  • Why PM Modi is in Brunei | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Brunei, marking his first bilateral visit to the Southeast Asian nation. As a special gesture, Modi was welcomed at the airport by Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah and received a ceremonial guard of honour. During his visit, Modi is set to meet with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and other members of the royal family, aiming to strengthen India-Brunei ties, especially in commercial and cultural spheres. This visit highlights India's commitment to enhancing historical relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation. Palki Sharma tells you more.

Yes, instead of trying to improve and expand for the better of your own country, you're constantly wasting your time dreaming to _try_ to stop China's expansion per Washington's orders. Epic blunder!

Over the last four years and ongoing, Indian news outlets have repeatedly stated that India is significantly ahead of China, always pushing the narrative 'India wins, China loses.' So what better way to prove this narrative than at the world's largest sporting event (2024 Paris Olympics). It’s the perfect opportunity for India to showcase their country's progress and human development. All of China’s finest athletes will be there, as well as India’s best, competing alongside the world’s greatest at the highest level. The event will be broadcast globally, with eyes focus on India and China as they compete. So, did India easily win as they claimed they would? Of course not-India lost to China 0 - 40 and India lost to Hong Kong, China 0 - 2.
Olympic success is often a reflection of a country's growth and human development. If a nation such as India lacks infrastructure, training facilities, proper nutrition, and access to basic needs like food and water, it will very well likely perform poorly in the Olympics. Looking at India's very poor performance in the 2024 Olympics, it is now crystal clear that India isn't growing or developing at all, and India's economy is not the 5th largest as they have boasted, but rather closer to their bottom-of-the-ladder Olympic ranking of 71.

@@charmaine8512 Indians realized that they can't win in Olympic games competing with 100+ countries and hence, they allocated all their time and effort and resources on ICC cricket games because ICC cricket has less than 20 participating countries, which is far easier to win. Hence, they have built the world's biggest stadium in the world, the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad, and had spent so much money on cricket marketing, player development, media etc.

Manipur has been neglected for 80 years since independence. Whatever political party that maybe. Everyone just gives excuses after excuses.
People in Manipur really thought, modi might be different before he came to power but turns out he's just another failed power hungry Indian politician with selective interest and photo ops.
The sentiments in northeastern regions are losing faith day by day in the Indian state. And the demand for autonomy will rise in the coming decades. People are realising that the central government of India is just incapable of solving real issues and it's beyond their paygrade and competency to handle complex issues.
When Jawaharlal Nehru reaches out to the northeast region after the independence from the british to become part of the Indian union and promises safeguard and development of the regions, people trusted the Indian proposal to become part of india but things are going sour for so long and all there is left are empty slogans with nothing to backup their words.
It's a sad sad affair to governance to say the least.
