Almost a twin to my truck. Same paint color. Going to get some videos of the two trucks together hopefully. Subscribe and set notifications to “all” for updates
I have this identical truck except mine has a four speed. Same color outside mine has black inside. Mine is a 78. I went through brakes and did fuel pump and bunch of other stuff that just needed normal changing. I've gone over a hundred in it with the 20r screaming. It's one hell of a motor
@@ToyotaPickup I have a '78 longbed & have had it for 25 years. I have rebuilt or fixed nearly every mechanical part on the truck over the years. Was the cold start problem ever solved/fixed? From what the two of you were describing & by listening to the start-up, my guess would be that the choke isn't working right, is stuck open, disconnected or is out of adjustment. And/or some pretty heavy duty vacuum leaks letting extra air into the carb. That would explain the extra "pumps" needed to start when cold. Either an open choke plate or vacuum leaks will lean the mixture out to the point where it won't stay running when the engine is cold, like in this case. My choke plate works as it should & it only takes me one pump to start it cold. The trans is likely a W55 or W56 5 speed and the 5th gear is overdrive at 0.85 to 1. If I can ever help out with any info I have gained just let me know. That goes for anyone else reading this in the comments.
After talking to me, he is doing some work on it and may not sell it. I’ll get some more updates soon as we are gonna meet up again i am pretty sure. A similar one sold on bringatrailer recently
Beautiful truck. I love these old Toyotas.
Thanks! Gonna be doing a ton of videos to try and get people excited about these trucks

We used Toyota since 1975-1978
My father bought a 1976 in Southern California brand new back then.
مااجمل تلك الايام
I have the exact same truck
Longbed 5speed is rare.
check out the channel i got this truck in a few other vids too
Nice pickup!!!
The only issue I have with old trucks is the small space, are you comfortable driving long distances?
Were you able to buy it?
If So, how much?
i talked him into keeping it lol
I noticed he had a tach would you happen to know where he ran the ignition coil wire to?
I’ll ask him
How long does it take to start on a freezing cold winter morning or a really damp morning?
If i get the pump routine right it should start right up, otherwise it might take one try. Seems like 4 pumps is the trick for me
