Orginal Chimp don’t get discouraged, enjoy it at your own pace and design it how you like it. Some of the UA-camrs have nothing but time to work on their islands so it easier for them to spam the game to get it so decorated. I did get discouraged too on my first island but I decided to do something dumb and restart my island and it was exactly what I needed to do to get my island the way I really wanted it. I just didn’t like the vibe of my first island. It might help get you out of that funk like it did me. Just a thought. ☺️
I agree. I dislike the over the top 5 star islands. It just doesn't seem real Mine is 5 stars and believe me its nothing like the the you tube 5 star ones. I just love communicating with my villagers. doing the daily chores which don't feel like chores. its relaxing and archiving little things. which is why I love yours....
I love this type of ‘podcast’ content even if you decide to stop playing animal crossing your style of content is enough, I feel like I’m coming back more for the personality than I am the game
I believe I found the one you are missing. It is in the first room with no podium on right. It is the middle most one. There is a green line leading up to nothing and feels like something should go there but I may be mistaken.

By the time I picked up the game it had already been out for a while, so I saw a lot of beautiful, amazing islands with lots of terraforming, custom designs, decorated to the brim. I started working on my island, and when I first got a 5 star rating I didn't really feel excited because I wanted (and still do) to do so much more to my island; there's always a new addition to make or something to improve. What's considered 5 stars by the game is just a set of rules and shouldn't necessarily be everyone's personal goals: as long as you enjoy the process of making your island, whatever you do should be valid. On that note, remember that no one is ever truly satisfied with their own work, just try to do the best that you can and have fun.
I personally like five star island tours because sometimes I feel creatively exhausted and I need inspiration and ideas and I think it depends on the person because when I started playing animal Crossing watching five star islands kept me motivated because I wanted my island to look like that one day

I had to stop watching 5-star island tours because it indeed made me feel like I was failing. It really helped that I stopped watching them and I started enjoying working on my own island more and more and was so excited when I officially got 5-stars myself, altho there is still so much to do haha
Same thing happened to me... I was watching the 5 star islands for inspiration, then I quit playing for a week. I just couldn’t play. But once I stopped I came back now it’s mine again, and not someone else’s. I love that you get this. Thanks. :)
Love the style and pace of your videos. I agree about comparing your islands journey to others. My wife and I both play. She WAS a resident on our original island, and complained about not having the full experience of the game and island. We have since gotten her a Switch and she is working on her own island. We look to each other for inspiration, not comparison. She is now realizing how much work I put into creating what she was living on lol (paying for every expansion, bridge, incline, etc). When I watch AC videos I am always on the lookout for neat things to incorporate into my island, and I hope others get the same when touring my island 😊
To avoid feeling bad about my island, I made a "natural" island, which is just my way of saying "terraforming is tedious and I like flowers lol." The most terraforming I did was to cover up some empty space that I couldn't do anything with, and I'm surprised how much I love my island
Watching this while I type this. I think it really depends on the person for 5 star tour videos. Personally it inspires and motivates me. If I start feeling burnt out or a lack of inspiration I watch a 5 star tour and feel much better and more inspired and keep doing my island. For me it gets my brain going with what I want to do to make my island unique. However it is not how everyone takes it if you watch one then feel bad about your island definitely don’t be watching those. Recently subscribed but yea keep up the good work! Loving the vids.
i remember how upset i would get because i saw all these amazing islands and mine was still at a 3 star. but i remember talking to my villagers and i realized that they love my island and they love me! it sounds cheesy but it really does help me stay positive! i love playing and when i do feel a bit bored, i put it away for a day or so and then come back when i feel ready.

Honestly, the five star island tours are great but you are so right about comparing your island to those islands. When I first played animal crossing, I was really stressed because I hated how my island wasnt that detailed like other islands.
I completely agree! There were a few months where I would pick up the game, do daily task, and then i’d have to get off because I felt very discouraged. I would see such beautiful islands, and I’d get upset with my own and I absolutely hated it. It made me stop playing for awhile. But once I stopped doing that, and started to look up specifics, so “museum entrance” and found things I liked from all, I began to get inspired! I put together the ideas and fell in love. I’ve been doing that with a lot of my building ideas and I actually love my island now!
I personally love 5* island tours while planning my island. I find them to be real inspiring, but I don't compare myself to other islands. However I fully understand how it could be discouraging to other people. I have gotten over this type of feeling by working on it for a few years (i'm an artist, so art comparison was the specific way I got over it). I like to just take a couple of sections and try and fit them to my map. I wish everyone and their islands the best. You guys got this! No matter what you feel right now! (also 5* islands that are fully developed could be a problem in future updates as some things people have found out suggest that there may be more buildings to add in the future)
I'm so glad you mentioned the issue of being disheartened. I've been an ac fan since wild World and seeing all of these amazing islands made me feel so sad about my own and I didn't play for a week. You're exactly right Ryan!!! Even though I've been playing everyday since the game game out I was feeling like that myself too. I looked all over UA-cam and seen all of these five star islands and thought I'll never get like this until last week over Memorial Day weekend I really focused on really settling on an area up on the cliff in my upper right hand corner of my island by my secret beach and I laid out the plots where I decided to move my house and all of my villager homes all in one location. And just like when I designed my entrance way with my fountain in front of resident services after I unlocked terraforming which was ny first project last month. I do agree after watching those videos it kinda of made me not want to stop playing it never made me feel that way but it did make me feel overwhelmed like I have a big job to do to get a 5 star island rating. 😁🎮❤😁🕹❤
actually seeing amazing 5 star island tours gives me so many ideas and really motivates me to work on my island! No I dont have all the amazing items and the amount of money that they do but it makes me strive to have it. I know one day I will have the 5 star island of my dreams if I keep working! 5 star island tours are amazing!
I love these videos because I sometimes learn how to do something that I never knew I didn't know. I agree 100% with what you said about touring 5 star islands. I did that when I first started playing but soon realized that I would NEVER had that type of island. Instead I try different things and learn as I go.
That's the way to go! I see a lot of people who think those islands are what you HAVE to do to get 5-stars even, and when I found out it wasn't the case, it definitely made the whole process much more enjoyable.

Great thoughts! I agree so much! I was actually one of the people that got so discouraged at the very beginning, but thanks to some constant encouragement from a friend, I was able to stop comparing my island to other people's (for the most part). I've seen posts online where people think about restarting their island because it sucks in comparison to everyone else's. It really is such a vicious cycle if you don't stop thinking with that mindset :/

Every time I saw a beautiful 5-star island (because they were everywhere), I felt bad about my island, because it looked terrible. I realised that I should take inspiration from other islands, and made my island a bit nicer and am happy right now! there are things I wish I could've done, but I've ignored them. It's true that the five star tours can make you compare yourself to them tbh

this video isn't very recent now, but i really enjoyed watching it before i went to sleep. The gameplay is really relaxing and i personally love the quiet animal crossing music in the background. It's just nice to hear someone talk about the other things that other people don't talk about. I watched a lot of videos like the island tours and how people flattened their island and build everything from the ground up. Unfortunately for me i ended up flattening my island and regretting it, to make matters worse it was December and snow made my island like an empty desert. 3 months later i got inspiration to pick up Animal Crossing again and I'm doing things not only at my own pace but I'm choosing a theme I'll be happy and comfortable with. Before, i wanted to make my island look like Koriko Town from Kiki's Delivery Service and i realized that it would be real tough to pull that off so I'm currently working on a forestcore kind of island which I'm really enjoying putting together

For anyone trying to figure out which fossil(s) you're missing, you can find a list of the ones you've found in your Nook Shopping catalogue under the "wallpaper, flooring, and more" section. Then you can compare it to a list of the game's fossils. It saves you the time of going through the museum piece by piece.

Actually idc if the island of other looks " better " then mine, I love seeing them having they own perspective just like I have mine ! It's wonderful to see what people have created and worked so hard on ! As long as its OK to think every island is equal by the fact that they're all beautiful in they're own ways ! I think it's better to get discouraged and be able to overcome that instead of not ever wanting to be in a situation where you get discouragement , failure or discomfort. You grow to be a better person overall.

Might be a bit late to give this tip but I noticed your black roses were pretty close together when you watered them with the gold can. When you water with the gold can the black rose is "flagged" as being watered with a gold can, and can produce a gold rose, but that flag doesn't go away until it produces a gold rose, so you don't need to rewater that same black rose with a gold can until it produces a gold rose and uses up the "flag", you can just rewater it with a regular can until it produces a gold rose. When your black roses are close together like that you can't tell which rose produced the new gold rose if for instance the gold rose spawns in between two black roses. If you space them out more you can save some durability on your gold can. This is also coming from someone who only uses the gold can to get gold roses, and so you may not be as concerned with durability management as I am but I hope this is helpful to someone! Also what you said about five star island tours potentially ruining them game for people is so true!
Thank you so much for that advice about island tours. I literally stared at my map for a good 15 minutes today and felt overwhelmed by how much I need to put into my island. I’m a graphic designer by trade and a perfectionist by fault so that’s hindered the creative process a bit. ACNH has been amazingly fun yet a bit stressful now that I can terraform. I try to take things section by section but there’s a lot of items just thrown everywhere right now because my pockets and storage are full. I truly appreciate hearing this so thank you. And nice work on your island and your streams! 🤗
Thank you very much! I agree that terraforming can be a bit stressful as I think most of us are perfectionists deep down when it comes to it. I actually got my island to where it is now by just simply placing things down randomly to see how it felt. Who knows, maybe one day your items thrown everywhere can inspire some awesome micro environments or sections!
I noticed you are missing the Dunkleosteus from the first room (the hallway). It looks like a giant, gray skull and would be in the empty space on the floor on the right side. Hopefully that's the only one! Also Stardew Valley would be a nice fit with the "vibe" of the channel at the moment because of the ACNH content. Stardew is one of my favorite games so I'd definitely enjoy any of those videos.
Here's my opinion on 5-star Island tours. I love them. I was struggling to figure out how to get to 5-stars, then I started watching a few 5-star island tours and I understood what I needed to do. I looked up guides and they didn't help me at all. I couldn't understand the way the process was explained by anyone. It bothers me that people are demotivated by them, but I don't think that is the fault of 5-star islands. I think that is the result of a society used to getting immediate satisfaction. While I don't think i will ever be able to make something as extravagant as many of the tours have shown, I don't need extravagant to be satisfied. I don't need someone to come to my island and praise it out the wazoo. My island is me and that is good enough for me. I haven't reached 5-stars yet, but you know what? That doesn't even bother me. I will get there as I continue to work on my island, which I will continue once I have gotten my currently empty plot filled. These people giving up because others have more extravagant islands ned to have their confidence built. Shielding them from what other people have achieved isn't going to do that. Building them up and showing them how to be and feel confident in themselves is what they need. Be you. Be wonderfully you. Do whatever you want with your island. If it reflects you, it is perfect.
I see what you're saying about being careful not to compare islands and such. I truthfully do draw inspiration from other 5-star island tour videos. I found a theme to follow because of them and I would like to post videos of my own island tour once I get a proper mic and capture system.
Half of this video was just you saying ‘trust the process’ and I love that because my friend almost stopped playing because of how her island looked compared to others
I think something else worth mentioning is how much easier it is as a popular content creator to get a whole bunch of furniture and DIYs really easily. Watching someone like Austin John Plays, he was able to get TONS of free stuff in the mail every day just from mentioning he needed it. I mean, I have no issue with this at all or any creator, it's just that it makes it feel a bit worse for the viewer who has to spend much more time and effort trying to get these things to make their island look as good
That's a great point too. There are also some people who don't have Nintendo Online or have a means to get specific furniture quickly and you can't really just substitute something for something else in this game without almost completely changing the aesthetic of what your'e going for or what the inspiration was. Which is actually kind of a big deal in a game almost completely centered around aesthetics lol
In regards to you playing other games, not gonna lie, you got a nice voice to listen to and your videos are verrry chill, I would be interested in watching any kind of series with your commentary!
abt the 5 star island thing, i watch these and do hella research on a game before i even buy it. like i’ve never went into a game with no knowledge, idk like i don’t like not knowing things bc i could miss something big and rare bc i wouldn’t know anything abt it. it rly sucks lol

I'd really love to showcase my Island tbh it has 5 Stars, I really like it, but I'm keeping it super chill when it comes to playing ACNH. I didn't do crazy terraforming or timetraveling, I'm just decorating away and not stressing out about how it looks like in comparisson with other islands. As someone who struggles with anxiety the last thing I want to do is bringing pressure into my gaming-time, I play video games as a way to unwind and relax and as much as I love these super fancy islands, we should also celebrate the simpler easygoing designs 🥰

Good advice, I restarted my island because I thought my island was rubbish...but I am glad I did as now I am slowing right down and thinking more on where I want my things, i can slow the plots down too so I got the nook miles to get villagers I can sort of choose. I am not sure why you limit your uploads, you mentioned you could talk and talk but you choose what to say, just do what you want, say what you like I’ll still watch them while you ramble it’s nice. 👍 edit, omg I need phoebe😱

The first room that you walked in isn’t complete and you’re missing the Dunkleosteus fossil. That is why there is a big space on the right side.

I agree 100% with what you said about touring 5 star islands. I did that when I first started playing but soon realized that I would NEVER had that type of island. Instead I try different things and learn as I go.
That's the way to go! I see a lot of people who think those islands are what you HAVE to do to get 5-stars even, and when I found out it wasn't the case, it definitely made the whole process much more enjoyable.

Great thoughts! I agree so much! I was actually one of the people that got so discouraged at the very beginning, but thanks to some constant encouragement from a friend, I was able to stop comparing my island to other people's (for the most part). I've seen posts online where people think about restarting their island because it sucks in comparison to everyone else's. It really is such a vicious cycle if you don't stop thinking with that mindset :/

Every time I saw a beautiful 5-star island (because they were everywhere), I felt bad about my island, because it looked terrible. I realised that I should take inspiration from other islands, and made my island a bit nicer and am happy right now! there are things I wish I could've done, but I've ignored them. It's true that the five star tours can make you compare yourself to them tbh

this video isn't very recent now, but i really enjoyed watching it before i went to sleep. The gameplay is really relaxing and i personally love the quiet animal crossing music in the background. It's just nice to hear someone talk about the other things that other people don't talk about. I was feeling kind anxious and kind of upset from things in my personal life right now, but this really helped so thank you. also congrats on 44k from when i'm watching this!

I watched a lot of videos like the island tours and how people flattened their island and build everything from the ground up. Unfortunately for me i ended up flattening my island and regretting it, to make matters worse it was December and snow made my island like an empty desert. 3 months later i got inspiration to pick up Animal Crossing again and I'm doing things not only at my own pace but I'm choosing a theme I'll be happy and comfortable with. Before, i wanted to make my island look like Koriko Town from Kiki's Delivery Service and i realized that it would be real tough to pull that off so I'm currently working on a forestcore kind of island which I'm really enjoying putting together

For anyone trying to figure out which fossil(s) you're missing, you can find a list of the ones you've found in your Nook Shopping catalogue under the "wallpaper, flooring, and more" section. Then you can compare it to a list of the game's fossils. It saves you the time of going through the museum piece by piece.
In Nook shopping the fossils you’ve found are listed with the flooring and wallpaper. It won’t say if they were donated or sold but still.🤗

I think it's better to get discouraged and be able to overcome that instead of not ever wanting to be in a situation where you get discouragement , failure or discomfort. You grow to be a better person overall.

Might be a bit late to give this tip but I noticed your black roses were pretty close together when you watered them with the gold can. When you water with the gold can the black rose is "flagged" as being watered with a gold can, and can produce a gold rose, but that flag doesn't go away until it produces a gold rose, so you don't need to rewater that same black rose with a gold can until it produces a gold rose and uses up the "flag", you can just rewater it with a regular can until it produces a gold rose. When your black roses are close together like that you can't tell which rose produced the new gold rose if for instance the gold rose spawns in between two black roses. If you space them out more you can save some durability on your gold can.
This is also coming from someone who only uses the gold can to get gold roses, and so you may not be as concerned with durability management as I am but I hope this is helpful to someone!

Thank you so much for that advice about island tours. I literally stared at my map for a good 15 minutes today and felt overwhelmed by how much I need to put into my island. I’m a graphic designer by trade and a perfectionist by fault so that’s hindered the creative process a bit. ACNH has been amazingly fun yet a bit stressful now that I can terraform. I try to take things section by section but there’s a lot of items just thrown everywhere right now because my pockets and storage are full. I truly appreciate hearing this so thank you. And nice work on your island and your streams! 🤗
Thank you very much! I agree that terraforming can be a bit stressful as I think most of us are perfectionists deep down when it comes to it. I actually got my island to where it is now by just simply placing things down randomly to see how it felt. Who knows, maybe one day your items thrown everywhere can inspire some awesome micro environments or sections!

I noticed you are missing the Dunkleosteus from the first room (the hallway). It looks like a giant, gray skull and would be in the empty space on the floor on the right side. Hopefully that's the only one!
Also Stardew Valley would be a nice fit with the "vibe" of the channel at the moment because of the ACNH content. Stardew is one of my favorite games so I'd definitely enjoy any of those videos.

Here's my opinion on 5-star Island tours. I love them. I was struggling to figure out how to get to 5-stars, then I started watching a few 5-star island tours and I understood what I needed to do. I looked up guides and they didn't help me at all. I couldn't understand the way the process was explained by anyone. It bothers me that people are demotivated by them, but I don't think that is the fault of 5-star islands. I think that is the result of a society used to getting immediate satisfaction. While I don't think i will ever be able to make something as extravagant as many of the tours have shown, I don't need extravagant to be satisfied. I don't need someone to come to my island and praise it out the wazoo. My island is me and that is good enough for me. I haven't reached 5-stars yet, but you know what? That doesn't even bother me. I will get there as I continue to work on my island, which I will continue once I have gotten my currently empty plot filled. These people giving up because others have more extravagant islands ned to have their confidence built. Shielding them from what other people have achieved isn't going to do that. Building them up and showing them how to be and feel confident in themselves is what they need. Be you. Be wonderfully you. Do whatever you want with your island. If it reflects you, it is perfect.

I see what you're saying about being careful not to compare islands and such. I truthfully do draw inspiration from other 5-star island tour videos. I found a theme to follow because of them and I would like to post videos of my own island tour once I get a proper mic and capture system.

I think something else worth mentioning is how much easier it is as a popular content creator to get a whole bunch of furniture and DIYs really easily. Watching someone like Austin John Plays, he was able to get TONS of free stuff in the mail every day just from mentioning he needed it. I mean, I have no issue with this at all or any creator, it's just that it makes it feel a bit worse for the viewer who has to spend much more time and effort trying to get these things to make their island look as good
That's a great point too. There are also some people who don't have Nintendo Online or have a means to get specific furniture quickly and you can't really just substitute something for something else in this game without almost completely changing the aesthetic of what your'e going for or what the inspiration was. Which is actually kind of a big deal in a game almost completely centered around aesthetics lol

I'd really love to showcase my Island tbh it has 5 Stars, I really like it, but I'm keeping it super chill when it comes to playing ACNH. I didn't do crazy terraforming or timetraveling, I'm just decorating away and not stressing out about how it looks like in comparisson with other islands. As someone who struggles with anxiety the last thing I want to do is bringing pressure into my gaming-time, I play video games as a way to unwind and relax and as much as I love these super fancy islands, we should also celebrate the simpler easygoing designs 🥰

Good advice, I restarted my island because I thought my island was rubbish...but I am glad I did as now I am slowing right down and thinking more on where I want my things, i can slow the plots down too so I got the nook miles to get villagers I can sort of choose. I am not sure why you limit your uploads, you mentioned you could talk and talk but you choose what to say, just do what you want, say what you like I’ll still watch them while you ramble it’s nice. 👍 edit, omg I need phoebe😱
