I'm very excited about this series. As someone who occasionally does commissioned art pieces, you be surprised how many people will request very generic stuff.
@IceWyre in most cases, I always found people wanted the generic stuff because they wanted it, so I'd say in 99% of cases it was a choice. Now, of course, some of the masks are rush jobs (Hutchinson screams rush to me)
I am an armchair goalie who foolishly thinks he could have been a contender if his parents loved sport and had the means to get him into net. Also I love goalie masks and like to imagine what I might design if I played for team x. So very excited for the rest of this series!
The fact that the Sens call-up masks weren't AHL or even further removed is pretty amazing. I think these Sens masks should have been rated ahead of many upcoming AHL masks as those teams/goalies didn't really try.
For Hutchinson I believe he was involved in a trade and he got his mask wrapped. It’s a pretty common pattern for guys who don’t wanna use a plain white helmet while they wait for their new mask design
True, I'm just really surprized he kept wearing it for so long. I guess he may have felt like, "Hey I'm not stickin' around in Columbus after this!" ... ??
I think Jack Campbell had the best masks out of all of the ones in this video, they look sooo good! I absolutely love them. In relation to the 223 other masks, I would put both of Jack Campbell’s masks in the top 10, possibly top 5.
We'll see when we go through all of them how you feel about top 10 or top 5, but I can respect your like for his masks. It likely helps being an Oilers fan too, as today's video (part 2 of the series), in my eyes, shows that I have a very generic Canucks mask higher than it normally should be.
I don’t think you understand how some of these work, the less detailed ones most of the time are wraps that are done quickly while their actual mask is being painted by Daveart or whoever is going to paint it

For some of the sens goalies i think they were just extra generic masks they had for them to wear because they were callups
