years. When I told my wife , she started to cry tears of joy !!!
Thank you Father God in Jesus’ name ! Amen !!!!!

Kein Erntedankfest in Deutschland ohne "Nun danket alle Gott" - gleichermaßen bei Protestanten wie bei Katholiken.
Amen Praise The Lord
'With hearts and hands and voices'. It goes further than just the external - It's a heart matter.
This was Karl Barth's favourite hymn. It was the essence of the Christian life in Barth's theology. The Christian Life is a life of gratitude.
Thank you God our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ for your holiness and mercy and forgiveness.
Yes, the Holy Spirit does get a bit of a brush-off.

When the wall fell in November of 1989 a friend of mine was at St Thomas Kirche in Leipzig and the choir sang that hun the following Sunday morning as there was a such a great sense of optimism of freedom coming after 2 generations of oppression.
It doesnt change a thing.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Tonight (November 22), we had a Thanksgiving service at my church. We sang this as the Closing Hymn.
Rousing hymn of praise sung well.

Psalm 96
1 Sing a new song to the Lord. All you people of the earth, sing to the Lord
Amazing!!!!!!!! and at the same time is useful as a guide for people like me who are not singers and we try to help within a choir church. Thank you.

A welcome part of the Roman Catholic Liturgy Of The Hours. I sing along as the choir sings on this video.

Nobody sings in church as well as the Anglicans.
A very true thing I noticed during the times when I started living in London.
correct
.... Methodists, Baptists and Congregationalists do!
Where was this sung?
Beverley minster - a parish church in the north of England. I think it's considered one of 'the greater churches' of the UK because of its scale and architectural sophistication, better than many cathedrals.
You slightly get the words wrong a
Line2: "who wondrous things *hath* done"
